Mike Carp traded to Boston for PTBNL and/or cash.
Gio Gonzalez's name cleared in Florida PED investigation. What about Aroid? How unfair.

David Price doesn’t think he could ever play for the Yankees.
He likes his facial hair too much. “I wouldn’t sign a long-term deal there,” Price said. “Those rules, that’s old-school baseball. I was born in ’85. That’s not for me. That’s not something I want to be a part of.”

HGHiambi said the same thing. "I was born a Raider, etc. " When Steinbrenner gives you 120m and Scott Boras is your agent, you end up playing for NY ( see: Damon, Johnny ).Machado wrote:David Price doesn’t think he could ever play for the Yankees.

Oh, unless your name is Cliff Lee. Who ( very awesomely I'm adding ) turned down their offer ( the most $ too ) to play for Philly. The MFY wasn't even his second choice. If that dude was any more of a pimp, we'd have to call him "Ice."

Yep, they're called PEDs and your $20m bench warmer has a history with them. Kind of funny how Mr. March was good in October once. I wonder why.Machado wrote:Fuck Cliff Lee. Going to Cards vs. Marlins today. Been a long time since I've sat in the hot sun at a ballgame. 85 and humid.
What are you fellas doing today?

I just listened to Epstein wax poetic on 7th inning stretch changes, marketing ideas and not a single thing about improving the shitty team. 45 minutes on a new opening song. Nothing on how bad they are at 3rd base or that Jackson and Vitters can't FUCKING HIT.

That's called confidence Machado. The kind you get from being good, not pumping your body full of PEDs. Being a Yankee fan I wouldn't expect you to know the difference.Machado wrote:WhiteHouseSubsAC wrote:Preach, my brother.killeverything wrote: Oh, unless your name is Cliff Lee. Poor Theo. The mistake Chicago made was not hiring Dan Duquette first to build the team Theo gets credit for.johnk5150 wrote:I just listened to Epstein wax poetic on 7th inning stretch changes, marketing ideas and not a single thing about improving the shitty team. 45 minutes on a new opening song. Curtis Granderson could be out 10 weeks after being hit by a pitch that broke his right forearm.

I was just coming here to post that. That gives them Cano with some power, I wonder who they'll try to pick up if anyone. Aroid's out for a bit, Teixiera hasn't been Teixiera in two seasons now ( which no one harps on him about since Arod is such a douche ). Their farm system is still pretty barren so I can't see them putting together a package for Stanton.Facedown wrote:Curtis Granderson could be out 10 weeks after being hit by a pitch that broke his right forearm.
Montero ( who's MLB comparable potential is Miguel Cabrera ) was traded to Seattle. I agree with Schilling ( who's bloody WS sock just sold for $92k + ) on that one of never trading a young power pitcher. That leaves the MFY out of options really to replace his SLG. Boy, NYY just can't catch a break.
On a side note the team that just won the WS did it hitting the least amount of HRs in all of baseball last season. Someone said "pitching and defense wins Championships" once. Who said that? Oh yeah, everyone.

Granderson expected back the 1st week of May. He would miss 30+ games. Short term fix could be within or via a trade this spring. Plenty of time to figure it out.
For about 1 month the Yankees need to fill the hole while Granderson's forearm heals. I guess if you want any injury to happen to an everyday player, might as well be the 1st week of ST.
Kill-ARod is more than out for bit. He might not return until after the All Star break.
Granderson is out for a bit. ARod is out for a large part of the season.

I love how Reyes goes out of his way to blast
Loria
DUNEDIN, Fla. -- We knew before that Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria assured Jose Reyes that he'd never be traded.
We didn't know until Friday that Loria was still suggesting that to Reyes the week of the Nov. 19 deal that sent him to the Blue Jays.
"He always told me to get a nice house in Miami," Reyes said, after arriving at Blue Jays camp. "I was at a dinner with him in New York, and he was still talking about the house.
"Two days later, I got traded."
Reyes left for a vacation shortly after that dinner, and he was so stunned by news of the trade that he thought someone was playing a joke on him. He said he hasn't spoken to Loria or other Marlins officials since.
"Why do I need to talk to them? They don't want me there," Reyes said. "I don't need to see [Loria]. He traded me. It's all good."

Texas Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus was scratched from Thursday's Cactus League game against the Cleveland Indians due to muscle soreness in his left arm caused by a new tattoo.
"Elvis has been working hard, and having another off day isn't going to hurt him," Rangers manager Ron Washington said. "He'll be ready tomorrow."
The tattoo filled most of Andrus' left arm from shoulder to elbow, so it isn't surprising he is experiencing soreness. The image features a large face as a tribute to his late father, with crossed baseball bats underneath the face.
"He's becoming a man and a mainstay and is acting like it," Washington said. "He is getting better in all phases of his game."

The Angels give Trout $510k, only $20k over the minimum. $510k for a legitimate MVP candidate? I generally don't sympathize with a bunch of overpaid athletes but that's only about 1/2 of what they should have given him. And if they were smart they would have given him one of those 5-year, $25M deals that would have kept him happy and willing to take a little less on his next deal. I'm guessing a call to Boras is in his future.

Perhaps since he reported overweight the team is penalizing him with
the very low raise.

Check out this very dirty play by a college pitcher on a runner
trying to score.
The pitcher was suspended for his actions. I can't imagine this sort of play would happen in MLB.

I think Joe Torre better watch his feet before he breaks an ankle while

The thing about Cashman is this just gives him time to work the phones. That dude has pulled off some of the most mind blowing trades I've ever seen. Wait, you got Granderson? You got Detroit to take Sheffroid? The sociopath? Tex out 8-10 weeks with a strained wrist tendon.
S.O.B.
Reports are the injury is very similar to what
Jose Bautista suffered last season.
