First place tie with the O's.

UNREAL!
Yankees are not playing well at all right now, while the O's and Rays have caught fire and gaining
ground every single day.

He sounded...weird. The Sox need to let him go right? You don't want that leading your team of prospects.Facedown wrote:Bobby V has lost it.
In response to a radio host question, he replied "If I was there, I'd punch you right in the mouth, ha ha"
Not funny ha ha but sort of maniacal.
He later said that his experience as Red Sox manager has been "miserable".
Anyone interested, here is the 23 minute interview in mp3.

I wonder how much the Angels regret giving that HUGE fucking deal to Pujols now? Especially w/the emergence of Mike Trout. I know I sure as shit would. And it's NOT just this sorta just avg. kind of season he has had this yr., he could absolutely come out next yr. and even a few more yrs. after that just CRUSHING the ball. But once you get into those final 5 yrs. of that contract, I have a feeling it's gonna start getting REALLY fucking ugly. Add to that, I hate to sound like a tin-foil-hat wearing conspiracy theorist, but I won't deny that I honestly do believe that the guy is older than he states. Supposedly Miami had irrefutable proof (maybe they did, maybe they didn't, but I believe he is a bit older regardless).
It's September. If he's going to bounce back he'd better do it soon.tin00can wrote:
Trout has really cooled off as late, which I sorta expected. I also expect he'll bounce back soon but it won't be to the level he started off at.
The only reason being floated around that he would stay is that the FO doesn't want to lose face.johnk5150 wrote:He sounded...weird. The Sox need to let him go right? You don't want that leading your team of prospects.Facedown wrote:Bobby V has lost it.

That's exactly why he'll return next season. Lucchino would be admitting "his" ( and his alone ) choice for manager was a colossal fuck up. That ain't gonna happen, even though I can't blame the dismal season on Bobby V.Facedown wrote:The only reason being floated around that he would stay is that the FO doesn't want to lose face.johnk5150 wrote:He sounded...weird. Yeah, their face is in great shape right now.
I don't think that's gonna happen. Funny but no. Even his teamates are jumping on him. Aceves was a suitable fill-in, Bailey is an elite closer. There's a huge difference. Know your place.....Machado wrote:Kill
What kind of odds are Boston bookies giving when the day comes
where Aceves and Bobby V has a "Reggie/Billy Martin" dust-up in the dugout

The Sox quit on Francona and they revolted against Bobby V. I don't think V is a great hire here but clearly most of this team needs to go. Of course I don't pay much attention to baseball so maybe that's happened already?johnk5150 wrote: He sounded...weird. The Sox need to let him go right? I was listening to sports radio from Toronto yesterday and heard that Farrell was without a contract for next year and he didn't have too much of a sense of urgency to start up talks with the Jays. The second I heard that I figured he was going to Boston. He has a track record there, is well liked, and I think they wanted him last year (for this season) but the Jays wouldn't let him out of his contract.Facedown wrote:A Sox official said today that John Farrell is on the top of the list to replace Bobby V. if they do fire him.
New name Mike Scioscia has become the number two choice if he is fired from LA.

You may be right; they could have been talking about an extension. I thought this was his 3rd year, but I guess it's only his second, as he signed after the season in 2010.Facedown wrote:I thought he was signed through next season?WOLF wrote:I was listening to sports radio from Toronto yesterday and heard that Farrell was without a contract for next year and he didn't have too much of a sense of urgency to start up talks with the Jays. They tried to get him. Ricciardi witnessing Chicago fuck Boston with Epstein realized GMs are a valueable commodity. He told them trade negotiations start with Clay Buchholz.WOLF wrote:I was listening to sports radio from Toronto yesterday and heard that Farrell was without a contract for next year and he didn't have too much of a sense of urgency to start up talks with the Jays. His bullpen decisions in the post season seem to backfire quite a bit. Maybe he's just been there too long and needs a change of scenery. I really like his small ball approach early on. Like Torre in that "always keep the runners moving" mentality.tin00can wrote:killeverything wrote: I'm not sure how he feels about Scosscia. I've been watching Sosh for over 10 years now and I'm still not sure how I feel about him. Like all managers, he makes some boneheaded decisions that most people can see backfiring, and he has his quirks. His teams seem to be really, really streaky.

No one wants that division. Whoever comes out of the central should be okay in the playoffs because they won't have to play the fucking Royals.killeverything wrote:Chicago's beating them right nowjohnk5150 wrote:Neither Detroit or Chicago can beat Kansas CityI still think Detroit's going win the Division, their pitching is just deeper. Helluva race though.
The Nats brass thought they were a year away when they made that inflexible decision. Fuck that noise. I'm pitching the shit out of him in the playoffs if I'm them. They should have shut him down in July when they were 8 games up if that's their policy.Machado wrote:Nats have only themselves to blame.Facedown wrote:Strasburg shut down.
The organization went about the process the wrong way from
step 1 and they were never able to recover publicly.
Strasburg himself does not agree with the decision.
That alone is a sure fire sign the team has messed up and is cutting
of its nose to spite their face.
