Re: Tim Tebow's run in Denver
With Kyle Orton in KC now, that speaks volumes about the team's commitment to Tebow this season. Elway still claims he's not sold on him though so I think it's weird that they got rid of Orton even though they still have to pay him. I mean, are they going to draft another QB next year or try to bring in a quality free agent? It seems like the team is sending out a mixed message.

Re: Tim Tebow's run in Denver
They'll probably draft another QB. Elway knows Orton isn't the guy. Tebow Probably isnt either but they have to give him his shot. Elway is trying to think long term. What's confusing about that? The Cusack wrote:With Kyle Orton in KC now, that speaks volumes about the team's commitment to Tebow this season. Re: Tim Tebow's run in Denver
That they got rid of Orton if they don't believe in Tebow....unless they really think Brady Quinn is the guy and if so then why isn't he playing? Not to mention that they lost depth at the QB position and they still have to pay Orton the balance of his salary this year. It seems like there's no advantage unless Orton was becoming a malcontent or distraction.bane wrote: What's confusing about that?

Orton was in the last year of his contract, and he wasn't coming back anyway. They were paying him to do nothing. Now KC gets to pick up his salary. It has more to do with Orton than Tebow. And Quinn ain't the guy, either. They'll be looking for a QB in the offseason. The Cusack wrote:That they got rid of Orton if they don't believe in Tebow

Prediction: Tebow & Quinn will not be Broncos next year. Brady Quinn will sign somewhere else and Tebow will be traded. Denver goes through a major rebuilding process and I for one hope it never works out.

I'd heard that Denver was still had to pay the rest of his contract, which as much as anything was why I didn't understand the move.Tenacious_Dio wrote:Orton was in the last year of his contract, and he wasn't coming back anyway. KC pays the prorated contract and he's a free agent after this season. The Cusack wrote:

I really don't see Denver ditching Tebow in the offseason. You people saying that are crazy.

Right, that's standard but I thought Orton had guaranteed money coming to him from Denver too. I guess I could have heard it wrong.bane wrote:KC pays the prorated contract and he's a free agent after this season. The Cusack wrote:

Re: Tim Tebow's run in Denver
I hadn't heard that. I'd assume he was gone after this year, and he wasn't going to see the field again this season. He asked to be waived, so there probably could have been some extra locker room drama if they'd forced him to stay. It isn't uncommon for teams to cut a guy they're not going to use so that he can catch on somewhere else. With all the recent QB injuries, it was just a good time for it.The Cusack wrote:Right, that's standard but I thought Orton had guaranteed money coming to him from Denver too. Re: Tim Tebow's run in Denver
It's pretty simple. They waived Orton. If someone picked him off the wire (which KC did), KC becomes responsible for the remainder of his contract.
Well that's simple anyway...but further (and I'm not positive I have this right)
If nobody picked him up, the Broncos owed him guaranteed money. If someone signed Orton after the waiver wire, I believe they could pay him league minimum, and the Broncos are still on the hook for the balance.

I thought KC pid him now that they claimed him off waivers? I'm not sure on that actually, just posing the question. The Cusack wrote:With Kyle Orton in KC now, that speaks volumes about the team's commitment to Tebow this season. The Broncos saved $750,000 on unloading Orton and he gets the balance of his 2.6 miilion deal.NeverSurrender wrote:I thought KC pid him now that they claimed him off waivers? He's amazing and everybody loves him! Did anybody think it would last this long? Seriously I thought the Broncos would lose to the Steelers.

Who do the Lions play this weekend?

No chance.
Tebow is his own worst enemy.
His religious belief has drawn so much attention, that the general public and other NFL players are hoping that he fails.
The commercial he made with his mom also did
the guy no favors.
Why do you think opponents have begun to mock the rookie QB?
This is GOLD!

I know. It's unfair for me to come in weeks after the fact but I found it amusing.

LMFAO @ comparing Tebow to Vick. Holy fuck that's stupid. Tebow should have spent a little more time studying the playbook and less time studying the Bible. He thought he could pray his way into the end zone and he thought wrong. Total failure and humiliation.

the Denver Broncos were picked to finish dead last by every prognosticator across the board. So the fact that they won the AFC West and a playoff game in John Fox's first-year as head coach speaks volumes.

This thread is aptly titled "Tim Tebow's run in Denver".
There's no way it could have been called "Tim Tebow's pass in Denver" or "Tim Tebow's completion in Denver".

The good news for Tebow is that there is no head coach in the NFL who values the forward pass less than John Fox.
