Re: NFL 2012 Thread
Firstly, the GM didn't say it, the interim coach, Bruce Arians, did. Secondly, that's something that comes from the top, team owner Jim Irsay. He's always said faith is an important part of his life and of course it comes into play when he's building his football organization. I think it's no coincidence that under his ownership, we've had very few players with character issues on the team. Those types of issues have never been a problem with the Colts. You'll notice, we don't have any DeAngelo Hall type players on our team, and that's by design.Crazy Levi wrote:That's a fucking bizarre thing for a GM to say.bane wrote:"Atheists may not be welcome in Indy"

We're at the halfway point of the season. How are your preseason predictions looking? The AFC leaders are who I thought they'd be, and the NFC has surprises all over the place.

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
COLTS win! Another great win, another amazing performance by Andrew Luck, this time he breaks the record for passing yards in a game by a rookie! This guy is just sick! He is everything I was expecting for and then some. Actually, he is even better than I ever expected for a rookie. Most importantly, we are 5-3 and firmly in the driver seat for a playoff spot, though there's still lots of football left of course. But it appears this team is finally healthy, playing on all cylinders, and getting better and better by the week. Look out.
Give Miami credit, they have a great team. Tannehill played well and looks to be the best QB they've had since Marino.

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
Was a great game and Luck was on fire, during that last drive miami did what they always seem to do since Marino left, commit stupid penalties on a potential game tying drive and tannehill threw two bad passes. that last run was also insane, the refs should've held back the whistles and see if He'd of just carried the entire D to the endzone on his back.poizond13 wrote:COLTS win! Fun fact:
Broncos and Colts are 5-3, and Manning and Luck both have thrown for 2,404 yards.

REGGIE WAYNE continues to tear it up! Last year many people thought the Colts should and would let him walk away. They thought he was over the hill. Well, he is currently having his best season yet and leads the NFL in receiving yards. He's one of the main reasons we have a 5-3 record. His production on the field, and his leadership off the field, are invaluable to the team. Best off season signing of the year!

I see your Tillman and raise you a JJ Watt. Kind of strange when the two spotlighted players are on defense huh? I don't have a clue how that game is going to go. I had it penciled in as a Texans loss at the beginning of the season, but at this point, no idea. Depends on who shows up. Both of those teams are capable of greatness. Both of those teams are capable of laying eggs. I haven't seen the line, but I'd guess Houston will be the underdog for the first time all year.johnk5150 wrote:7-1 Houston coming to 7-1 Chicago Sunday night.

Meathead, what do you think of your team having "homecoming" while the media talked about how RG# didn't want to be compared to Scam?
I thought RG3 was too smart to get caught up in that bull. RG3, you don't want to be compared to scam, STFU and make your own identity.
A tall qb who can run and throw? Why wouldn't they be compared?
But who the fuck has a homecoming in the NFL?
BTW Ponder, you still blow. You're worse than Tarvaris Jackson. WORSE.

Honestly I have no idea what the fuck you are talking about.
I left the bar at the end of the 3rd quarter and didn't watch any postgame. Once again the Redskins and their pathetic roster have quit on their washed up coach before Thanksgiving. Although I did read this morning that the coach has now quit on them, which is a novel approach - he's doing "player evaluations" for next season.
Shanahan sucks. The Redskins suck. Snyder sucks. I tip my hat to the rest of the league, including the obviously awesome Andrew Luck, and call them my daddies.
Shanahan should be fired this offseason, but it's not gonna make a difference. Instead of hiring a real GM, Snyder will throw 15 million a year at someone like Cowher or Sean Payton, give them complete control of the team, and allow them to hire three of their kids on staff, and nothing will change. It never does.

And yeah, RGIII is awesome. He'll make a great QB for someone when he leaves this organization for one that isn't awful, as long as Shanahan and his son don't get him killed first.

This is a team that is in YEAR THREE of a rebuild. Yet Shanahan has assembled a team with virtually no talent that any other NFL team would want. You've got RGIII. And about 2 or 3 other guys. The defense is pathetic. You've got no #1 draft picks until 2015, and you've got no cap space.
So yeah, bitter is a word for it. I've seen this movie many times since Snyder bought the team, and it's just terrible. The guy has destroyed the team and there is no relief in sight. I was never crazy about the Shanahan hire but I thought by year 3 we'd at least be fielding a presentable team.
Nope. Shanahan SHOULD be fired after this season but I cringe at the thought of whatever genius "plan" Snyder comes up next.
You've read my prediction here: He'll throw an insane amount of money - and complete control - to a super bowl winner like Cowher or Payton, and the results will repeat themselves.
The only super bowl winner I'd get on board with is Gruden, for the record, as long as he wasn't made GM as well.

Uhh, again, ok. RGIII just had the first bad game of his career, and his coach - with 7 games remaining - has just announced he's giving up on the season. If the guy is a little cranky and wants to bitch about something, hey, good for him. I've got no problem with RGIII and he's got a right to an opinion. He's still saying the right things - HE hasn't given up, even if his washed up coach and pathetic teammates have.NeverSurrender wrote:Ratahan didn't make him complain about the media comparing him to scam.
