Miami's coach has that team moving in the right direction. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they got a wild card berth this year. I wouldn't be surprised if the Colts get the other one. Both those squads are better than most people thought they'd be.dtmfs wrote: Should be a good game, I'm not guerenteeing shit, I've already seen what that shit can do. I'm not really sold on Miami but they're better than most expected, They have a pretty nice D, but their offense is mediocre and the jets just arent that good. I think Indy's the better team and when miami gets a lead they tend to get complacent So If i'm betting I'd say Indy probablu wins.

I haven't seen much of the Dolphins, but they are definitely blowing expectations out of the water. Tannehill seems to be a guy they can build around for the future and Philbin is doing a good job. Just goes to show you how little those preseason predictions really mean.bane wrote:Miami's coach has that team moving in the right direction. The jury's still out on Tannehill, but that defense is for real, especially against the run, and they can run the ball. Philbin got rid of the prima donnas and that team is starting to really ball. I don't think they're ready to knock off the Pats, but they're headed the right direction.poizond13 wrote:I haven't seen much of the Dolphins, but they are definitely blowing expectations out of the water. Re: NFL 2012 Thread
Yeah normally I'd have been excited as a fan after seeing Tannehill throw for 400+ yards like he did a few weeks ago, but in this day and age games like that arent rare anymore. It's hard to say "Finally they have a QB for the first time since 99', Hell I was dumb enough to believe in Culpepper when they got him, Oh and whats worse is they passed on Brees to get Culpepper
, They also could've picked Matt Ryan instead of jake Long, but after 17 years of watchin Marino While it was fun and they were always in the playoff hunt I'd like to see a more balanced team, kind of funny that When Marino was old and mummified They finally had a Great defense, then they Got Ricky Williams when He was actualy playing like the guy Jim Brown thought He would be albiet for one fucking season before going loco, been a mess ever since then, for reason as a kid I picked three teams that I wouldn't see titles from til' 2008 when 2 out of 3 of them won it all but the dolphins still sucked.

The Lions beat the Sehawks I got the score wrong but got the winner and point spread right. Hopefully they dont blow an easy win against Jacksonville.
Then I get to argue with Neversurrender for a day.

Nope. You don't claim they deserve wins after they are physically dominated in a loss.

Why does Andy Reid still have a job? Has a team ever had 0 turnovers and still lose by 30 before? At home?

You can't just fire Andy Reid right now...he has done too much for the organization and it's not like it would turn around their season. He's gotta be gone but either he'll resign or it'll be in January.johnk5150 wrote:Why does Andy Reid still have a job? Has a team ever had 0 turnovers and still lose by 30 before? At home?

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
This is a story that will make you shake your head and make you wonder how family members can harrass this guy for $$
Family members have been pressuring Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Tyron Smith for money, sources told ESPNDallas.com.
According to a police report obtained by the Dallas Morning News, a 911 call was made after family members showed up at Smith's North Dallas home and proceeded to "harass and torment" him "in the pursuit of collecting financial gain."
It was just the latest in a series of attempts to get money from Smith, sources confirmed Thursday after the situation was first reported by the newspaper.
Smith declined comment after Wedneday's practice at the team's practice facilities in Valley Ranch.
According to sources, family members have continued to ask for money even after Smith gave a large sum of money to them after he was drafted with the ninth overall pick of the 2011 NFL draft and signed to a four-year, $12.5 million contract by the Cowboys.
Smith filed a protective order against his mother, Frankie Pinkney, and stepfather, Roy Pinkney, over the summer, sources said. Smith has three sisters and two brothers, who also are prohibited from making contact with Smith on behalf of his parents.
Multiple sources told the newspaper that Cowboys security had to remove one of Smith's family members from the team's practice facility during training camp in Oxnard, Calif., which is two hours from where Smith's parents own a cleaning business in Riverside, Calif.
Smith grew up working in the cleaning business with his mother and step father. After he was drafted he talked lovingly of them and the Cowboys mentioned how well he was raised when he was drafted.
Smith is being represented by Dallas-based attorneys Royce West and John Schorsch, who said that the player was forced to turn to authorities to handle the matter.
"Lesser means were tried and they weren't successful," Schorsch told The Dallas Morning News. "You can use your own imagination as to what it took for a guy that big and that imposing to be that worried."
Schorsch told ESPNDallas.com Thursday that Smith is "a good kid. This is hard on him. But he's handled this with dignity and grace, I'm proud of the manner in which he's handled it."
Joe Panos, Smith's agent declined comment.
"I think every player and every coach, really around this league have different things going on in their lives and you just have come into work and do your job as best as you can," coach Jason Garrett said of Smith on Thursday.
Garrett said he didn't see the issue affecting Smith

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
Tampa Bay has traded CB Aqib Talib to the Patriots.
He comes with baggage and is currently suspended (1 game to go I believe)
but he can actually play defense which is more than most of the roster can say.
No word yet as to what the Pats gave up.
Edit: Talib and a 7th for a 4th.

It's not a great way to build a team either. PLenty of "men of the year" types get in trouble...remember Eugene Robinson?
There were stories that Joe Gibbs went after Mark Brunell because he's a "man of faith."
Should have gone after Ben Rothlisberger instead.

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
I agree. I do like with the idea of trying to stock your team with good character guys. The Texans are pretty notorious for passing on a more talented guy with baggage in favor of a less talented dude with better character. You never hear any Pac Man Jones type stories coming out of Houston as a result and their locker room seems to be a productive one. I don't think faith is necessarily an indicator of good character though.Crazy Levi wrote:It's not a great way to build a team either.
