Unless Chip Kelly is involved in some kind of scandal I'd be surprised if he ever left. Phil Knight from Nike basically controls UO athletics and the coaches are taken care of very well. As far as being a "big name" he will be soon if that team keeps beating teams by 40 points. They are amazing to watch.Crazy Levi wrote:I'd rather have an NFL guy - the only college guys in history who won a ring are Johnson and Switzer. And my grandmother could have won a ring with the team Switzer inherited.
I've heard Chip mentioned before...is he a "big name?" Seems like there's a good chance Snyder will go for him.

The Bears vs Texans was some ugly, sloppy old school football , but I'll take it. Houston is 8-1!

I was surprised when he didn't come back in after the half. I didn't think he got hit that hard. It might have been a different story if he had. He was killing Houston with those runs.johnk5150 wrote:That was Cutler's 4th career concussion. Ouch.bane wrote:The Bears vs Texans was some ugly, sloppy old school football , but I'll take it. On another note...A drive killing holding penalty, a drive killing fumble and a drive killing 25 yard pass drop. Is there anything Kellen Davis can't do?

Good WIN by Dallas yesterday at Philly.
Finally the defense was able to intercept a pass and force a fumble in the same game.
Returning those 2 turnovers for TD's was a nice sight as well.
Terrific punt return for a TD as well.
I overheard a stat yesterday that said since approx 1990, a team that
begins the season 3-6 has a 1% chance of making the playoffs.
Big win for D yesterday if they want to keep their hopes alive for a postseason birth.
Still need to clean up all the penalties on both sides of the ball
O-line and the false starts are still ridiculous
D-line and jumping off-sides has to stop Too often the offsides penalties gave the
Eagles a free 1st down to keep their drive alive.
WTF!!

There were way too many dumb penalties from both those teams. That goes straight to coaching. That RT from Philly, Dunlap I think, ought to be cut. What a hack.Machado wrote:Good WIN by Dallas yesterday at Philly.

They looked like shit. That defense can make almost anyone look like a Hall of Fame QB. They need to put Edelman back on defense.Facedown wrote:Good thing the Patriots had two weeks to get their shit together.

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
How about the 2 fake punts by the Rams, in their own territory yesterday?
Fisher showed a lot of balls calling those plays.
I can't decide which was my favorite.
The pass down the sidelines to the right, or the fake run and lofted pass to the
left side of the field.
Either way, great play calling.
No way the 49ers were looking for a fake on the 1st and 2nd attempt.

The Ram's hiring of Jeff Fisher is looking pretty much genius, and Bud Adams looks like an idiot for firing him. That guy can coach.Machado wrote:How about the 2 fake punts by the Rams, in their own territory yesterday?

In yesterday's CFL action, Edmonton's rookie QB, Matt Nichols, suffered a dislocated ankle. Check out the pic if you dare. If you don't wince, you ain't human. Not quite Theisman-esque, but close:

not to take a peak

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
Vick's already uncertain future with the Eagles was placed further in doubt Monday after he was diagnosed with a ''pretty significant'' concussion.
The tackle by Ratliff probably did the most damage.
Then on the next play Vick lost his balance and fell to the ground.
The play seemed innocent, but possibly any additional blow to the head by the ground
did not help his cause.

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
That was obvious from the beginning. Fisher is and always was a great coach. He pretty much had his choice of going to any team with a coaching vacancy, so it wasn't much of a choice for the rams. Of course they wanted him.bane wrote:The Ram's hiring of Jeff Fisher is looking pretty much genius, and Bud Adams looks like an idiot for firing him. Not sure what open is, but his foot/ankle is facing the opposite direction of the rest of his leg. Pretty sure the human foot is NOT supposed to turn 360 degrees.Machado wrote:no chance man.WOLF wrote:In yesterday's CFL action, Edmonton's rookie QB, Matt Nichols, suffered a dislocated ankle. Fisher is great at coaching shitty and young talent...he is terrible at winning when he's supposed to though
he'll get the Rams to overachieve...but just when u think theyll bust through theyll look horrible again
didnt the Patriots score 50 points in the first half against him in 2009?

If I was Bud I wouldnt want him either...time to get over the hump

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
That team looked a whole lot better under Fisher than they have under Munchak. Fisher spent the last few years there trying to win with Vince Young, a guy he never wanted that Adams forced on him. Adams is a cranky old man that has to swing his weight around every now and then to remind people he's still alive. Fisher is a good coach, but his teams are dirty. I'm glad he's not in my team's division anymore.Heenan Snuka wrote:bane wrote:
