When Brady and Peyton retire not only will the rivalry end, but half of both fanbases will probably lose interest. Golden years for both franchises never to duplicated. Well the Colts less so.
With the Patriots it will be the day Belichick leaves, because as long as Bill is here the team can be competitive. But I wouldn't be surprised if Brady and Belichick leave at the same time.

The Colts without Manning would be finished.

Just think how many dogs you could buy with that kinda lettuce.
Congrats on being the first to put together the fact that Vick and dogs are somehow connected.

It's a refreshing humorous take on the life and career of Mike Vick.

It is rumored he is going to retire at the end of this year if he wins the Super Bowl. He would have 6 Suiper Bowl Rings, maybe he is happy with that. Kraft is a savvy owner, he will find someone.

No scheduling conflicts or anything, but my DVR refuses to let me put tonight's Bears/Browns game in the queue. Just flashes a message 'Really?'.

 Putting the finishing touches on a rack of ribs out on the grill and the Great Lakes Holy Moses is icing down. Preseason or no, game time means chow time along with hoisting coldies.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to watching a game tonight too. This last preseason game is all about fringe players making the team so no matter which team your watching you probably won't see many starters. It's fun to see the last couple of guys play their way onto the roster.

Final cuts this week, and real games next weekend!

Preseason is not good for the casual viewer. Great for die hard's of a particular team though for sure. DO NOT think the nfl should be charging full price for tix for exhibition games though.

Tonight's games are a tough sell going up against real NCAA ball. I'm doing the picture in picture thing with the NFL game on the small screen.

I thought Kerry Collins looked great tonight. If Peyton cannot go, he'll do an admirable job filling in. Although I do fully expect Peyton to be ready to go. My bigger concern right now is our starting rookie LT who did not play well tonight. He's gotta shore some things up quick or we'll have some serious problems.

Big cut day coming tomorrow or Saturday. I expect some big names to perhaps be cut loose. Anthony Gonzalez is probably done as an NFL player. Donald Brown is a possibility, he has not shown us anything since being drafted a few years ago. Delonte Carter should pass him up on the depth chart. Jerry Hughes would certainly be cut if he weren't a #1 pick last year, and even still has a small chance of being let go. We've also got way too many defensive lineman, hard to say who'll be the odd men out. Will be very interesting for sure.

Dumb article written with the intention of getting a lot of clicks. If you watched the game, you'd know Collins made some big time throws. He's still got a big arm and his accuracy was excellent. He fell victim to some dropped passes and blown assignments on the o-line, but for the most part his rhythm and timing were good.

Went to Jets/Eagles tonight.

Been to the stadium before, nice place.

Concessions are INSANE.

With HD I'm not really sure I see a reason to go to many live games anymore.

Plus, not to sound like a dick, but I know how to cook. So, another reason not to go.

Like, insanely good? Insanely expensive?

I wasn't too impressed. They have LOTS of concessions but it's all the same shit repeating itself every other gate. I thought the meatball sub was pretty good.

Starting the season with a bang. New Orleans at Green Bay should be a great opening game. The over is 47. Wow.

Expensive

When we get there (me and GF), we order 2 beers, a "small" order of chicken fingers, and fried clams....$35

At the half 2 more beer, a hot dog (no fries or any other shit with it) and a pretzel....$31

Got a Sanchez number tee on sale for !5, but still. Not sure what the advantage is to going to a game anymore with HDTV and stuff.

Yeah, I know it's not the Pros, but I went to see a Dartmouth College game once and it was tough to see what was going on. Ok, there's no big screens, but if I wanted to watch on a big screen I'd get one at home.

It is the Lions time. Its not about the players as much as Jim Schwartz. He has made every player look good. I'm not even that worryed about Stafford, since Stanton has still been making plays with far less then the starting team backing him.

It's cut down day. Any big names cut from your team?

New England cut Brandon Meriweather and Sammy Morris.

Texans cut Xavier Adibi. Surprised me. He's a damn good linebacker. They didn't cut Steve Slayton, who I figured was gone for sure.

Not only that, but if you feel the need to get out of the house and enjoy the game with some brethren, every sports bar worth its salt has 40 + HD screens and mad specials. Many of them are team specific on Sundays. In Columbus, OH there is at least one bar that is devoted solely to the fan clubs of each of the 32 NFL teams. Some places are obscure. The Vikings Backers used to (they may still) rent a Chinese Restaurant that had a bar, lol. The Browns and Bengals of course have multiple venues, as well as the Steelers. Many places show EVERY game on at least one screen.

The latest word is that Manning has been told by doctors not to practice and he is doubtful for week 1.
http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=A ... ts-manning

He just got off the PUP list last week and recently started practicing and has been having issues. I can't see them letting him play, especially since his recovery is slower than expected and he may need another surgery.

Manning has to be a least a month away from being able to have contact, and if he needs more surgery he is finished for 2011. I'm no Colts fan for sure, but if he is done the season won't be the same without him.

Colts will be a disaster without manning.

And it's not like they have their future qb waiting in te wings.

I may eat crow for typing this, but I had the Browns starting 1-1. Beating the abysmal Bengals in the season opener and then going over to Indy and getting schooled by the Colts. Based on what I saw out of the Colts in preseason, and with a chance that Manning may not be ready by week two, I'm thinking the Browns may start the season 2 and 0. And that would make me very happy!

Even if Manning can play in week 2 he will have only had a week or so of practice. He has been known to start slow even with a full training camp and considerable work in 4 preseason games. At best he'll be in late July form, more than likely he will be like any other player who has just finished rehab and isn't even close to game shape and doesn't have the timing down.

I still think he is at least a month away and probably 6-8 weeks from being game ready. If he was only going to miss one game and be ready to go for week 2 they wouldn't have brought Collins in.

Manning has never had considerable work in preseason.

The Colts haven't shown anyone shit in the preaseason in years.
