There is a rookie scale now. No more HUGE contracts
like JaMarcuss Russell will be given out.
Endorsements?
Kind of like Tim Tebow has at the moment?
The kid will have to play out of his mind in his rookie season and/or
win the rookie of the year for Madison Ave to come calling his name.
None of which can happen when the kids is a bust in the NFL
or making a living wearing a sweet headset during every offensive snap.
I know there is a rookie scale. A top pick still gets MILLIONS. Call me crazy but I think I could live off that for a while. And Tebow made a shit load off Nike alone.

Fuck the money. Is there anyone here who thinks Manziel will be a good NFL QB?

I don't have the same reservations about him that I had about, say Jamarcus Russell, but he's going to have to have some serious coaching in order to succeed. He's got the arm, he's got the mobility, he's got the "wow" factor, but he doesn't have the size, and I wonder about his desire to do the work to improve his game.

I agree. I think his head is the problem.

I do, provided he isnurtured along and not thrown directly in the mix right out of the gate. I tin he would be a solid 2nd or 3rd stringer for a year or 2 under someone like Brady, or either of the Mannings...hell he would do good just to get taken under by Cam Newton. Newton an Manziel share a lot of characteristics as far as their actual game is concerned.

No doubt the kid is talented and has skills..an no doubt he lacks maturity. In order for him to be a true NFL quarterback, he is going to have to knuckle down and take the job seriously. He has to put in time in the gym as well and add at least 35lbs to his frame, he is a bit undersized when compared to other top QB`s in the NFL.

I would guess there is less than 5% of college football players who are actually ready for the NFL when they are Seniors, let alone Juniors...that number would have to go down to 2 or 3% strictly for Juniors like Johnny who only have 2 years of actual playing time. For him to have success and longevity, he has to make some changes and the people(Coaches, fellow players) ave to get involved and cure him of his blatant childishness. Do that, and I see no reason why he cant become the next Manning..he is that good...IMO.
