Damn. Davis kicked. He's been a laughing stock for a couple of decades, but that guy was once a football genius who was instrumental in integrating the game. RIP.

Re: R.I.P. Al Davis
Davis doctored his players medical reports to keep them playing when they should have been on IR. Curt Marsh ended up losing his foot because of it. Davis also got nailed for paying off referees back in the 70's. He's a scumbag.bane wrote:He was a crazy old coot, but what did Davis do to be labeled "scumbag"?SkyDog112046 wrote:Good riddance, scumbag.

One of the pioneers responsible for making the game we love what it is today, and a man with an AMAZING track record of success. For Christ's sake with all the talk about how shitty he's been for "decades" the Raiders DID go to a superbowl this century, and it looks like they've started to turn it around again. His legacy is fine.
Patriots fans are the fucking worst. Boston sports fans are the fucking worst. Bitter, vile cretins, the lot of them. EVERYBODY loves when Boston teams lose. THey are the world's P13.

I'm a Raider Hater through and through, but the NFL wouldn't be what it is without him. He did a lot for the sport, and I tip my hat to him. RIP Al, you crazy bastard. Just rest, baby.
Fuck sigs.
Re: R.I.P. Al Davis
Why? Was he caught cheating and video taping opposing teams practices before a Super Bowl?SkyDog112046 wrote:Good riddance, scumbag.
Seriously. Al Davis was a scumbag who did nothing for the NFL, and Peyton Manning owes all his success to the fact that he plays in a dome. You sure know a LOT about football.

And You know absolutley nothing, and have proven it once again with the statement that Al Davis did nothing for the NFL, in most cases I'd say I'm shocked when I wtness such stupidity, but it's a well known fact You're dumb as fuck.poizond13 wrote:Why? Ha! That's original! Dude EVERYBODY did. Come on. Davis was kooky in his twilight years, but he was an innovator that the game is indebted to. Even a Boston guy can't be blind to that. Scumbag? Really? You ought to be ashamed of yourself.SkyDog112046 wrote:Davis doctored his players medical reports to keep them playing when they should have been on IR. Overheard a "funny" joke at the expense of Al Davis this morning:
Rumor is the Raiders will broadcast a tribute to Al Davis this weekend, but the ceremony will not be televised in the Oakland area due to the NFL Blackout policy.
Since the team returned to Oakland from a 13-season sojourn in Los Angeles in 1995, the Raiders have been blacked out locally 83 times in 129 games, or 64.3 percent of the time.

I'm actually surprised he hasn't caught more shit for that. But I think people understand that when you are friends with someone for 50 years you might give them the benefit of the doubt.

Re: R.I.P. Al Davis
Yep, if you knew somebody for 50 years and they were your friend, and 2 days after the psu scandal comes out this guy is on tv accusing your friend, I hope you would not instantly believe your friend was guilty of this.
Re: R.I.P. Al Davis
Something about this story doesn't sit right. Oh well, hope nothing happened to anyone.
Then again, if that's the case the coach had something happen to him. Nobody wins. Fucked up shit.
