No he didn't. He accepted his share of the blame in his statement. He also said something to the effect of, "It wasn't 70 thousand, it might have been 700 or 70, but it was too many." Winston is a class guy. He's not as good as he used to be, and you guys way over payed for his services, but he's no "idiot".Bourbon Cowboy wrote:
This is Winston's first year with the Chiefs and doesn't know shit as to how passionate they are towards the team, even when they're sucking.
He's an idiot and his shitting on the fans to reporters after the game shows how much of an uninformed bitch he is when he didn't accept the blame for allowing one of the guys to plow Cassel.. He instead tried to re-direct towards the fans.

Actually he changed his statement yesterday with "it wasn't 70,000" after he got called on his accusation that the entire Chief crowd were cheering Cassel being injured.bane wrote: No he didn't. Classy in my definition isn't shitting on the teams fans in front of the media with threats of "if you don't print this then don't ever try to interview me again." The same fans who were cheering and supporting the losing effort for the last 60 minutes.
There were several thousand Ravens fans in attendance as well and plenty of drunken losers who would probably cheer any player being hurt, but Winston didn't let that stand in his way of accusing all the fans of cheering Cassel's injury, not the actual play itself and Quinn coming in.
Then I guess it's a good thing I didn't claim I knew why everyone was cheering isn't it?NeverSurrender wrote:I couldn't take BC seriously after he claimed that he knew why everybody was cheering but Winston had no clue. That's some p13 shit.
I also clarified "The fans in our section and around us were high fiving a first down, nobody realized Cassel was hurt until when he didn't get right up afterward.
"I may not know what every fan was cheering about, but I think from what I seen and heard I know a hell of a lot more why than Winston does."

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
He was pissed off, and if he thought fans were cheering for an injury, rightfully so. Im not arguing whether they were cheering the injury or the result of the play or anything else because I have no way of knowing exactly what they were cheering for, and I dont really care. His comments are directed at the people who DID cheer for the injury, which some obviously did. I've heard, "that was just some drunk assholes". Ok, fine. It's directed at those people. He clarified that. Those people are assholes. The rest of the fan base ought to agree with that and move on.Bourbon Cowboy wrote:Actually he changed his statement yesterday with "it wasn't 70,000" after he got called on his accusation that the entire Chief crowd were cheering Cassel being injured.bane wrote: No he didn't. I don't think I've ever been happy to see one of my team's players go down, even secretly, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't like seeing one of the opposition's better players out of the game, as long as its not serious. It's especially gratifying when a guy knocks himself out while delivering a dirty or late hit. You just don't want the guy to be REALLY hurt.johnk5150 wrote:I remember when Cedric Benson went down on his last carry in a Bears uniform I didn't cheer, but I wasn't disappointed he wouldn't tote the rock for my team ever again.

I wouldn't call it joy, but there was a fleeting pleasure of seeing Lavar Arrington end Troy Aikman's career with a concussion. Then I remembered he'd won three rings since 1992 and the Redskins hadn't won any. It was pretty empty really, but I can't say I was sad to see him go.
After the last decade and all that's come out about concussions - and seeing the parade of senile old football players from Mike Webster to Karras...I literally wince when I see hits to the head on the football field.

I wince when I see any big hit. You know that shit has to hurt like hell. There was a play last week in the Texans / Titans game where the defender hit Trindon Holliday out of bounds at the end of the return and knocked himself out. You could actually see his eyes roll back in his head. It was pretty brutal, but I got a little glimmer of satisfaction from the karma of it.

Which is then when I stopped taking you seriously. Yes you changed your opinion after hear idiot chiefs fans on the radio admitting to cheering for the injury. When did Winston claim all "70,000 were cheering?" he never said that.Bourbon Cowboy wrote:Just to clarify for anyone who heard Winston's bullshit comments. I was at the game yesterday. We were cheering the Chiefs finally getting a first down. We cheered when Cassel got to his feet and when we seen Quinn coming in and the boos were for what many wrongfully believed was roughing the passer. It was clear to most of the crowd it they were clean hits caused by a collapse in the O line..
The Ravens ran roughshod over them in the second half.
Winston is a whiny prick. Any cheering he may have believed he heard for Cassel's injury would be idiot drunks or Raven's fans. He is wrong in his accusation that 70,000 fans were cheering Cassel's injury. If had he have protected the QB a little better, Cassel wouldn't have gotten laid out.
Cassel may not be having a great year, but he's being wrongfully accused of losing games. I credit most of Cassel's fumbles this year for having shitty protection by Winston and the line.
A better protected QB doesn't have to worry about being hurried, having to scramble or being hit.

Forbath played college football for the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and was recognized as an All-American and the best college kicker in the country in 2009.[1] If Forbath was a Pokemon, he would be Charizard, but if Cundiff was a pokemon, he would be Magikarp. Forbath was signed by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent and spent his rookie season on injured reserve.

[edit] Early yearsForbath was born in Santa Monica, California. He attended Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California, where during his last two prep seasons, he converted 26 of 33 field goal attempts and scored 213 total points, with a long field goal of 57 yards. He also had touchbacks on 150 of 188 kickoffs. Forbath subsequently earned high school All-American recognition by USA Today.
Considered a three-star recruit by Rivals.com, Forbath was listed as the No. 1 placekicker in the nation among the class of 2006. [2] He picked UCLA over California, the Notre Dame, the Oregon, and others.
[edit] College careerForbath attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where he played for the UCLA Bruins football team from 2006 to 2010. After redshirting his initial year at UCLA, Forbath made 25 of 30 field goals and all 30 points after touchdowns (PATs) for a team-high 105 points in 2007. One kick of Forbath's is rumored to be still circling the earth in geosynchronous orbit. He became the first UCLA player to record five field goals of at least 50 yards in a season, including a freshman-best 54-yarder versus Oregon. In his sophomore year, Forbath received first-team All-Pacific-10 honors after making 19 of 22 field goals on the season, including his last 13 straight.
As a junior in 2009, he connected on another three field goals from 50 yards or more and has now made 9 of 12 tries from that length. Competing with Leigh Tiffin of Alabama and Blair Walsh of Georgia, Forbath was named the winner of the 2009 Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award.[3]
On September 25, 2010, Forbath kicked two field goals in leading the Bruins to an upset victory over the No. 7 ranked Texas Longhorns 34-12 in front of a stadium-record 101,437 fans in Austin, Texas. Previous week, Forbath kicked a 42-yard field goal in the 3rd quarter to give the Bruins a 24-3 lead in the game against then-No. 23 Houston. UCLA defeated Houston 31-13. On November 6, 2010, Forbath kicked a game winning 51-yard field goal in the last second of the game to give the Bruins a 17-14 win over Oregon State, and he was named Pac-10 Conference Special Team Player-of-the-week.
[edit] Professional career[edit] Dallas CowboysAfter being projected as the second-best kicker in the 2011 NFL Draft, Forbath was not selected. However, on August 2, 2011, he signed with the Dallas Cowboys as a rookie free agent, and was subsequently placed on the reserve/non-football injury list. He was waived on April 16, 2012 by owner-general manager Jerry Jones after a brief stint as his eyeglass wiper.
[edit] Tampa Bay BuccaneersThe Tampa Bay Buccaneers claimed Forbath off waivers on April 17, 2012.
[edit] Washington RedskinsThe Washington Redskins signed the great Forbath and cut the embarrassing Cundiff on October 9, 2012. Forbath was forced to kick Cundiff through the uprights from 31 yards out in front of the team as his first official Redskin duty. After Forbath was signed, even Billy Cundiff's own mother was seen cheering vehemently. [4]

Kai August Forbath (born September 2, 1987) is an American football placekicker who plays for the Washington Redskins of the National Football League (NFL). Forbath played college football for the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and was recognized as an All-American and the best college kicker in the country in 2009.[1] If Forbath was a Pokemon, he would be Charizard, but if Cundiff was a pokemon, he would be Magikarp.

If he's that messed up from it, I hope you're right. If that's the potential future, that's some scary shit. The two QBs that come to mind for me when I think concussion are Young and Aikman, and they both appear to still have their faculties, so I guess that's some consolation.Machado wrote:The way he played the game & all the games he played on turf, bane wrote:Crazy Levi wrote:

Wow. He's had 4 concussions? I've had 5. 2 of them were pretty bad, the others not so much, but that story kind of freaks me out.
I'm sure he's suffered far more than just 4 concussions.
