Schefter: Believe the Hype on Andrew Luck
http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/page/10s ... er-10-spot
Some interesting tidbits:
-Before a game was even played, one Colts executive proclaimed Andrew Luck as "one of the top of five quarterbacks in football."
-"there aren't many quarterbacks in the NFL that any team would rather have than Luck. "
-"In the weeks leading up to the 2012 draft, one team called Indianapolis and actually told it to name its price, to come up with a package it wanted in return for the No. 1 pick. That team was willing to ship off all its picks, plus players, for the chance to draft Luck. It would surrender one of the richest, if not the richest, packages in NFL history. But Indianapolis never even responded with a proposal. It wanted Luck."

If Detroit loses today to GB they're toast right?
Serious question. I'm considering benching Matt Ryan today against AZ for Carson Palmer against the Saints. Just seeing what Ryan did to NO last week I'm thinking Palmer has to put up a big number right?

Pretty much, they have to play GB again, Chicago again, Houston and Atlanta. Not an easy schedule for any team.johnk5150 wrote:If Detroit loses today to GB they're toast right?

AZ has had low scoring games all year so tough for a fantasy QB. But I have been getting my butt kicked this year in FF so I may not be the best advice.

So in not gonna make a big deal about it, since the Redskins suck and all, but I'm sitting here in a luxury suite watching RG3 school the Eagles.

14 of 15 for 93 percent, 200 yards, and 4 tds. 84 yards rushing too. I'll take that.
God fucking damn.
And again, they'll throw Andrew Leaf out there and let him throw 45 times and complete 55 percent.
I've seen the future. It's precision. Speed. Brains.

The big story is that Philly may be the worst team in the NFL. I don't think they could beat the Chiefs at this point.

Blood pressure check in Houston today. Wow. A W is a W but that game was way too close for my liking.

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
Johnson was money today. Blackmon had his first real breakout game and played awesome. Texans and Jags almost always play each other close, but I sure wasn't expecting it today. Nice to see the Texans get it done with their backs to the wall though. That's the first time they've had that opportunity all year.WhiteHouseSubsAC wrote:Andre Johnson got me 62 points today. You are absolutely right - Rookie QBs- like Andrew Luck today for instance, often collapse when actually faced with good teams.WhiteHouseSubsAC wrote:I'll let you finish your mangasm but you realize it was against the Eagles right? But I'll just enjoy what was today a PERFECT performance by the Redskins' rookie, another in a season full of them. If the Skins could ever build a competent roster around this kid could really be on to something. Dallas is up next.
Do I dare dream of 5-6?

Luck came unglued in New England today. Two pick-6's and a fumble that led to a TD on the next play. Almost reminded me of a vintage Peyton Manning playoff performance.

What is this, the third 2 INT game of his career?

By the way how ridiculously on point was my prediction of 55 percent for the boy wonder?
Why is he so inaccurate?

And this against a bad NE defense that made a bunch of backup QBs look like Canton enshrinees.

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
This game went as I predicted. You can't win on the road, or anywhere for that matter, when you turn the ball over and make that many mistakes. We were in control of this game until one mistake led to another. We have a young team and we still haven't learned how to win big games on the road. It's nothing the Patriots did, we beat ourselves, plain and simple. When you have a young team and rookie QB, that will happen. I don't give much credit to the Patriots at all, they just took advantage of our mistakes and turnovers. It was a poorly played game and they were the beneficiaries.
On the positive end, we put ourselves in position to not need a win in this game. No one really expected us to win this one, including myself. Although of course we wanted the win, it was not a necessity. We're still 6-4 and in good position for the playoffs. This will serve as a learning experience and the team will work even harder to get better. On to next week and a tough Bills team at home.

Levy, calm down. I've never seen anyone so excited over a 4-6 team and a QB that threw 15 passes.Crazy Levi wrote:Andrew Leaf does this all the time. Also, you're a sore loser, Levy. After a bad week for the Skins or good game for the Colts, you disappear from this board without comment. When things go your way you celebrate like a little kid at Christmas. You can mark my words, I will always appear after a win or loss. I don't need to hide from here like a little girl.

Seems to me your team actually lost to the Jags. How quickly you gloss over that one huh? Who's going nowhere in the playoffs? Your boy wonders might get in, but they won't get out of the first round. Houston is 9-1 son. You lost by 35 today. Thirty fucking five! It's one game, losing is losing whether it's by 1 or 100. Just answer me one question, boy, what is the Texans lifetime record against the Colts? I seem to forget. Answer that question and we can proceed to further debate.bane wrote:Seems to me your team actually lost to the Jags. How quickly you gloss over that one huh? Who's going nowhere in the playoffs? Oh wait, I was wrong.
THREE ints and I gave him too much credit in my prediction - 54 percent, not 55 percent.
Jesus fucking Christ p13- how can you keep talking shit - week after week - about Rg3 when luck has had at least THREE worse games than griffin has EVER had?
It boggles the mind. How many multiple ints is Andrew Leaf planning on throwing this season?
