Kolb suffers another concussion.
Reports are his career is in jeopardy.
This topic reminds me of the PBS Frontline report that is schedule
to air this Octber on the NFL and concussions, "League of Denial".
Frontline produces outstanding 1 hour specials. I expect this to open
up a lot of eyes within the NFL.
If baseball thinks that sport has a problem with PED's, well just wait until the average NFL fan is educated on how much that sport has hidden from their own players when it comes to concussions & head injuries

Yeah, but according to certain geniuses around here your average hardcore NFL fan is abandoning the NFL - in droves - due to the intense pussification of the game as we know it. So they obviously won't care since they don't watch football anymore.Machado wrote:Kolb suffers another concussion.

Frontline does awesome specials but I'm not sure how many eyes are going to be opened. It's on PBS - who even notices?
They did a terrifying special on regional airlines in the wake of the Colgan Air Buffalo crash a few years ago, not like anybody noticed or thinks twice about buying a plane ticket on "Delta Express" or whatever.

1)There are no geniuses here. You made my laugh. Best joke I've heard all day and it's not even Noon yet.
2)Roger Goodell has already shit his pants regarding this t.v. special and the NY Times reported that Goodell shit his pants again about 1 or 2 weeks ago at a private meeting in NYC regarding this upcoming TV Special.
Like I said earlier, the PED in baseball scandal is nothing compared to the NFL executives, team Dr's and other employees who hid the dangers of head injuries from the players.

Did anybody see the play against the Vikes
Kevin Wlliams vs SF last night?
Dirty hit.
Uncalled for and unnecessary.
49ers lineman should be fined and suspended for going low
and striking at the knees.

team to prepare for the 16 game season.
3 games at the most are needed. The games coming up this week
are only needed for players that are on the fringe of making the team
Every team will not be playing their stars and withholding the starters
from the final exhibition games.
Owners get another opportunity to charge the fans full price while the level of play on the field is not worth the price of admission.

Rex Ryan has got to be the dumbest head coach right now I wonder if he'll even make it till the end of the season.
Playing your possible starting QB in the 4th qtr cause you really want to win the game is just idiotic the Jets won the preseason game the Giants win SB's.

Ryan wanted to put Sanchez in jeopardy and the idea worked out very well
for Ryan and terrible for Sanchez.
Ryan is a moron for wanting to get rid of his starting QB by playing him so late in the game.
This also goes to show that Sanchez is just another USC QB that has failed to do anything worthwhile in the NFL.

This makes no sense. Sanchez is Ryan's guy. With Sanchez starting, Ryan had maybe a 10% shot at keeping his job. With Geno under center, it becomes zero.Machado wrote: Ryan wanted to put Sanchez in jeopardy and the idea worked out very well

But I think privately Ryan wants to keep his job and he knows
well enough to know that Geno has to start because that's what management wants to have happen.

Re: The NFL Thread
But he can start Geno without Sanchez being injured. In any case, if Geno is the qb, the most likely scenario is that he shows some flashes in a losing season. Which prompts management to bring in a more offense-minded head coach, to take advantage of his skill set.Machado wrote:That might be true.Tenacious_Dio wrote:This makes no sense. Only Machado could possibly think that the Jets situation is some kind of conspiracy.
Hate to shatter the spell but it's completely clear at this point that Rex has absolutely no idea what he's doing and no plan for anything. He's completely lost.
Watching this season unfold for the Jets is going to be brutal.

Dissect Your Division
Okay homers, tell us about our favorite team and why they are gonna win the division:
NFC East
Redskins will win this division, and it's gonna be much easier than last season. The Cowboys suck and will as long as Tony Romo draws breath.
The Eagles totally suck and Chip Kelly is gonna be yet another college wash out whose fabulous groundbreaking college game proves pathetic when faced with the coaching and players of the NFL.
This leaves the Giants - perennial contenders - as the only real threat to the Skins. But the Giants are getting old and always collapse late, and I think Coughlin might be out of magic. I think it'll be a repeat of last season where they just miss the playoffs.
Of course, the Redskins ' secondary might turn out to be just as awful as last season, which would throw a wrench into my optimistic prediction. But we'll see. Can't wait for next week!

You are about as unbiased as P13 when he's sitting on
Bert Miracles lap.
Skins are doomed since RGIII and the organization are not on the same page.
Then the head coach declares "Super Bowl or Bust" during training camp. Oh yeah, that was a smart move. Totally unnecessary to go on record with that statement.
RGIII will never be the same player before the knee injury. That will impact him for the rest of his career.

This is complete nonsense. Even ESPN has given up on trying to push this "story."

Yeah, I guess the season is over after that blunder.

Yeah, just like Adrian Peterson.RGIII will never be the same player before the knee injury. That will impact him for the rest of his career.
Meanwhile, your quarterback is Tony Romo.
I noticed you didn't bother to refute my claim that the Cowboys will suck. I guess you are unbiased? Good for you.

It's all talk and a waste of time.
Most of us here have a favorite team and obviously root for them to win each week.
Before the season starts peeps are excited about the upcoming season and believe their team will never lose a game in the new season.
Anyway, go ahead and compare RGIII to AP. That is very foolish and a slap in the face to AP.
RGIII has one good year, but that year came to an end when his precious knee was seriously injured.
Very difficult to predict RGIII will be the very same player as last year. C'mon, do you really believe that?
Anyway, Dallas has a new D-Scheme, a new signal caller on Offense and hopefully a better overall team in 2013.
Time will tell.

Oh man, My Cowboys .. Fuck.. Romo still, O-line still in shambles. 4-3 defense? What is to like about them?
Dez Bryant. That's about it. But, seriously. I wish them the best. I just don't see them in the playoffs AGAIN this season.

Re: The NFL Thread
OK. AFC North.
Baltimore Ravens 10-6. Could make a playoff run but they can't repeat.
Cincinnati Bengals 9-7. Marvin Lewis may finally win a playoff game but I can't see them making a serious run as long as he is the HC and he will be their until he dies.
Pittsburgh Steelers 8-8. Team doesn't tolerate losing so they do just enough to technically not have a losing season but not enough to improve upon last year's squad.
Cleveland Browns 7-9. Browns compete all the way through the season for the first time since Romeo Crennel's 10-6 2007 season. With Norv Turner calling the offense and Ray Horton on D, the team is exciting and competitive but ultimately they don't have the personnel to win this division or make the playoffs. They will still fall in the "league's most improved team" category.

So describe exactly what Chip Kelly's newfangled college offense is that is going to fail so badly in the pros?
You can't, because nobody knows what it is or if it even exists. The only thing that anyone knows is that it is up tempo and keeps the defense on its heels. Of course it's a completely different thing than the historic and traditional zone read that Washington runs.
If the line stays healthy and doesn't get Vick creamed 10 times a game he might hold onto the ball and make some plays. They won't make the playoffs but will be a lot more competitive.

I'm pretty sure meathead has no clue about Kelly's offense. Just more running of the mouth by him. I hope this is just another thing he is wrong about.
