Man, Cena's raw speech just reeked of a heel turn to me. I don't actually think it will happen, but still...

They're strongly hinting at it, moreso than I can recall in recent memory. I've read that the writers are considering it, but it will be interesting to see how it all plays out Sunday.demolition23 wrote:Man, Cena's raw speech just reeked of a heel turn to me. That would be one hell of a twist to his character, seeing as how he does all those make a wish stuff, is a big money maker with all the shit you can buy with his name on it, and he's one of the faces you see when the WWE wants to give a press conference.Captain Morgan wrote:They're strongly hinting at it, moreso than I can recall in recent memory. I think I'd like it myself, I don't really have much of an opinion on him one way or the other but if the do turn him that would be interesting to watch.

The WWE's supposed excuse for not turning him heel is because he's the top merch seller, all the kids love him, etc.eddie lee roth wrote:That would be one hell of a twist to his character, seeing as how he does all those make a wish stuff, is a big money maker with all the shit you can buy with his name on it, and he's one of the faces you see when the WWE wants to give a press conference.Captain Morgan wrote:They're strongly hinting at it, moreso than I can recall in recent memory. Here's the thing - having been a kid that grew up watching wrestling, if my favorite wrestler turned heel, I found another "hero" and bought their merch instead. The key example is that I was a huge DDP fan back in the WCW days. Once he turned heel, I wanted Goldberg to kick his ass. That's the kid mentality - you're supposed to root for the good guys and boo the bad guys, in any aspect of entertainment.
Kids are fickle, and if their favorite wrestler isn't a face or popular, they'll latch on to a new character. As much as I don't care for the character, I think Ryback is one that the younger audience could get behind should Cena turn heel. He's the Goldberg of the new generation: the children of those fans that were around during Goldberg's heyday.
As an adult, I can appreciate a character whether they're a face or heel. Being a CM Punk fan, I've seen both sides and think he's awesome either way. Cena turning heel, even if it's only for a few months or a year leading up to WrestleMania 30, would make it interesting again. Of course, it's the writers that are responsible for making the storyline work...

I truly agree with CM Punk. I know Paul Bearer would have loved this storyline. So for the marks to be outraged, if they cannot see that there truly is no disrespect meant then fuck them.Sinderella wrote:Video of Mania interviews. If you're a Punk fan start at 8:30 for a very non PC interview![]()

For what it's worth:
--Undertaker's match at the 4/23 Smackdown tapings in London will be a trios match, teaming with Randy Orton & Sheamus vs. The Shield in the dark match main event.

We definitely need as many links as we can get on here.
I used to have several until my computer crashed last month.
I predict a major heel turn and Ziggler cashing in the case.

Re: The New (Spam Free) Never Ending Wrestling Thread
A lot of people are predicting Cena turning tonight, I don't know if I believe it's going to happen. Rumors are that Cena & Ryback are going to have a feud, but they can easily keep Cena face and still do that.Artemis2085 wrote:We definitely need as many links as we can get on here.

I'm pretty sure Orton's going to turn tonight though.
If Ziggler and Big E don't win the Tag Titles then I think he'll cash in. If they win the tag titles then I don't think he will. Although, I would LOVE if he got both titles tonight. I just don't think McMahon will give Ziggler that much of a push and power. There were rumors that they were going to put AJ and Kaitlyn in the tag match too and make all belts on the line, which would be even better, then Ziggler's entire stable will have a title (not that I care about Ryblack)

Ryback/Henry ten times better match than I was expecting. Ryback looked legit hurt at the end.

In theory it was Warrior/Hercules from WM4 rehashed. But good.TheInfiniteStaircase wrote:Really? I thought that match was pretty terrible. But was pleasantly surprised that they gave the win to Henry.Artemis2085 wrote:Feed is cutting in and out. Just keep refreshing.

Punk just took a nasty bump. He's hurt. Pretty great match here tho.
Warrior is said to be in attendence!!

Fantastic match just now. Punk really carried it to the next level. Would love a rematch.
Taker was crying at the end. Wonder if this is it for him?

I know that's what they were going for, but to me, the old-school heavyweights and bodybuilders like Warrior, Hercules, Hogan, Lex Luger -they just did matches like that so much better.Artemis2085 wrote:In theory it was Warrior/Hercules from WM4 rehashed. Taker/Punk was great, as expected. Although, I really don't think Taker should do it anymore. He wrestles once a year and the guy looked like he could barely move tonight. Punk had to carry him through with the exception of a few big spots.
Dude, just knowing that Warrior may in fact be at a WWE event in ANY capacity makes me happier than you could possibly believe! I know he won't have anything to do with Mania, but God how great that would be lol (I know, I'm probably one of five people who feel that way, Artemis being the second of five lol)

I didn't catch him crying. It was a great match. WAY better than the fuckin Triple H matches that I NEVER understood the hype behind. Punk starting off the match with a slap to Taker's face right there stole the fuckin show.Artemis2085 wrote:Fantastic match just now. Punk really carried it to the next level. Would love a rematch.

Was Cena calling a(n) audible(s) during those two STF sequences? Lawler covered for him by saying he was talking smack to Rock. But it looked like he was having a pretty in depth convo with him...

And now Rock is doing the same thing as he's rolling Cena back in the ring. Seems like they're changing this thing on the fly. But they're doing a terrible job of hiding it...

Re: The New (Spam Free) Never Ending Wrestling Thread
I didn't catch all of it, but here are my top 3 thoughts:
-Punk/Taker was pretty damn good. Too bad the table didn't break, but that was pretty solid overall
-I fucking hate HHH. Lesnar is getting paid big bucks to be a jobber. I don't get it.
-Cena/Rock was meh. I'm tired of the whole kick out of countless finishers schtick. That's pretty much how WWE books all their top matches now to add "suspense" but it's gotten really predictable. It was great with Undertaker/HBK, but now it's overkill.
Seemed like an OK show, nothing overly special.
Next year's better be off the charts, because I'm gonna fuckin go!

So no major swerves, and Ziggler didn't cash in. But the Punk/Taker match was the match of the night, in my opinion. The Shield match was great too.

It's funny. I've been thinking of posting something about how it used to be if someone kicked out of a pin-fall after a finishing maneuver, it was occasional or once in a while, which would increase the shock factor. Now it's every fuckin match, championship or not. Let alone, multiple times in the same match.
Overall, it was entertaining tonight, but the only match of the night where I was truly surprised by the outcome was Henry/Ryberg
