Tony Romo is not ruled out yet, he's officially day to day.

If it's as bad as they're saying....Tony has a herniated disk, will eventually need surgery and is officially fucked. Tough break for the Cowboys, time to draft a QB.

Their only hope is Romo responds to the injections and can play through the pain until the off season "after the Eagles game". Either way if Tony does need a disk fusion he's forever damaged goods.

Romo gets the injections, starts the game and might even make a play or two but by halftime the discomfort will force Tony to adjust his motion turning him ineffective and end up being pulled out for Kyle when they fall behind.

If I was Jason Garrett I wouldn't even fuck with Romo and focus on Kyle Orton. Kyle Orton knows the system and is more then experienced. There's worse back ups then Orton.

I bet we see both Tony and Kyle play on Sunday.

Romo is 1-3 as a starter in the playoffs, and 0-3 in other games when a playoff berth was on the line. Horrible in December when all games are big games.

I remember watching that game. Didn't like either team but was amazed and totally shocked by that play as a kid. Crazy, Vin's voice can't be duplicated. Good post.

They're getting a new stadium? Been outta the game for a bit, if I remember right Candlestick is actually undersea level and has always had a ton of internal problems including it STINKS! I've been there but didn't notice anything other then a smell, was just cool to be there. It had a better vibe then being in Oakland Alameda Stadium.

Glad you called it "Candlestick" My first trip to the Bay Area in 1995 the highway goes by the park and at the time it was just changed to 3-COM. I said is that 3-COM? I thought the Taxi driver was going to fuck me up and leave me dead on the highway. I forgot, Romo's clutch vs a shitty Skins defense that let him toss a simple throw to a wide open RB as macho said. Not a bullet between two defenders under pressure.

Romo didn't have to play defense, he tossed a pick just outside the redzone allowing the Kick without moving the ball.

Did the same in Denver, tossed a pick, end of the game.

Did the same when he fumbled the place kick that lost the game

What's his December record? What's his Playoff record? How many Key mistakes did he make this year just not in his career?

None of it matters.
Until Romo shows his fourth quarter prowess in a meaningful game in late December or early January, the narrative will always be that he comes up small in the clutch. Winning games before Thanksgiving is nice, but legends are made when quarterbacks win games after Christmas. Fairly or not, the perception of Romo is that he’s a quarterback who can’t win in December or hold on to the ball when necessary.
