It has been rumored that Thiago silva's wife has been fornicating with a bunch of guys who train there. I guess he found out yesterday and lost it.

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
I think they'd like to build Overeem up a bit before letting Velasquez and JDS have their way with him. I mean they spent alot of money getting him over here and he makes decent cash for a guy who's UFC record is 500! With his look and history I think he's more valuable to the UFC fighting 2nd tier guys looking like a monster than getting killed by Cain and JDS. Scary to think what Cain would do after Reem loses his cardio which would be in the middle of the 1st round!yeahbuddy wrote:That's why I'm saying Dana should throw him to Velasquez.Earl Skakel wrote:As big of a fan as I used to be of Overeem's I think it's pretty clear that he can't fight clean as a roided up Reem finishes Mir and Browne in the positions he had them in. Scary to think how Velasquez would make short work of him as Reem's got the gas tank of a used Miata. JDS/Reem would be a great fight as they don't like each other for real but Reem has a weak chin and JDS's is actually pretty good so I think JDS KO's him in the 2nd.yeahbuddy wrote:My Take-
Aldo has zero ppv value. He's right up there with Ben Henderson.
Dana should throw Overeem to Cain & be done with him. My guess
is he fights JDS.
Too bad for Faber. Personally think Herb Dean called it too quick.
The one thing is Faber has been around the block many times &
should be given the benefit of the doubt of not being hurt. Those
shots that Berao were landing at the end were pitter patter shots.
Dana & Faber will probably use the only 3 weeks to train excuse.
Tonight Faber has become a very well liked & talented gatekeeper.
And that undercard was painful. I can't remember one fight.
Earl
Overeem's performance- nobody wants to see heavyweights fight
the way he fought last night. The fans want to see heavyweights
finish each other or die trying (see Hunt vs Silva).
Wow! What tough guy! Calling out Lesnar like that. Ha!!

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
You are so right. The way Cain mauls his opponent Reem would be lucky to get to the 2nd rd. I watched the 3rd JDS/Cain fight the other night, and Cain is relentless. For being a heavyweight, he has some serious cardio.Scary to think what Cain would do after Reem loses his cardio which would be in the middle of the 1st round!
Another fighter-
What do you guys think of Holly Holm?
I watched 3 or 4 of her fights, and I am impressed.
Serious boxing & leg kick skills.
Wonder when the UFC is going to snatch her up.

Doesn't she want a boat load of money or maybe that is her agent talking. Either way it would be good if she came to the UFC.
Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
She is as aggressive as Ronda, but in a different way. Ronda comes at her opponent like a train. This girl looks like she picks her spots.jellyheadrobertson wrote:yeahbuddy wrote:

I like her size & her kicks are something else.
As far as asking for a lot of money, don't know about that. Do know that eventually Ronda is going to run out women to fight so maybe this girl has the upper hand.
I think McMann has a chance. Her wrestling is just as good if not better than Rousey. Its all about defending the arm bar.

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
So Rashad is hurt and off the fight with Cormier. That PPV is going to suck. MOst likely rescheduling fight as a comain on the Jones fight.
Also, UFC and Melendez have not come to terms on his new contract, Dana telling him to fight somewhere else. And, Dana saying Overeem is ducking JDS. He was offered two fights against him and turned down both. Overeem saying he is injured and can't take the fight. Not a good week for UFC...with the Thiago Silva gun/attempted murder or whatever situation as well

one of the worst weeks that I can remember.
With the Rashad/Cormier fight gone, you are so right!
That is such a weak card.
Overeem says he has a rib injury.

Daniel Cormier will remain on next week's UFC 170 card after all.
A day after the UFC decided to pull Cormier from the card following Rashad Evans' knee injury, the promotion has decided to book Cormier vs. newcomer Patrick Cummins as the new co-main event of UFC 170, UFC president Dana White confirmed with MMAFighting.com.
"I heard about this kid Patrick Cummins before," UFC president Dana White told MMAFighting.com. "The thing that's interesting about this kid is that he was the training partner of Daniel Cormier and claims that he made Cormier cry when they would train together. Not only did he say that, he said he broke him every time, and he said he would break him again next Saturday."
Cummins (4-0) is considered one of the brightest light-heavyweight prospects in MMA. The former Penn State University two-time All-American and national champion runner-up has finished all of his opponents in the first round. His manager, Ryan Parsons, claims over 50 light heavyweights have turned down fights against him since he went pro in Dec. 2012. He currently trains at the Reign Training Center with the likes of Mark Munoz and Chael Sonnen.
Cummins had been campaigning for the opportunity on Twitter from the moment news of Evans' knee injury broke.
"There's a lot of pressure that comes with trying to win a gold medal," Cormier told MMAFighting.com, "something that Pat wouldn't understand since he was only a training partner to me and Kerry McCoy. He wasn't the guy. I appreciate him stepping up and taking the fight, but we're going to see who's going to be crying after we fight next Saturday night."
Cormier (13-0) will be making his light heavyweight debut on the card. The American Kickboxing Academy fighter is 2-0 in the UFC, picking up decision wins over Frank Mir and Roy Nelson. He told MMAFighting.com Wednesday night that he was very upset he couldn't fight next week after working hard to make the weight.
"I'm very sad," he said. "It's very sad, because I've worked hard. So if anyone wants to fight, let's fight."
Patrick Cummins has answered that call.
UFC 170, headlined by Ronda Rousey vs. Sara McMann for the UFC women's bantamweight title, will take place Feb. 22 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
It looks like Melendez and the UFC couldn't agree on the terms of his new contract, and he may take a Bellator deal. Dude loses a razor close title fight that could've gone to him, then puts on a FOTY candidate with Sanchez. It would be crazy for Dana not to try to keep him, his bullshit is ruining the sport. Dana should change it to- "The UFC- where the best fight the best...as long as they're willing to work for peanuts."
Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
Don't get me wrong, I love Dana, but its time to put up or shut up. He's always saying how good the UFC is to their fighters, well let's see.slash4pres wrote:It looks like Melendez and the UFC couldn't agree on the terms of his new contract, and he may take a Bellator deal. And yes, Melendez ALWAYS brings it.
My guess is they match or better the Bellator deal.

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
We really don't know what the UFC offered Gil or what he was asking for. In his two UFC fights, he officially lost to Benson and almost got KO'd against Diego, who's not even in the top ten in the division. With that, I'm not sure he has the leverage to ask. If he can get a better deal with Bellator, good for him. I don't see the UFC budging on what they offered. He has two fights that mean anything there in Alvarez and Chandler. He was stuck in the same situation with Strikeforce. He wanted to come to the UFC but was stuck there due to deal with Showtime. Now, he is finally in the UFC and can fight the majority of top 10 guys, but is willing to give that up and work for a lesser organization with less opportunities. IMO sometimes you work a job for less money when there are other intangibles that are worth more in the long run.
Having said that, Dana has been on a downward spiral ever since the last GSP fight. Calling fighters cowards, liars, etc. If you get a chance read Kevin Iole's recount of this past week's press conference with White. Sounded like he was on a cocaine binge right before it.

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
Melendez has leverage because he is not a boring/play it safe fighter. He always brings it, and that's what the fans want.
Dana cracks me up when he blows up on reporters & is Mr Know It All, but there are certain questions he passes the buck on & knows nothing about what's being asked and replies back something like "I don't know anything about that"

Every EVERY prelim went to a decesion.
I can't stand that Perez guy. They keep talking him up & everytime
he needs to step up, he loses. Tonight they give him a tomato can
to fight & takes the guy out in the 1st rd. Perez looked an entire
weight class bigger than the other guy.
Socara (or however you spell his name) was such a boring fight. There's no reason either of those fighters should've let it go the distance.
And Machida is Machida. It was an interesting fight, but no excitement whatsoever.

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
The Jacaré fight wasn't awesome or anything but he did dominate Carmont and showed he has the skill to be champion.
Machida fight was great, I wanted to see this matchup for a while and I wasn't dissapointed.
Perhaps not a slop fest like Hunt-Bigfoot or Hendo-shogun but the way he set up those knees, the trips...brilliant technique. Made Mousasi look like he couldn't fight.
Could drop the Anderson-esque drunken monkey dance though.
I'm really interested in Machida vs either Belfort or Weidman. MW is becoming my favorite division.

Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
I'd rather see Jacaré fight the winner of Weidman/Belfort than Machida. That whole counter striking he does gets boring. It was interesting to see Mousasi get frustrated as the fight went on & seeing that Machida couldn't knock the guy out with his kicks.mullet_head wrote:The Jacaré fight wasn't awesome or anything but he did dominate Carmont and showed he has the skill to be champion.

Weidman/Belfort fight- I think Weidman takes it. My guess Belfort is going to charge in & Weidman catches him. And good luck with Belfort out wrestling Weidman. That ain't going to happen.

McMann is one serious built woman.
Rousey has never fought an opponent as strong as her.
But everybody else is predicting the same outcome as you,
so what the hell do I know?
Re: The Never Ending MMA thread
That was quick!
Hell of a shot delivered.
Loved after fight when Goldberg & Rogan were talking about
the women who could challenge Ronda and there wasn't one
mention of CYBORG. What a joke. Ronda is so above any other
woman in the UFC its not funny.
DC looked good, but he was fighting a tin can.

Too bad McDonald couldn't knock out Maia, he was dead on his feet.
Cormier looked good, but it was not much of a test.
Rousey fight was stopped early. They should have been allowed to go longer.

Of course if a person gets nailed like that its going to shock the system.
Earlier in the night, wasn't it Dean that let Waldenburg get his head beat in when he was out?
Personally I think whenever it is a championship or main event fight if a fighter gets hit & down like McMann, the fighter should be given the benefit of the doubt because of how important the fight is.
Dana White didn't look so happy at the end of fight.

I'm happy that Rousey won by something other than an armbar, but the way it was stopped won't erase the claims that she's a one-trick pony.
