One of my friends did say it was the worst referring he has seen since the 2011 final. Of course the shoe was on the other foot for the Bruins this time.

I read this as Shero was told to fire Bylsma, he refused, so ownership fired Shero knowing the new GM will bring in his own coach.

That's how I read it at first,but Nick Kypreos's assertion that the Pens are holding out for Babcock peaks my interest.

You're right though,Trotz probably isn't coming here without Shero.

ETA : Rumour now that this firing is the result of Shero not firing Bylsma last year at Lemieux's request.

Rangers 7 Habs 2

Habs looked fantastic. Let's hope Montreal can set the tone and keep up the same momentum. And not keep getting away with too many on the ice and all the slashing.

It's only one game in I'm guessing a long series ahead.

Win or lose, I'd just like to say thanks to the Hab's for knocking that shitty Bruins team and if they do win and happen to face that shitty Chicago team I hope they beat them as well.

With that being said..........Go Rangers! GO!! Game One = SEVEN - two.

I was at the game. Rangers speed, chip and chase game, was way different then the rock'em sock'em style the B's played.

The Habs were emotionless, after going through a heated series with a bitter rival. There was no "eye of the tiger" like you saw vs the Bruins.

Everyone has been picking the Habs to win the series, so this is a good wake up call. Sharks beat the Kings 6-3 and 7-2 their first 2 games, and look what happened. Habs are well coached, with a lot of leadership, the SHOULD rebound.

Note: all bets are off if Price is hurt, as is being speculated after Chris Kreider ran him over (not on purpose IMO).

Not so sure Price is OK. He came out for 5 minutes, an hour before the Habs, optional practice, worked for 5 minutes, and stopped.

That's either, "it's fine, I'm OK, going to rest now" or "it feels like shit, I can't skate on it". There's speculation, since there's 2 days between games 2 and 3, and another 2 between 3 and 4, that he might not start on Monday. That's scary.

After watching it 20 times and the way he responded nothing seems extreme, hopefully for hab's fans.....The optional practice is normal. Just test it out then straight to rubdown, ice and rest.

Looked like Price just took a good shot.....Some ice, rest and hope it don't swell up during the next game, if he can play though it, it will slowly improve after that, unlike a hammy that will nag you constantly forever.

My 2 cents. If he took a shot he should be good if he makes it through the next game...If it's a tear, spur, hyper ex, joint or pull he'll have bigger issues.

I get a feeling we might see him again this series, but in all honesty the Habs didn't lose game 2 due to their goaltending; they lost it due to the Rangers goaltending.

i play with an acl tear. first time i had the surgery and was off work for 6 weeks. tore it again 4 years ago. not getting the surgery this time. gonna need a knee replacement in my future. the custom made braces are the cat's ass.
when you tear a ligament it never heals. if it's a full tear you get surgery.

I cant imagine anyone tearing an acl then playing a few days later. Maybe micro tears but sometimes a tear can take a week before the swelling goes down enough just to get a good scan. Clearly you'd know more about Ligament knee damage while at the same time I have two torn tendons and have to live with scar tissue mending them up just long enough to pop it again.

I imagine with ligaments and tendons both being tissue that both would heal the same way, with scar tissue over time.....Then basically nag your forever. But to play a the next day or a few days after? I wouldn't expect it, possible I guess but it's obviously not TORN if someone is able to play in a few day.
