I understand. From my advantage point, it would be hilarious if the team with the most need at QB and in contention for the #1 overall pick suddenly gets "hot" and removes themselves from the chance.johnk5150 wrote:Even if they lost that pick, there's plent of great fucking defensive players on that LSU team that will be available after Luck goes.Machado wrote:Imagine if the Colts win another game and remove themselves from

That would be comical.
The rams don't need a QB, they have Bradford.

Appreciate that. It has been a horrible year, but this win feels great. 0-16 would have been an absolute worst nightmare. This season is bad enough already, we did not need that.bane wrote:Kudos on the victory. I really didn't thi k they had it in them. I was wrong. Congrats dude. Yeah I know it's only one win but damn it feels good! Proud of the team for hanging there and putting forth one hell of an effort. Props to coach Caldwell for keeping the guys fighting despite the record. What a great day to be a Colts fan, first we get the news of Peyton practicing this week with pads for the first time all year, then we get a victory. The team played well today and it was a well deserved win!
What's your take on the Texans situation and whether they will rest any players this Thursday?

I don't think they'll rest anybody, although they probably should. A lot of players are banged up and with their loss yesterday, they probably can 't improve their seeding no matter what. Getting healthy is more important than victories at this point, but Kubiak doesn't like to sit players.poizond13 wrote:Appreciate that. If the Texans rest too many guys they may end up with the same record as the Best Team In NY....
Rex Ryan on Jets-Giants game on Saturday: 'I never came here to be little brother to anyone. So, it’s on.'
BY Manish Mehta
The morning after the Jets were throttled by the Eagles, Rex Ryan went into overdrive and hyped up this week’s game against the Giants. It’s a virtual must win for both teams. (Both can still technically make the playoffs if they lose on Saturday).
Here are Ryan’s greatest hits from his conference call on Monday:
"Sure there's a lot of talk back and forth, most of it driven by me. But you know what, I’ll stand by everything I’ve ever said. I didn’t come here to be anybody’s little brother. I came here to win…. And to take over not just this city, even though it’s the city to take over, but also this league. I haven’t accomplished that yet. Saturday, I think, will go a long way (toward) doing that. We have to win this game. We have to get into the playoffs.”
“Certainly we were the best team the last two years. We made the playoffs… To say a team is better than you that never made the playoffs is ridiculous. Clearly we were the better team my first two years here. We get to prove it on Saturday who the best team is this year. Quite honestly, both of us are having disappointing years…. Whoever (wins) this game is clearly the best team in New York.”
"I never came here to be little brother to anyone. So, it’s on….. There’s no way I’m going to be second fiddle. If we were playing the NY Yankees, I don’t want to be second fiddle to them."
"I recognize that they’re an excellent football team. But I think we’re better."
On Tom Coughlin: "This is one of the great coaches in the history of the sport."
On Jets’ fans keeping their tickets instead of selling them during the holiday season: "I hope Jet fans keep their ticket... but I understand... if price is right, I’m sure it’s going to be tough to not let those things go"
On making thepostseason: "If we handle our business – we win these next two games - we’re in the playoffs. And that’s all that matters."

They won one game. Let's not get too excited here. The Colts have needs all over the place though, so in some ways losing out on Luck might not be all that bad for them.Machado wrote: I understand. I can't believe the Ravens dropped the ball that bad. Seems like all these teams that really needed wins completely fucked themselves. And then of course here comes the Chargers, the Johnny come latelys of the NFL. As usual.

last week the giants were on their way to winning the division and this week Eli looked like he was among the worst QB's in the game.
WTF!!!
this coming Saturday is giants vs jets in the early game and eagles at Dallas in the late afternoon game.
would not be surprised if the giants win by 30 and dallas losses by 1 point.

Guess it's good that it didn't happen once play actually started.

Agreed.
I was at the Iron Maiden concert at MSG when the sound cut out during powerslave. THAT was fun!
Who here thinks MNF is about 100% better without that tired Hank Williams Jr intro?

The 49ers make a joke of the Steelers in front of a prime time national audience. Ask the Steeler fans why they lost. Their answer is that the city of San Fran cut off the power so the Steelers lost momentum.

Nobody likes the Steelers or their stupid cum-rag waving fans.
They've been coasting by on their reputation for far too long...one of the dirtiest and most obnoxious teams and fanbases in all of football.

The AFC is wide open all of a sudden. Is NE really the team to beat? With that defense? Houston's offense is crap without Schaub. Pittsburgh looks vulnerable, the Ravens are a different team every week and Denver is Denver. Maybe Cinci or one of the other wild card contenders sneaks in and wins it? I don't think there's a real clear cut leader in the conference this year.

Again as A Steelers fan I will chime in and say...They lost because Ben made his usual amount of mistakes and really shouldn't have been playing. After the first two interceptions the couching staff needs to have the balls to tell Ben to sit. The defense also couldn't stop shit on third down.AliceManson wrote:The 49ers make a joke of the Steelers in front of a prime time national audience. Ask the Steeler fans why they lost. New England is not the team to beat. They won't put up 40+ points on teams with good defenses and no way that pitiful excuse for a defense holds any team with a half decent offense under 4 TDs. Unless they change the rules and let them play against the 4 and 5 win teams they've been playing lately they are going down hard in the Divisional round.bane wrote:The AFC is wide open all of a sudden.
