Meh, kinda, but only if Marquardt knocks Woodley the fuck out. Not much interest in the Rockhold/Kennedyn fight

This weekend's strikeforce was better than the last couple of UFCs.jellyheadrobertson wrote:slash4pres wrote:Meh, kinda, but only if Marquardt knocks Woodley the fuck out.

Other than the beauty of Marquardt knocking Woodley out, last night's Strikeforce was absolutely boring.BD888 wrote:This weekend's strikeforce was better than the last couple of UFCs.jellyheadrobertson wrote:slash4pres wrote:Meh, kinda, but only if Marquardt knocks Woodley the fuck out.

I felt bad for Keith Jardine & Rockhold is such a boring & faceless fighter.
The only thing Strikeforce has going for itself is Ronda Rousey.
There's no energy or pizzaz to their broadcasts whatsoever. And you know that main commentator makes up these little sayings before hand, & finds places to put them in during broadcast.
Oh, & thank god Woodley lost because if he had won we would be stuck having to hear his loud mouth trashy mom yelling out during the broadcast. I'm sure she felt great when her son got put to bed. I loved how after the last blow Marquardt just walked away.

What a fight that was, and T Wood actually put on an exciting performance. I'm sure that had more to do with Nate, though.

That ko was a thing of beauty, I wish more fighters threw knockout elbows like we seen in these last events...wow. They looked like they didn't belong in the same weightclass, though.yeahbuddy wrote:Was that knockout something else or what?slash4pres wrote:What a fight that was, and T Wood actually put on an exciting performance. I'm not crazy about the dude, I'll throw you a video here of him shitting his pants when crocop and Bas Rutten punked him.yeahbuddy wrote: And you know that main commentator makes up these little sayings before hand, & finds places to put them in during broadcast.

The Rockhold/Kennedy fight reminded me of the Jones/Evans fight. Not only in physical size, but the way both fighters fight. Rockhold & Jones did enough to win without inflicting any serious damage & Kennedy & Evans fought to finish all five rounds without trying to or not being able to win the fight.

Don't say that, he may be out of his prime but if he can get on that TRT thing, I believe he can revive his career.John Simon Ritchie wrote:mullet_head wrote:6 Year Old Vs 7 Year Old MMA Bout – Armenian Fighting Championship 10

However how much they try, Faber isnt a big ppv buyer kind of fighter.
I do want to see what this Lombard guy is all about.
What I've seen on Youtube the dude can really knock a guy out.
Nice that Ebersole has stepped up.

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
I agree it's not the best of cards, but if it went down like originally planned (aldo/koch, shogun/silva, bisping/boestch, lombard/stann, akiyama/alves) it wouldve been one of the best cards of the year. Every damn main card fight got fucked up, hell the clements/riddle fight was supposed to be alves/akiyama, the akiyama/siyar, the siyar/clements, and now clements/riddle.

The preliminary fights were actually quite good. I guess Lombard didn't meet people's expectations but he did enough to deserve the win, guess the judges thought otherwise.

I was not as smart and paid for it, that card really sucked.Kid-Wicked wrote:glad i didn't pay for that. what a snoozefest.

I thought the prelims were great, & the Matt Riddle submission was nice.mullet_head wrote:The preliminary fights were actually quite good. I guess Lombard didn't meet people's expectations but he did enough to deserve the win, guess the judges thought otherwise.
But after the Riddle fight, it all went down hill.
What's with Ebersole? The guy comes into the ring with no urgency at all! And then after the fight he is talking to others like he just got out of the john or something.
I guess when two heavy weights like Kongo & that other guy fight each other its okay in the ref's eyes to let them do nothing but lean against each other on the cage the entire fight.
Lombard? What was that? He is/was supposed to be this great knockout fighter. That didn't happen. Neither fighter deserved to win.
Did Faber do one thing in that fight? He pretty much got his ass handed to him didn't he? The next thing more boring than two heavyweights leaning against each other on the cage for an entire fight is two fighters that are bantamweights just boxing each other with an occasional kick thrown in. There was no wrestling, no submission attempts, & did Faber try a take down?
Overall one of the worst cards I have ever seen in the 2 1/2 years that I've been following the sport.
Dana White needs to shut up when people complain about a card. The "Fuck you, you are not a fan of mma/ufc" doesnt fly when a card is as bad as this one. Yeah, there were injuries that completely changed the card, but injuries are what they are & will happen in mma.

Ya, that Riddle fight was good, he's fun to watch. I can't get past the manscaped chest with Ebersole,,,,WTF
Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
Riddle called out Dan Hardy, but Hardy didnt take the bait. I'm sure Dana will make him an offer he cant refuse.MotorVenom wrote:Ya, that Riddle fight was good, he's fun to watch. I can't get past the manscaped chest with Ebersole,,,,WTF

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
Dana's a fucking moron, he's saying that Lombard should drop to 170 because of his shitty performance.. I really hate when people say this after almost every fighter loses. Lombard's short, but he's built like a truck, he'd have to lose a lot of muscle mass to drop that extra 15 pounds. I thought he won the by the way, but the fight was pretty boring so I'm not gonna go back and watch it.
Speaking of fighters that are short for their weightclass, here's a pic of Hendo sparring with Cyrille Diabete, to give you a visual on how Hendo/Bones will look-

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
Whenever a fighter loses that is supposed to be the next up and coming fighter the solution is always to drop down a weightclass. I think the only fighter to say no is Frankie Edgar.slash4pres wrote:Dana's a fucking moron, he's saying that Lombard should drop to 170 because of his shitty performance.. That's a great pic by the way. I hope Hendo knocks Jones out. Jones has never been hit like Hendo can hit. The H bomb baby!
