So do the Falcons run the table and finish 16-0?
I don't think so.
The weakness is the D and there has to be a team coming up that
will defeat ATL.
The offense is solid and has so many weapons. Last night Julio Jones lined up at tailback and took a toss left for a 1st down. How many WR's in this league can do that? Not many!

They might. They have a cream puff schedule. I could see the Bucs or Giants beating them, but that's about it. They 'll get rolled in the playoffs though.Machado wrote:So do the Falcons run the table and finish 16-0?

That's the thing. To date Dallas has played the toughest schedule in the league.bane wrote:They might. They have a cream puff schedule. A schedule like that has to ease up, possibly giving Dallas a chance to run off a big streak of wins.
Contrary, ATL has played an easy schedule, so maybe that will catch up to them and teams can exploit their weaknesses and tack on some losses.

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
Atlanta's schedule is easy all year. Unless you think the Saints or Bucs are a threat, (the Bucs might be) the only real quality team they have to face is the Giants. The Cowboys just suck dude. I know they've had a tough shedule, and there's no shame in losing when the other team is just better, but the Cowboys implode every time. I don't know if its Garret or what, but that team doesn't have any heart.

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
My team travels better than your team.
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutd ... --nfl.html
When the Chicago Bears routed the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, they were cheered on by scores of Bears fans at LP Field in Nashville. Orange and navy jerseys filled the stadium, and chants of "Let's Go Bears!" broke out several times throughout the Bears' 51-20 win.
Nashville wasn't quite prepared for the many Bears fans who descended on its town, as bars ran out of the beer. NBC Chicago reports that the Paradise Trailer Park Resort, just across the river from the Titans stadium, was out of bottled beer by Sunday evening. The Whiskey Bent Saloon had just two brands of beer left by the time the Chicago contingent left town.
The Chicago contingent made itself known in more than the bars. Jay Cutler, who went to Vanderbilt in Nashville and still has a home there, said it felt like a home game.
"They've travelled well. Hats off to our fans, it's been a fun year -- Dallas, Jacksonville, here it's been crazy to watch the Bears fans take over," Cutler said after the game. "You know you have a ton of fans when you're in an away stadium in the red zone and I'm trying to get the crowd to hush up and they're responding. They got quiet in a hurry, so it makes it fun."
The Bears are now 7-1. If they keep up their winning, Bears fans will likely drink a few more cities dry.
Dear San Francisco bars. Order more beer for a week from Monday.

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
Peyton Manning is one smart guy. He's achieved greatness at his position, not so much on the strength of his arm or his athletic prowess, but because he's always been the smartest guy on the field. Nothing is more illustrative of that than his buying a bunch of Papa John's pizza joints in a state that has just legalized smoking weed.

A while back I was mocked for stating Andrew Luck is a future MVP and hall of famer. Well, he's already an underdog candidate for MVP in his FIRST year, and the jersey that he wore during last week's record performance is headed to canton for display at the Hall of Fame. Guess it wasn't such a stretch after all.

Like most items from significant games, the jersey will be on display for one year and then removed. Good for Luck. I still hate him and hope he gets destroyed each snap.

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
Took this from NFL.COM:
There are so many good quotes from Jimmy Johnson during his Wednesday appearance on the "Dan Patrick Show" that it was hard to pick just one for this headline.
The former Dallas Cowboys coach knows his old team well and believes he knows why it has struggled for so long.
"The No. 1 motivator (in the NFL) is fear. Fear of maybe letting down your teammates or being embarrassed or chastised or fear of losing your job," Johnson told Patrick. "Where is the fear in Dallas? There is no fear in Dallas. It's a country club where everybody is buddies."
Cowboys coach Jason Garrett should be fearful of losing his job, Johnson believes. This week's Desperation Bowl in Philadelphia might be the biggest game of his career.
"I think Jason is probably coaching for his job the rest of the year," Johnson said. "I think this game with Philadelphia, I think this game may decide the futures of players and coaches with those two teams."

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
Wait, they're actually sending Lucks jersey from a regular season win in which he broke a year old record by 2 yards in the most pass happy era of the NFL ever to Canton?
that seems a bit much,a playoff game I can see but a regular season game?

It's a record, nonetheless. And none of the things you mentioned make it any less impressive. If Luck keeps this up, he will have the best rookie season for a QB ever, bar none. And he's only getting better every week.dtmfs wrote:Wait, they're actually sending Lucks jersey from a regular season win in which he broke a year old record by 2 yards in the most pass happy era of the NFL ever to Canton?that seems a bit much,a playoff game I can see but a regular season game?

Yeah, it's really cool how Indy kept Manning and drafted Luck so Luck could learn under Peyton this year instead of letting Manning walk and using the cap space to build a team around a rookie QB. Just as you said.poizond13 wrote:A while back I was mocked for stating Andrew Luck is a future MVP and hall of famer. Re: NFL 2012 Thread
That's what I thought was best at the time. I don't mind admitting now that I was wrong on that. Clearly the way Mr. Irsay handled it was best for the team. The Colts will now become a case study for other teams transitioning from a franchise QB and aging roster. The way we handled it will become a model for teams for years to come. Within one year we already have a competitive team and a completely new core of foundational players.SkyDog112046 wrote:Yeah, it's really cool how Indy kept Manning and drafted Luck so Luck could learn under Peyton this year instead of letting Manning walk and using the cap space to build a team around a rookie QB. JJ is fun to root for. He seems like a genuinely good guy and probably the most electrifying front 7 player since LT. Watching his career unfold is going to be awesome. Still have no idea how that game is going to go though. Texans nose guard has broken ribs and a punctured lung, Tate is still out and Daniels is dinged up pretty good. I hear Tillman may miss the game due to his wife potentially going into labor. Lots of what ifs.johnk5150 wrote:As a Bears fan I'm torn between the love of my team and my man crush on JJ Watt.

Indy at Jax tonight
Jax has lost 5 consecutive games
Indy has won 3 in a row
Could this be a trap game for Indy & the kind of game
that Jax can steal on their schedule?

Yeah, remember how you told me i was stupid when i told you this would never happen, and you said i was stupid for not understanding the new salary cap, and how they would play on the sam team, and how stupid I was? So, since I was right, and you were wrong, are you stupid, and don't understand how NFl teams work? Or how Peyton Manning's ego works?
Are you stupid now?

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
You said it wasn't possible. You thought Luck would be getting a $50 million contract, because you were unaware of the new rookie salary cap. That's why you said it was impossible. You were wrong, because it was a possibility. The Colts just chose to go in a different direction. That doesn't make you right. It still makes you wrong, as usual.
PS- Do you want to trade the Vikes record for the Colts record?
