Amazing draft... and poor Kansas City screwed themselves with Todd Blackledge.

And speaking of rookie QBs like Elway & Manning not wanting to play for the teams that drafted them... NOBODY did it better than Bernie Kosar.

I don't totally hold it against players, I consider it a privilege to play in the NFL but if you're that fucking good and can play for your childhood dream or avoid a shit origination then so be it. Some players could have been hall of famers if they wasn't stuck on shit team. I believe Bo Jackson avoided Tampa, Bernie Kosar wanted to be a brown, Eli not a Chargers, Elway and the Colts. Hummmm, there's a few more I can't recall.

I wonder how Archie would have done with a good team.

6 halls of famers in the first round and Richard Dent in the 8th. Then tons of all pro's deep in the draft like Mark Clayton in the 8th, Tim Krumrie 11th, Karl Mecklenburg in the 12th, Anthony Carter 12th.

Greg Townsend, Charles Mann, Leonard Marshall, Darryl Talley, Roger Craig, Henry Ellard.... among others deeper in the rounds

IMO the 1983 draft was the best.

The seventh best pick was a hall of famer.
The third best QB won his conference four years in a row.

Hard to top that, although those first round QBs were only 2-9 in Superbowls.

True but those QB's ended up on shit teams. Denver did eventually build a winner and Kelly eventually had help but O'Brien, Marino and Eason could have been on better teams. Bad or good, those QB's won a lot of games, championships and were in a lot of Superbowls.

Eason can hardly be blamed for the loss against the 85 Bears.

Oh for sure. It was more just an interesting stat than anything.

Very good film.
Was nice to review just who was picked in the 1st round.
Which players lived up to their hype and which players could be categorized as "busts".

Besides the Elway/Marino situation, I was very fascinated with the Jim Kelly situation.
I wasn't aware of what he went through in order to eventually land in
Buffalo. Was nice to hear his honest comments about how he "lied" to ESPN when he was interviewed over the phone after being drafted.
Refreshing to hear some honesty every now and then.
