Thank goodness they changed their mind about Jericho's Mania match with Steamboat/Snuka/Piper. I'm still holding out for Austin.

Well I wonder what Triple H will do to Orton Friday?
Re: The New (Spam Free) Never Ending Wrestling Thread
With the exception of The H vs. Orton and Taker vs. Michaels... the whole card just looks thrown together. Excluding the Taker & Michaels match, this card as it is right now looks like it could be on any other show. NOT good for Mania.silent_eyes wrote:Anyone else just not care at all about Wrestlemania this year?

Snitsky wins Money In The Bank and then...LAglamrocker wrote:with the current WWE roster how would everyone including Sabu and Garbageman...how would you book Wrestlemania 25 complete with story lines?? and no Snisky wins Money In The Bank then cashes in and wins the belt!..truly how would anyone book the show?
I mean...
My card would have looked like this:
The H vs. Orton. I have no problem with this match. Orton goes over.
MITB: Shelton, Matt, Jeff, Kane, Kofi, MVP, Killings, Christian: Allows them to hold off on the Matt vs. Jeff match for a PPV that doesn't need help selling tickets or buys. Matt wins and beats Jeff by cheating at the next PPV and then does a high spot at the end that puts Jeff "out". When Matt tries to go the Edge route with his MITB shot on a champ that just got attacked or injured, he becomes the first to not successfully cash it in after Jeff returns to interfere.
Tag-Unification: If they were going to unify the belts, I would have had a 4-way with Morrison/Miz, Dibiaise/Rhodes, Carlito/Primo, and Cryme Tryme. Not the sexiest match in the world, but gets their top four teams on the card. Afterwards Regal and Burchill destroy the winners.
Legends Battle Royal: If they wanted to go this route with the legend stuff have a legend battle royal. Have Jericho come out at the end an run down the winner and start beating the snot out of him. Have a couple more come back in for the save and have Jericho beat them down too. Finally, have Rourke jump the rail after being taunted by Jericho and just as Jericho is about to attack Rourke: *Glass shatters* Stunner, beer salute with Rourke, Vince gets his mainstream clip.
Taker vs. JBL: Streak continues, Taker gets the IC strap for the first time and helps give the belt a little cred back. It would be a big deal
Helms vs. Kendrick vs. Rey vs. Bourne vs. Kidd vs. Noble Cruiserweight championship scramble. Brings back the belt, jumpstarts the division. Bourne wins.
Show comes out and cuts a promo about not being booked on Mania. Haas Hogan comes out to relive the Hogan/Andre slam... hilarity ensues!
Edge vs. Cena: Yes we've seen it a shitload of times before, but the two of them have great matches together and I'd have no problem seeing them go again.
Swagger vs. Dreamer - Extreme Rules: Stip is Dreamer has to retire if he loses. Dreamer wins. Be a great rub for a guy that deserves it. Gets the belt off Swagger allowing him to get drafted to RAW or SmackDown.
Michaels vs. Punk -#1 contender match. Two solid and over workers that can eat up 15-20 minutes with a good match that the crowd will be in to. Both guys would have built-in backstories with Orton.
Did I leave anyone out that needs to be on there?

i like sabu's card better, but where is santino in all this?
call me crazy, but i think the hhh/orton storyline is the best thing going right now.
and i don't give a shit aboot either one of them.
whomever loses this match will probably be taking some time off.

Re: The New (Spam Free) Never Ending Wrestling Thread
they really should change the title thing around.
world champion
cruiserweight
intercontinental
woman's
world tag team
that's it. worked for the n.w.a. with less titles. it was a big deal when the champ(s) were on your show.

I agree to an extent. But if they are determined to keep the brand split up, they really have to give guys a reason to fight IMO. Also there si no way in hell they would keep the World title over the WWE title. Vince's ego would never allow it.Kid-Wicked wrote:they really should change the title thing around.

Re: The New (Spam Free) Never Ending Wrestling Thread
whatever, call it the wwe belt. but just have one of them. make it mean more. remember when flair or bockwinckle would go to different territories? make the brands the territories. 5 belts between 3 shows. that's lots. it makes the belts worth more.Drunken_Little_Elf wrote:I agree to an extent. Anybody going to watch ECW tonight.
Re: The New (Spam Free) Never Ending Wrestling Thread
You could just get to work on making the IC belt meaningful again. WWF had a shitload of more over talent fighting for the IC belt in the 80's then they have in the mix for their heavyweight title now. Unifying the WWE and World title makes the main champ that much bigger of a deal, and it makes the IC belt a legit title again. You don't need belts to keep people interested anyway. You need strong workers and stronger storylines. Combine the two of those, and the main belt could be made out of lettuce. Wouldn't matter...Drunken_Little_Elf wrote:I agree to an extent. The strong workers the WWE has... it's the storylines and the importance of winning the strap in said storylines that makes the belt, not the other way around. Think about it... how much has the title been referenced the last few weeks in the Orton/Triple H storyline? Not much at all. This is a storyline that should be used with two guys that don't have the belt. It doesn't make the title look like a big deal at all because it has hardly been mentioned. If neither guy were champ, the winner of the Mania match gets the huge momentum and says now that his personal issues are settled, he's ready for the biggest prize of them all! Just like that the belt gets a rub, and the next feud needs little build up to sell itself.

I agree with this. Since the belt has been devalued so much by hardly being mentioned, plus the fact it has changed hands 4 PPVs in a row, I think Orton is going over at WM25 because the belt means nothing at the moment.Sabu wrote:The strong workers the WWE has... it's the storylines and the importance of winning the strap in said storylines that makes the belt, not the other way around. Re: The New (Spam Free) Never Ending Wrestling Thread
Saw some decent indie wrestling in my hometown over the weekend. I didn't even know they had a local fed, let alone actually having some quality product. Show reminded me of an old NWA show in a high school gym. It was held at an Elks Lodge and the production values were pretty decent, and the face wrestlers really worked the crowd during intermission, signing autographs for little kids, taking pictures etc.
I had to chuckle though when the top-heel totally broke kayfabe and acted like a nice guy when I passed him in the restroom. He was like, "What's up man?"
But my 6 year old cousin felt like a million bucks when he got some autographs and high fives while standing near the entrance area. So it was worth any cheesiness factor seeing him have such a good time.

You might recognize some of the workers, but I think they were mostly local guys. One of the heels was wearing what appeared to be one of Kurt Angles used singlets. I even yelled that at him for some heat! "You're wearing Kurt Angle's used tights!!!"

I really do believe that R-Truth should have been involved in the Money In The Bank match. But once again, the WWE is playing games on good talent. My picks on the MITB match.Should win it is Christian. What can I say,I mark out for him.Who will win is MVP.He's has the tools, getting good on the mike, and has been with them for a long time. But I feel like he will be the one that won't translate his win to a world title win.
