And with revenue sharing and tv money, even when games are blacked out in Cincy, Dayton, and Lexington, the guy laughs all the way to the bank. The rest of the league loves him too because despite sharing their money with him, they know they get a guaranteed victory over his Bengals. LOL.

Who watched the NFL HOF Induction ceremony last night?
M. Faulk was a big jerk. Obviously the man misses the spotlight because he went on and on and on. The man thanked just about every living person on the planet.
D. Sanders was preaching to the masses. I knew he was going to preach and he did not fail to delivery.
Best part of his speech was when it ended.
Since when do the newly inducted players use the ceremony to "grandstand"??

Fine with me. Dallas has a lot to prove this season. I'm not sure they deserve a top 10 ranking.
Rob Ryan better back up his talk. There are a lot of talented players on defense, it's just a matter of getting those players motivated for each and every play.
I'm still bitter that T. Newman once again has injured himself and is out for the next 3-4 weeks. That fucking guy is so overrated. He's not a shutdown corner anymore. The last time he filled that role was at K. State.

Re: NFL 2011 Thread
My breakdown of Bears/Bills last night.
Buffalo fans are in for another long season.
Jay Cutler will once again be running for his life this year if Tice doesn't force Martz to run the ball again like he did last year. Their offensive line is for shit.
That said, this is the best front seven the Bears defense has had since 1989.
I can't believe Peppers is in his 10th season. The man is an absolute physical freak of nature. Buddy Ryan once said he doesn't care what someone looks like with their shirt off, he wants football players. With Peppers the Bears have both a specimen and great instinctive defensive lineman.

Re: NFL 2011 Thread
Preseason is great when it is your favorite team. For starters, you get the hometown call. Most importantly, you get to see what kind of depth you have. You may never see some of these guys in regular season play. Some won't even make the team. However, I like to know what kind of "insurance" the Browns have at key positions. This team IMHO is a 6 - 7 win team right now, but Holmgren and Heckert are putting the right pieces in place.Machado wrote:Crazy Levi wrote:I'm actually watching a preseason NFL game.

The league really needs to get this head trauma thing figured out before any more Duerson/Brown tragedies.

IMO, the NFL should allow more NFL player's to dress for each game.
Why teams are only allowed a certain number to dress is counter-productive.
We've seen the scenario for years-During the game a player in injured, and the team has to struggle to get a replacement, then the rest of the depth charts is fractured.
Let NFL dress 3-5 more players during the game.
Is there any harm to that?

Ever since the BCS was created, those bowl games were generating tens of millions of dollars.
About 13 yrs later, the NCAA has a lot of egg on their face and they want to blame everybody but themselves.
There needs to be major changes to the system. Major reform and I don't think the NCAA has the ability to make the change.

Another is that he's just not that good.Last season, Vick was tied with Josh Freeman as the luckiest QB in the NFL. What exactly does this mean?
According to KC Joyner, Vick only had 19.4% of potential interceptions actually become turnovers. He tossed six interceptions last season but he could have had as many as 31. These near interceptions include dropped INTs, tipped balls and other factors that meant the defense were on the cusp of picking off the rock.
Michael Vick is the only player on this list who has proven that he can play at a high level for more than a year. The only wrinkle is that he did this prior to serving his prison sentence. I highly doubt he can maintain the same level of production this season.
Vick has a high chance of getting injured or throwing a lot more interceptions, which will make him a disappointment in 2011.
He's only ever led the league in one thing: yds/rushing att
His career QB rating puts him at 23rd among active QB's.
Just look at his numbers, he's pedestrian.

The lockout with the lack of off mini camps and short training camp are going to help some of the teams and hurt others at the beginning of the season. So who does it help, and who does it hurt?

It hurts any team bringing in a new coach and scheme and probably gives an edge to everybody else (at least over teams that don't have as much continuity). It'll hurt teams with new QBs and a lot of personell turnover as well.SkyDog112046 wrote:The lockout with the lack of off mini camps and short training camp are going to help some of the teams and hurt others at the beginning of the season.
