Not saying it would be my favorite match ever, but it would definitely beat the same main event two years in a row and give Punk a new feud for the WWE title.SebastianLeeDanzig wrote:Are you watching for their awesome business strategies or for shitty matches?Captain Morgan wrote:Brock's in for a two year deal? Let's hope that makes Cena/Rock a triple threat with Brock walking away with the title. Let's hope Lesnar's contract includes him doing nothing but shooting star presses. Only entertainment he ever delivered.

So the E finally gets a little momentum for the tag division, and they kill it. Rhodes will be buried in the mid card by the end of the month, sandow has a chance, Kane and DB are on the way out, and we don't even have any build for the e-chamber in the tag division. Damn shame. Vince is intent on killing tag wrestling, isn't he?

Sin Cara & Mysterio could've resurrected the division together with Kane and DB....if only Mysterio was 5 years younger you know.

I was glad to see Mark Henry back last night. Him totally destroying Sin Cara and Rey Mysterio while screaming "THAT'S WHAT I DO!!!" made my night.
Jack Swagger actually impressed me a bit too for a change. He came out there and just dominated.

First impact from Manchester looked a wee little bit better than Orlando. In that environment, I really don't see how anyone could honestly prefer the shows WWE put out. It will be interesting to see what kind of crowds they'll be able to pull once they start regularly taping everything on the road, in March or whenever. I read somewhere Vince is already planning to block them by booking as many houseshows on Thursdays as possible.

He's a good lawyer I'll never forget that most infamous case that he handled on Monday Night Raw, Rodriguez V Sheamus.

Bruno Sammartino agrees to work with WWE and goes into the Hall of Fame.
I'm pretty impressed with HHH's comments. There maybe some hope for the future of wrestling after all
http://pwtorch.com/artman2/publish/WWE_ ... 8468.shtml
Bruno was a huge name in the 70's. I grew up and live in Atlanta, which everyone knows is NWA/WCW territory and every wrestling fan knew who Bruno was. Remember, these were days before cable.
Its good to see him put aside his differences with Vince Jr. and get into the hall like he deserves.

I think Vince is doing way more harm than good at this point. The fact that Triple H talked Bruno into being inducted in like 7 months when Vince had decades to make things right with him and didn't speaks volumes. This gives me hope that the same thing will happen with Sting eventually. I've always heard that Triple H thinks highly of him so maybe it will happen sometime down the road.

I don't think Sting will ever work for the E. He is constantly singing the praises of the Carter family, he likes the light workload and seems content with his pay. I get the feeling that he also likes being "the one guy who never jumped". If Trips can persuade Sting to "go North", I'm going to start thinking he's a hypnotist.

Sting talks about WWE & the Undertaker:

I don't know for a fact but I imagine he & Undertaker wrestled at least once when Undertaker was Mean Mark in WCW.

The Jack Swagger/Uncle Zeb aka Dutch Mantell angle about being a patriot and not letting people cross our borders was a nice change.

Why? It's gonna get people talking, and really, this might be the only interesting thing Swagger will ever be a part of.eddie lee roth wrote:They need to drop that like a hot potato.ParaDime77 wrote:The Jack Swagger/Uncle Zeb aka Dutch Mantell angle about being a patriot and not letting people cross our borders was a nice change.
Yeah, it's racist, but so were a lot of other things during the Attitude Era. Remember, this stuff is scripted. It's supposed to push the envelope every now and then.

Agreed. The angle is so out of left field it's different than the token John Cena/Superman bullshit we get week after week. Wait til they roll this angle in the deep south or in states where immigration is massive. It's gonna be great if they can get people to jump the rail or throw stuff into the ring.

Re: The New (Spam Free) Never Ending Wrestling Thread
I'm not much of a Swagger fan but it did have a bit of an old school feel to it. It could be funny if it leads to a feud with Alberto Del Rio, but I'd only want to see that if Del Rio drops the title to someone else beforehand.
I'm really hoping that they're planning on a Jericho/Ziggler World Title match at WrestleMania.

All right maybe I was at a rush to judgement on the whole thing, if it leads to a program with Del Rio that would be kickass plus you could have the whole Rodriguez vs. Uncle Zeb deal too.
Thanks to whomever ID Uncle Zeb as Dirty Dutch Mantell, watching it last night I knew I had seen the guy before but couldn't place him.

I miss Shane. Wish he was taking over the company instead of Steph and the Shnoz. Although HHH has been making some improvements.

Re: The New (Spam Free) Never Ending Wrestling Thread
The ending was lame but everyone knew it was coming.
This was actually the first time I ever watched an Elimination Chamber PPV. I like the Elimination Chamber match. It's a cool concept. I hate that Swagger won, but at least they gave an unexpected ending to a match for once. I just can't see Swagger in a Wrestlemania Main Event. But, as I said the other day, it could take an entertaining twist with Swagger's new 'All American' thing and Del Rio being the supposed new Mexican Hero or whatever.
I missed the triple threat match tonight.
Watching Del Rio fuck up the end to the Big Show match was fun.
I'm assuming tomorrow night Punk will come out screaming about being screwed again and that's when Undertaker will come back.

Re: The New (Spam Free) Never Ending Wrestling Thread
This pay per view was a lot better than I originally thought...
The big shockers are Swagger winning the Chamber (which will set up a pretty decent feud with Swagger/Coulter and Del Rio/Rodriguez) and the Shield taking the win. I'm interested in seeing what role the Shield takes at WrestleMania - it could very well be three separate matches for each of the members.
I thought that the added stipulation to the Punk/Rock match would have resulted in Punk walking out with the title, but Punk has another valid claim for a rematch to set up a triple threat at WrestleMania. I think this will be the moment where Undertaker shits or gets off the pot and decides whether or not he's going to be at WrestleMania. The triple threat idea is their backup plan, and it makes sense.
All in all, the Shield match, the Chamber match, and the Punk/Rock match made the pay per view worthwhile. I believe at this point that Henry is being built up as a monster so that Ryback has a "challenge" at WrestleMania.
By the way - where the hell is this Orton heel turn? And did anyone else think Sheamus was going to hit Cena with a Brogue Kick?
