I know people like to shit on TNA, and I think their current product is crap as well, but from what I gather from the middle school students I teach it has managed to get a foothold (maybe a toehold) with some of the younger demographic. They seem to just recently have discovered it and and they love it. You add Rey and Kennedy, and I think it adds to their product. You really can't overestimate Rey's popularity with kids and Latinos. They love the little fucker.

Don't forget,if you add Umaga,Taz,and Mr Kennedy to that, the kids would like it even more.

Sure it would! Rey against Evan, Tyson Kidd, Jamie Noble, Jimmie Wayne Yang, etc. would be GREAT!

The problem is, the writing team is stuck on this whole giant killer thing. That's why he keeps wrestling guys like Big Show, Mike Knox, JBL, Edge, and so on. It's gay. This feud with Jerico was at least believable. I'm just sick of the little burrito muncher. Time to move on.

back in the stampede wrestling days ed whalen was the announcer. he also did games for the calgary flames. whenever there was a big match up he'd call it a "ring-a-ding-dong-dandy".

Oh,ok.It appears that this Ed guy was a sorry wrestling announcer.Figures.Anyway here's a picture of what Lex Luger looks there days:
Image

And now,here's some wrestling news:
A number of TNA wrestlers stopped by Jim Ross' J.R.'s Family Bar-B-Q restaurant following a recent live event in Oklahoma City. TNA World Heavyweight Champion Mick Foley, Robert Roode, James Storm, Rhino, Matt Morgan and a few others went.

At last Friday's TNA live event in Abbotsford, British Columbia, the crowd really got on Earl Hebner's case during the Angelina Love vs. Taylor Wilde match, chanting "You screwed Bret." In a funny moment, Love grabbed the house mic and said, "I never screwed Bret." The TNA Women's Knockout Champion won with her feet on the ropes with Hebner playing a heel ref overlooking it. Wilde chased Hebner to the back following the match.

The June 22nd edition of WWE RAW will be a historic broadcast for World Wrestling Entertainment. For the first time ever in the show's 16 year history, RAW will air without any commercial breaks. No word on whether the show will feature alternative product placement to make up for the lost advertising revenue, but it should be interesting to see how this change affects viewership. The commercial-free show will take place from Green Bay, WI and will be the final RAW before The Bash on the 28th.

From Tara (Victoria)'s official MySpage page:

Response to a Vicious Lie
I try not to respond to rumors. It’s a lose-lose situation. If you don’t respond, it seems like you may be avoiding the rumor because it is true. If you deny it, you are bringing more attention to a lie. Well, in this case I’m gonna respond. A MySpace friend emailed me yesterday to let me know that a wrestling gossip website is claiming that they have an anonymous source or sources that say I was Chris Benoit’s secret mistress at the time of his murder-suicide. First let me say, this is absolutely false. I invite the “reporter” from that website to come to my home city, and I will submit myself to a polygraph. If this website is at all concerned with the truth, they should jump at the opportunity. But frankly, I think they are just concerned about sensational headlines, and couldn’t care less about the facts behind it.

And the timing sure is conspicuous.Years after the event, but hours before my TNA wrestling debut. Could it be that a certain wrestling organization is concerned about what kind of impact that I will make in TNA? And what kind of coward would make such a powerful claim, and hide in the shadows of anonymity. Come forward. Legitimize your claim.

I have made every effort to move on and take the high road. The worst thing that I have said is that I wanted a different role. Believe me, in nine years with that organization, I have been aware of behavior so deviant that it would shock the devil himself. But as the old saying goes, the only thing certain about a mudslinging contest is that everyone gets dirty.

And finally, let me say this. To spread a lie like this hurts the survivors of a tragedy that already have gone through immeasurable suffering. Although it doesn’t excuse his behavior, studies on Chris Benoit’s brain after his death showed severe damage from years of wrestling-related injuries. That, mixed with mood and hormone altering drugs led to a horrible outcome. Before that, as we all have heard, he was very dedicated to his family. Don’t drag these victims and their families through vicious lies for the sake of attempting to take the wind out of my sails.

Again, I think the website that first posted this should feel obligated to come out here and polygraph me. Stand by your story.

But in the end, all you’ve done is hurt some innocent people with lies, and frankly, pissed me off, and motivated me to make TNA as good a product as I can.

I'm reading the book "Ring Of Hell" right now, which is about Benoit, and while nothing in the book surprises me, it is a non-stop chronicle of sleaze and brutality.

In other words, it's a fascinating read...

That book is amazing. I read it last year in one sitting, and it really blows the lid off of a lot of the sleazy shit that goes on in the business. I'd highly recommend it to anyone interested in wrestling.

MISAWA PASSES AWAY AFTER BACKDROP IN HIROSHIMA MATCH PDF Print E-mail

Mitsuharu Misawa, one of the greatest pro wrestlers of all-time, was declared dead at 10:10 p.m. Saturday night at a hospital in Hiroshima after being dropped on his head in a tag team title match.

Misawa would have turned 47 on June 18th.

Misawa & Go Shiozaki were challening Bison Smith & Akitoshi Saito for the GHC tag team championship in Hiroshima and Misawa was dropped on his head at about 8:45 p.m. and knocked unconscious.

According to eye witness reports, Saito gave Misawa a "routine" back suplex that was described as a "7" in danger on a scale of one-to-ten. He did not get up. It was chaos in the ring as they attempted to revive him using CPR and the crowd was hushed for a while, and began a "Misawa" chant. He turned purple in the ring and was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance.

His heart stopped beating in the ring. The cause of death may have been a heart attack.

The wrestlers were told on the bus that he had passed away.

While it is being reported that he passed away at the hospital, he may have actually passed away in the ring.

Misawa was the Japanese high school national wrestling champion at 187 pounds in 1980, and was recruited by Giant Baba into All Japan Pro Wrestling. He gained his first taste of stardom in 1984 when he was chosen to be the second Tiger Mask. After unmasking in 1990, he became an even bigger star after a series of singles matches with Jumbo Tsuruta.

He was Japan's biggest pro wrestling star of the 90s, and one could make a strong case for him as the top wrestler of the decade. He was the Wrestler of the Year in 1995, 1997 and 1999.

After the death of Shohei "Giant" Baba, Misawa wrestled a little over one more year for All Japan Pro Wrestling, while working as company president. After consistently butting heads with owner Motoko Baba, the widow of Shohei Baba, he and 90% of the All Japan roster quit the company to form Pro Wrestling NOAH.

Punk was saying something along the lines of that he does the things he does that is best for him. He didn't really get any heel heat. Although Jeff is so over that it MIGHT work to get Punk some heat. They are going to have to work at it though, and need to get Edge out of the story, since he is a heel, I think it is confusing alot of people. People are still cheering for Punk because Edge is still in the mix as the heel.

It will probably be more along the lines of Jericho heel. Punk will still have a nice group of fans no matter what, just like Jericho does.

Jeff Hardy is so over that WWE will bend over backwards to sign him. Add that to the fact that HBK and Taker are out (Mysterio's status is unclear) and the WWE is lacking in top faces.
Jeff is one of the only wrestlers who appeal to all demographics. The guy sells a shit ton of merch.
