^^^ I was just about to say that if Houston vs Indy was a little league game the mercy rule would have kicked in and they'd all be on their way to an ice cream stand. I just wish the game was televised here.
Ravens taking it to the Steelers. First play of the second half was fumbled and lost by Pitt. Balt recovered, scored on the next play, and then faked & went for 2. 29-7. Looks like the Ravens are getting sick of hearing they can't beat the Steelers.
Edited to say - holy shit, the next Steelers offensive play for an INT.

They started out shaky and turned it on. I'm following on Game Channel and couldn't believe it was only 3-0 with 5 left in the 1st. But not for long.
One thing about Indy this year - once you get them down 2 TDs they have no way of coming back and once they start pressing it's going to get ugly. At least half their games are going to be blowouts.

You know he'll whine that they don't have his butt buddy Manning!!!
That would be ridiculous, since he had no problem with Collins taking the reins. Still waiting on some of those weapons around him to make some big plays. Are they still being shut out?

You're underestimating Collins. He still has a great arm and can make big time throws. He's got some weapons around him that will make plays. And our players will be playing with a chip on their shoulder, since everybody and their mother have already written them off without Manning. They'll be out to prove something and shock the world. I wouldn't be surprised if they do.
.
Buffalo stomps KC and Chicago does the same to Atlanta. Cleveland is pathetic again as usual. Baltimore opened up a can whoop ass on Pitt. It's going to be a long season in Indy.
I am not liking the new kickoffs from the 35. Returns can be some of the most exciting plays and a good deal of those kickoffs were out of the endzone today.

Well there were still plenty of run backs today. I saw LOTS of returners take the ball out from deep inside the end zone. And I think a few went to the house today, no?
I'm reserving judgment on it. Today I didn't really have a problem with it.
Tony Romo SUCKS. That game was gift-wrapped with less than 10 minutes left and Romo gave it away. A fumble at the 1 when all he had to do was go down and take a field goal. Then letting the play clock come close to running out so NY could get the jump at the line and finally taking the delay penalty that led to a blocked punt. Then the bonehead INT to Revis that led to the winning field goal. And insult to injury he wasn't ready for the snap on the next drive. Romo has a history of this stuff. David Garrard will be in Dallas by Tuesday.

300 yards...two TDs...NO INTs...nice game rex.
You'll have games where you love him, for sure.
I can't believe the eastern seaboard programming network is focusing on Cutler's one interception for a touchdown rather than the multitude of great throws he made yesterday.

All I know is the dude just threw his 4th 300 yard game. His last two were in the 3 games he started for the Skins last season.
Maybe he's better than he was.
Grossman has games where he is as good as anyone, but he has other days when he does boneheaded stuff. He looked good yesterday, although he was off target on some of the deep ones like when Gaffney was wide open up the middle. I also saw a couple of times when his receivers should have had 'em too. The issue with him is that he is Jeckyl & Hyde, more so Hyde as the season progresses.
He's certainly better than that choke artist in Dallas. I don't think I've ever seen a QB give away so many games. The only thing I could think of while watching last night was that Romo laid some serious coin on the Jets to win. Seriously, though, a QB couldn't fuck up that hard if he was trying to throw the game. That was the most brutal 9 minute span by a QB I've ever seen. That team is going to mutiny if he does it again.
Hats off to Grossman. I didn't think he had it in him. He was horrendous when he played in Houston and I thought Shanahan had lost his mind bringing him in, but maybe there's something to that "quarterback guru" label.

Grossman has had great days before. If Shanahan can make Grossman consistently great, that's the question. I used to think Shanahan was untouchable, but sometimes I wonder about that QB guru label. When you are working with the Steve Youngs and John Elways of the world, it's easy to come out smelling like a rose. Shanahan didn't seem to have the same luck with Griese or Plummer.

Over 900 yards combined passing tonight. Brady had 517. Also threw his first INT in a long time, but that was Branch's fault. I know a bunch of Miami's yardage came after New England went to a prevent D, but still. Not going anywhere with a defense playing like that.
The officials were flag happy and called a lot of marginal penalties, stuff that was away from the ball and had no bearing on the plays. Let 'em play.
ESPN's booth sucks. Gruden is knowledgeable, but annoying. It's not too bad when they just stick to play-by-play or break down something that happened, but half the time Gruden is waving pom poms. Why do they need a 3rd guy in the booth?
