If you play Fantasy Baseball, who would you prefer to have on your roster:
Max Scherzer or Brandon Morrow?
I have Scherzer on my roster, but right now Morrow is pitching better. However, looking forward, I think Scherzer can turn things around, while Morrow I think may regress.
Should I keep Scherzer or find a way to trade for Morrow? A guy in my league is interested in aquiring Scherzer from me. A guy on another team is interested in trading Morrow to me. I'd likely get JJ Hardy in return for trading Scherzer; to get Morrow I'd have to give up Jhonny Peralta and a high draft pick. I'm in a 10-player keeper league, so for example, a 1st round draft pick really is like an 11th round pick.
(We have 12 teams in our league, 28 roster spots, 10 keepers, so every year our draft is 18 rounds)

For every 10 strikeouts Scherzer gives you you're going to get a 4.1 innning 7 earned run outing. You can win the "K" category but he gives you no consistency in QS, ERA or Wins.
Scherzer for Hardy is a no brainer. You get good power numbers from a position that normally doesn't provide them (though his OBP is a little low) for a pitcher that will give you an ulcer. Seems simple to me

never heard of Morrow
Scherzer is actually gotten pretty good
keep Scherzer
JJ Hardy is nothing...he's a light-hitting shortstop, and I dont care what his "power" numbers are...he sucks, and theres a reason the Brewers got rid of him even though they had noone to replace him

Re: Baseball Question: Max Scherzer or Brandon Morrow
5-3 5.55 era 1.53 WHIP
Yeah, that's great for fantasy purposes.
He's been on a win streak but he's a one tool pitcher (strikeouts) and I wouldn't bet my season on him keeping up the wins.
Meanwhile JJ Hardy is killing it. 10 HR 29 Runs 24 RBI. He's right at his career avg. SS is traditionally a power weak position so he's like having an extra corner IF or OF/DH.
Fantasy is completely different from "real" baseball. All you care about is statistics, not your subjective "he sucks" analysis.

you still like Hardy and Morrow better?
Scherzer: 19-3
Hardy: out of the league or close to it
yes it's a year later but Scherzer's been a good pitcher for a while now
