Another divisional loss for the Dolts. 2-2, and 0-2 in the division so currently sitting in last place.

They're protecting their players from injury so Greg's just not letting them play as hard.... They're playoff bound you know?

Too early to say they are sliding...but it sure doesn't look good.
A team like that can get old fast. But they could still have a good run left in them.
I'm looking forward to the Redskins/Colts game.

That's just it, they are aging and have a relatively unproven coach. You are right though, it's far too early in the season to make any bold statements about who is the best and who is the worst.

Nah. They've still got #18. They'll be in the mix for the division or at least a wild card when it's all said and done. Nobody stays on top forever, but I don't think those guys are done yet. It doesn't break my heart one bit to see them lose though, especially in the division. I'd love it if they fell flat on their faces and proved me wrong.Tymaster wrote:Horrible loss today. I'm not gonna lie, that was a tough loss today. We couldn't get a defensive stop to save our lives. Reminded me of the Houston game all over again. I think one major problem with this team right now is motivation. We seem to show up and play well in big games, and especially when our backs are against the wall. But in games like these where we are huge favorites and expected by all to win easily, it just seems the defense has problems getting fired up and playing with emotion. Of course, if one or two plays go our way, we win that game. But the ball just didn't bounce our way today. Peyton Manning and Reggie Wayne were simply amazing, it's too bad that effort was all for nothing.
We will come back strong next week, tough game against an undefeated Chiefs team, but we will be back home and hopefully fired up. 2-2 is not the ideal way you want to start a season, but we will get back on track.

Re: The COLTS Road BACK To The Superbowl Starts Sunday!!
It's not just the 2-2 that fucks you up. It's the 0-2 in the division. The season is only 4 weeks old and they're already in a pretty big hole. For the first time in a long time they're gonna have to count on somebody else fucking up to climb back in it. They better figure out how to stop the run because everybody else in their division can run the fuck out of the ball.
Re: The COLTS Road BACK To The Superbowl Starts Sunday!!
Sure, but don't forget we still have houston and JAX coming into our house for a rematch. All in all, 2-2 isn't a horrible start, especially when you consider that 3 out of those 4 games were on the road. We have a lot of home games coming up and a lot of winnable games. I'm still predicting an 11 or 12 win season, and that will get us into the wild card at least.bane wrote:It's not just the 2-2 that fucks you up. It's the 0-2 in the division. It sure doesn't look like the Colts on are on the road back to the super bowl.
Re: The COLTS Road BACK To The Superbowl Starts Sunday!!
We're 2-2 and one game out of the division lead. We still have rematches against Houston and Jacksonville, this time we'll be at home for both games. Houston so far has played 3 games at home and only 1 on the road. We've played 3 on the road and just one at home. So we will have more home games coming up. All things considered, this isn't a horrible start. The way I see it, we went 2-2 in a tough first quarter of the season. We need to improve and hopefully go 4-0 or at least 3-1 in the 2nd quarter, and we'll be right back on track to where we need to be.
It was a disappointing loss because our offense moved the ball AT WILL yesterday. It was truly amazing to see Peyton, Reggie, and Collie working their magic. Two bad breaks resulted in turnovers, and ultimately that was the difference. Defensively, it was a poor effort all around, and needs to be improved, no doubt about that.

Houston is 2-0 on the road dude, and you'd beret check your math on that "one game out of the division lead".poizond13 wrote:We're 2-2 and one game out of the division lead. Yup. Not only are they 1 game behind Houston, as of right now they are behind on all the tie breakers - head-to-head, division record, and conference record. So they would lose out on the division and the wild card. All 4 of their remaining division games are "must wins". They could go 8-4 the rest of the way and be 3-3 in the division and end up losing out on the playoffs. I have a feeling this will be a year in which there are a bunch of 10-6 teams and the tie breakers will decide everything.bane wrote:Houston is 2-0 on the road dude, and you'd beret check your math on that "one game out of the division lead".poizond13 wrote:We're 2-2 and one game out of the division lead. Hell yes I am. You don't win 12 or more games for eight consecutive seasons without overcoming some adversity along the way. We will be fine. I never said there wouldn't be some bumps along the way. These division games are always tough. Jacksonville and Houston are two teams that were purposely built to beat us. From a personnel and philosophical standpoint, they were built from the ground up to exploit our weaknesses and attack us in places that we are vulnerable. On top of that, it's pretty much their Superbowl every time they face us. So we know we are going to get a serious challenge any time we face these teams, regardless of what their record is against other teams. That was clearly the case yesterday, and we weren't up for the challenge. We didn't play our game on defense, we still almost won the game, but in the end we didn't play well enough on the defensive side of the ball to overcome their intensity. Credit to them, they played a great game.Crazy Levi wrote:poizond13 wrote:We're 2-2 and one game out of the division lead. I love how running the ball and controlling the clock is "Building a team from the ground up to beat the Colts". Get off your high horse skippy. That's football 101. Beating the Colts is nothing more than a nice side effect. The book on beating Peyton is keeping him on the sidelines, yes, but teams have been employing that same winning strategy since before he was born.

No offense, but it's pretty well known that the Texans drafted Mario Williams with the intention of getting pressure on Peyton Manning. It's equally well-known that the Texans were treating their game against the Colts this year as a MUST WIN, which is pretty sad considering it was the first game of the year.bane wrote:I love how running the ball and controlling the clock is "Building a team from the ground up to beat the Colts". Re: The COLTS Road BACK To The Superbowl Starts Sunday!!
It was a must win because it was a divisional game and they have placed a premium on a fast start this season after two years in a row of slow starts followed by strong finishes. There's nothing "sad" about that. If "you" had placed more emphasis on it, maybe "you" wouldn't be two games down after a quarter of the season. They drafted Williams to get after quarterbacks, all quarterbacks. They had a pretty anemic pass rush before they got him. Manning is just one QB out of 30 others that they are trying to get on the ground. You have an overinflated view of your team's importance to the Texans. They're a division rival, just like Tennessee and the Jags, that's it. Beating them is sweeter right now because they've been the team on top recently, but if you think they built their team with one opponent in mind, you're crazy. To be honest, Houston fans are a lot more occupied with beating the Titans than they are Indy. The Titans are the hated rival. Indy is just a divisional foe. Sure they want to beat them. They want to win their division, just like every other team in the NFL does, but beating Indy is just the beginning and a means to an end. They're just another obstacle.

Trolling aside, the Colts are somewhat vulnerable due to the fact they have two losses to divisional rivals (and because Houston has apparently found a great running back to go with their passing game), but one look at Manning's stats line thus far tells you he's not lacking for anything. I'd be really, really survived if they're not a play-off team at the end of the year, even though I'd be surprised to see them back in the big game.

Unless the team already has the division wrapped up and is resting players so they will be rusty when the playoffs start.

I agree. It's tough to count Manning out, but I think they have more question marks this season than they have in a long time.demolition23 wrote:Trolling aside, the Colts are somewhat vulnerable due to the fact they have two losses to divisional rivals (and because Houston has apparently found a great running back to go with their passing game), but one look at Manning's stats line thus far tells you he's not lacking for anything. Looking at Indy's schedule(2-2, 0-2, 1-2) and projecting:
Sun 10/10 Chiefs Kansas City W
Sun 10/17 Redskins at Washington L
Bye
Mon 11/1 Texans Houston L
Sun 11/7 Eagles at Philadelphia W
Sun 11/14 Bengals Cincinnati W
Sun 11/21 Patriots at New England L
Sun 11/28 Chargers San Diego W
Sun 12/5 Cowboys Dallas W
Thu 12/9 Titans at Tennessee L
Sun 12/19 Jaguars Jacksonville W
Sun 12/26 Raiders at Oakland W
Sun 1/2 Titans Tennessee W
Indy will expose KC, have trouble on the road with a decent Skins team, lose again to a very good Texans team, beat Cincy at home, have trouble outdoors in the cold in Foxboro, beat a Chargers team that hasn't looked good, beat Dallas, lose in TN, and then find themselves playing meaningful late season games which they will win.
Record: (10-6, 2-4, 7-5)
Houston will take the South, the North & East & 2 WC slots will go to Pitt, Balt, NY, & NE with Indy losing out due to their conference record. If for some reason Indy does end up with a WC slot they will be on the road in the cold in January and it will be one-and-done.

Re: The COLTS Road BACK To The Superbowl Starts Sunday!!
No way we will lose against Wash or Texans at home. We're hungry for revenge against the Texans, and that is a great opportunity to get it at home, and in primetime on MNF. Colts don't lose primetime games at home, and we CERTAINLY won't allow the fucking Texans to sweep us this year. I'll guarantee a victory on that one, mark my words. Also, we have dominated the Pats in recent years.SkyDog112046 wrote:Looking at Indy's schedule(2-2, 0-2, 1-2) and projecting:
