I think they'll pull off the series after the win today. Man, though, Boucher made a couple REAL dumb mistakes behind the pipes.John Simon Ritchie wrote:Flyers OT win. We'll take it. Though they've played way below what is expected from them as far as solid, fundamental hockey, the heart is still there. Hopefully, this will wake 'em the fuck up and take the wind out of Buffalo's sails for game 7.

Man, to be honest, I've seen way too many boneheaded plays out of The Flyers this series. "Play twice as hard, half as smart" that should be The Flyers motto.

Re: The official NHL thread
It's a sad season to be a Canadian hockey fan. First Canada loses the WJC to Russia 5 goals in the 3rd period. That was rough but then only 2 Canadian teams made it to the playoffs this year in the NHL. Vancouver and Montreal. Both are 1 lose away from elimination. I think Vancouver has the best chance to win game 7 against Chicago but Montreal is pretty much done. They have to win their next 2 games against Boston and Boston just looks too strong for Montreal imo. When both Canadian teams are gone that is when the playoffs end for me. At least there is always next year. Lets hope the Canadian teams don't suck as bad in 2012 as they did in 2011. (I'm also hoping Phoenix goes back to Winnipeg next year!)

Bodog has 5 to 1 odds on Luongo being pulled tonight. That's good fuckin' value.

Has Luongo ever been the difference-maker in a series,in a positive way for his team I mean?I can't remember any of his teams winning a series because he stood on his head or anything.Even last year's Olympic team won despite his gaffes, not because he played awesome in net..

I don't know about the Olympic take. The team was much better after he took over for Marty.Gibsonite wrote:Has Luongo ever been the difference-maker in a series,in a positive way for his team I mean?I can't remember any of his teams winning a series because he stood on his head or anything.Even last year's Olympic team won despite his gaffes, not because he played awesome in net..

I think that was mostly because they knew they had to score more goals or else they'd be screwed lol

It doesn't get much better than tonight if you're a hockey fan. For what it's worth:
- Bruins will eliminate Habs - the Habs are just decimated with injuries and are out of gas IMO. Valiant effort, but maybe next year.
- Flyers survive against Buffalo - Sabres will pay for not closing out Philly at home, and blowing a lead in that game.
- Canucks redeem themselves and eliminate the Hawks - If Luongo has any pride he kicks ass tonight. Same for the Sedins and Ryan Kessler. Do the 'Nucks miss Malhotra or what?

Well what the fuck. Buffalo can't score because there are too many orange people screaming at them

Re: The official NHL thread
Good job Canadiens, you beat us 5 on 3.
I'm not one to blame a loss on the refs, typically i'll blame it on Julien, but the refs really fucked us in the ass tonight.

I've been listening to Vancouver sports radio all day. They're all ready to kill themselves. As a Cubs fan it's great to hear another fanbase that down on their team before it's even over.WOLF wrote:

Stop the hating, ya moron. Great game by Boucher. Special thanks to that fuckhead Patrick Kaleta for running his mouth to Briere and Hartnell to wake Briere up and have him light their asses up in return. Oh, and a Goal by Carbomb to add insult to injury. Fuck Buffalo. Adios!Anne_Thrax wrote:Well what the fuck. Buffalo can't score because there are too many orange people screaming at them
