Mel Kiper and his crew - which includes "the great" Herm Edwards, and Jaws (both respected sources quoted by Gregg in his ill-fated quest to prove Andrew Leaf would win Rookie of the Year) have given the COLTS the worst draft grade in their division.

The COLTS got a C+, while nobody else got worse than a B. The COLTS clearly losing ground in a division they were already outclassed in.

So says "The great" Herm Edwards.

Good lord.

http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/ ... s-nfc-east

Washington Redskins: C+

They got a B- for needs and a C for value, and Mel says he bumped them up a bit because last year's Robert Griffin III trade included this year's first-round pick.

Redskins tied with THREE teams at C+/

Colts have a stranglehold on LAST at C+ in their division, with all teams over them.

The Great Herm Edwards has spoken. COLTS have lost ground to their rivals, where the Redskins kept pace with all of their rivals. Eagles are no threat to the DEFENDING NFC EAST CHAMPIONS!!!!!

See what it's like arguing with yourself? Brutal, isn't it?

Redskins= C+
Colts= C+

Seeing as how the Colts were already light years of the Redskins in terms of talent, looks like that still remains the case if you believe Kiper's assessment.

SPORING NEWS NFL DRAFT GRADES:

http://aol.sportingnews.com/nfl/story/2 ... ers-eagles

Indianapolis Colts:

Grade: B+

Sporting News executive of the year Ryan Grigson took care of the offensive skill players in '12, starting with Andrew Luck. This April was all about nuts and bolts, led by giving Chuck Pagano a top edge pass rusher (Florida State's Bjoern Werner) and promising nose tackle (Tennessee-Martin's Montori Hughes) made for his 3-4. On the not-as-sexy-but-still-effective front, they gave Luck two solid interior offensive linemen in Illinois guard Hugh Thornton and USC center Khaled Holmes.

Washington Redskins:

Grade: D

The Redskins knew this might happen after trading for Robert Griffin III—a weak class with no first-rounder. NC State's David Amerson is a huge coverage risk in Round 2, Florida tight end Jordan Reed had a big lack of production for Round 3. They'll hang it all on Fresno State's Phillip Thomas becoming a starting free safety for them.

The skins are in trouble.

I'm on the fence with Kiper. But THE GREAT Herm Edwards agreed with him, so that tips it.

The Colts couldn't even manage to win the division last year, settling for a pathetic Wild Card berth. And now, they've lost ground to the Texans. I expect they won't be making the playoffs this season. They won't even be able to back in as a wild card.

The Redskins however, having kept pace in the draft with their rivals, shall repeat as NFC EAST CHAMPIONS!!!

They shouldn't even bother with the regular season, really.

CBS SPorts-

Washington Redskins

With no first-round pick due to the trade up a year ago for quarterback Robert Griffin III, the Redskins had to wait until selection No. 51 overall before joining the action. Once they did, however, it became clear that the Redskins made finding ball-hawks in the secondary their top priority. The Redskins began their draft by selecting David Amerson, a lanky ball-hawk who left NC State after his junior season with an NCAA-leading 18 career interceptions. The Redskins continued this search for playmaking defensive backs through the third day, nabbing safeties Phillip Thomas (NCAA-leading eight interceptions in 2012) and Bacarri Rambo (who led SEC with eight interceptions in 2011). Tight end Jordan Reed is a virtual clone of former Florida Gator Aaron Hernandez and could prove to be similarly effective as the Patriots' standout as a move tight end or H-back in this scheme. I also like the late-round gambles on injured pass-rusher Brandon Jenkins (Florida State) and running back Jawan Jamison (Rutgers). Overall, a very solid class, especially considering the lack of a first-round pick. Grade: A-

Clearly, the Redskins will repeat as NFC EAST CHAMPIONS!

The Colts however, are in trouble of not even be able to back into the playoffs again.

Sports Illustrated draft grades:

Indianapolis Colts

Their top pick, Bjoern Werner, has a long way to go before he can be a reliable 3-4 OLB — he was a better fit for a 4-3. And just about every pick here comes with some hesitation. G Hugh Thornton is pretty raw, DT Montori Hughes carries significant red flags and S John Boyett had issues with both knees. Hard to see it all falling into place for this group. Grade: C

Washington Redskins

Washington knew this year would be lean after dealing its 2013 first-rounder as part of that package to land RGIII. The fourth-round pick of ball-hawking safety Phillip Thomas moved the needle more than that of up-and-down CB David Amerson in Round 2 (even if the Redskins later took sleeper Bacarri Rambo, a very similar player to Thomas). TE Jordan Reed could be fun to watch in this offense. There’s nothing great here, but all in all, it’s decent. Grade: C-plus

Last years Redskins draft: A-
Last years Colts draft: B-

This years Redskins draft B-
This years Colts draft C-

The Redskins are still ahead. And RG3 has a division title under his belt; Luck does not.

Advantage, Redskins.

I do think it's fair to say that backing into a wild-card berth with a cupcake schedule is certainly light years away from the accomplishment of winning the division outright with a brutal schedule.

Nice to see Gregg making sense for a change.

Wow I just heard on ESPN's First Take show that the Colts are looking to bring in Tim Tebow as a back-up QB.

Back-up my ass their going to use him as a insurance policy to take over in games when Luck starts throwing the ball to the other team, which everybody knows is pretty much every game.

When will Ryan Clark and the Steelers stop running their mouths? The team is 2-6 against Tom Brady, Brady owns the Steelers. 1 win in 8 years and he thinks the Brady and the Patriots are an easy win. Clark is a useless safety unless playing next to Polamalu and is pretty fragile himself considering he can't play in Denver.

Steelers safety Ryan Clark is already licking his chops about playing the Patriots in Week Nine.

Clark said on ESPN that the Patriots have taken a step backward by replacing Wes Welker with the “fragile” Danny Amendola, and that quarterback Tom Brady struggles when he starts to feel pressure and can’t find an open receiver.

“I think what’s really underestimated is Wes Welker’s importance to not only the New England Patriots, but Tom Brady,” Clark said. “Losing him is huge. . . . I know they think Danny Amendola can come in and have the same type of numbers he had with the Rams, but we also have to remember, he’s fragile.”

Clark believes that if Brady isn’t seeing his favorite receiver getting open quickly, then Brady is going to struggle.

“When Tom Brady gets pressure and when you’re man-to-man and bumping those guys and making it hard for him to throw, he sees ghosts,” Clark said. “Even when guys aren’t around him, even when he’s not about to be sacked, when his clock goes off in his head that the ball should be out, we’ll see him duck, we’ll see him flinch. When you get Tom Brady doing that, the whole New England Patriots mystique goes away.”

Clark referenced a 2011 game when the Steelers beat the Patriots and held Brady to 198 passing yards.

“Two years ago we played them and dominated them because we went man-to-man and had a big corner in Cortez Allen on [Rob] Gronkowski, and made it hard for Tom Brady to get the ball off, in timing, and made him to have to make plays. It was hard for him.”

Those comments may motivate Brady to make life hard for Clark when the teams meet on November 3.

He is a free agent. I wouldn't be surprised if he does gets added to a team. Hell it would be funny if COlts added him and it interferred with Andrew Luck's play time.

The Great Herm Edwards is now reporting its a certainly Tebow joins the Colts.

It was inevitable. You can't trust the franchise to a turnover machine like Andrew Leaf.

I don't know why you seem to be all upset, it might do Luck some good to hold the clipboard and learn from Tebow.

Funniest piece of news I have read all day
Just when I thought Tebow had no place in the NFL, here come the
Colts to save the day.

Honestly, even if Tebow is signed by the Colts, there is no chance he makes
the team.
Tebow is not an NFL player.
Never was. What he did in college was great, but those skills don't translate to the NFL.
He is a QB who can't throw=THE END

The only reason he played football was mommy and daddy pressed the issue. He isn't good enough to attend a public school and is being home-schooled but he is allowed to play on a public school football team. That is fucked up.
