Get the fuck out of here with banning kickoffs. These corporate fucks are getting really annoying.

Well, they should ban offensive linemen with big asses as well -- just ask Sanchez about the concussive potentials lurking there.

I'm kind of torn on this kick off idea. The ball gets kicked through the end zone most of the time these days anyway, unless the kicking team has a shitty kicker. That whole 4th and 15 thing sounds kind of cool on some levels, but it's really XFLish.

This is a big deal to me, guys. If this shit happens, I will have to reconsider life as an NFL fan. No shit. Did I just say that?

Agree 100%, I'm at an all time low as far as my ineterst in the game the last few years, Goodell needs to go, leave the fucking game alone it's been fucked with enough.NeverSurrender wrote:

I've never been one to complain about Goodell, but he's been awful this year. 20,000 dollar fines for face masking penatlies. ED reed's BS suspension.
Fuck this guy.

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
I'm not crazy about change, and I think this idea is pretty kooky, but when you take the initial emotional reaction of "oh fuck no!" out of it and look at it rationally, it could actually add a little strategy back that has been lost with the current kick off rules. Most teams would just punt, which adds the possibility of a block, but most if the time field position would end up being what it is now anyway. I like it better than just giving the ball to the other team on the 20 which is another idea being tossed around. That would seriously suck.NeverSurrender wrote:Cool, or whatever, the game has changed enough. Stop it, already.bane wrote:I'm kind of torn on this kick off idea. Re: NFL 2012 Thread
Yeah, we don't need gimmicks.
There is no initial fuck no reaction. That's how it will stay. I'm sick of them making the game for people who don't give a fuck and trying to prove they care with their concussion BS so the the money they pay out to the old players will be less. Should've taken care of them in the first place, then many of them would'nt have even sued.
Rich, corporate fucks ruining everything. Again.

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
I guess we disagree then. I'd rather them not do anything at all, but the competition commitee doesn't care what I think. With that in mind, I think it's a better idea than eliminating kick offs all together. Either way, it's not going to make me stop watching the NFL any more than the tuck rule, pass interference and instant replay did. The league survived legalizing the forward pass and moving the goal posts. They'll survive this too.

Sure they will survive. They will never go away.
But this will most certainly lose them some fans.
I won't bash your opinion, but lol at comparing this to moving goal posts or the forward pass.

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
Why is it that different? It changes the game. So did moving the goal posts. The forward pass dramatically changed it, sure, but my point is, the league got through it. I'm sure a lot of people were opposed to those ideas at the time too. Ill bet a lot of people said they'd quit watching too. The NFL is bigger than ever. Nobody likes change, myself included, but it's still the best game going.NeverSurrender wrote:Sure they will survive. They will never go away.

You're welcome to your opinion, man.
So am I. And actually i liked watching college better this season for the first time in my life. Very few personal foul calls, and they don't baby certain players. It's kind of nice.

I love pro football and it would take more than this to piss me off.
For all the talk of "killing the game" it seems the NFL is more popular than ever. These guys have carte blanche to do what they want.

The best part is that it's that asshole Schiano, who thinks it's cool to dive at an unsuspecting 0-lineman's knees in victory formation, but thinks kickoffs are fucking barbaric.
And i had this asshole's back.
And i had this asshole's back.

I think most people would say the same thing you're saying, but I don't think we're in the minority in our reaction if it actually were to happen. Most people would bitch about it and say they missed the good old days while they turned their TV to the NFL game. I think the game was better 20 years ago, but I still watch it now as much as I did then.NeverSurrender wrote:And meathead and bane, you guys are in the minority here.

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
That probably puts you in the minority. I don't have a problem with your opinion. I just think you're a lot more worked up over it than most people are. There may come a time when the NFL goes so far with this shit that it starts to hurt their bottom line, but they're nowhere close to it.NeverSurrender wrote:I don't.bane wrote:I think most people would say the same thing you're saying, but I don't think we're in the minority in our reaction if it actually were to happen. Bane, "worked up" is not the right choice of words. I get worked up when somebody treats my mom wrong, not when somebody bastardizes the game i love.

I disagree. Plenty of people say it now, but I think you over estimate the amount of people that will quit watching the game. People say a lot of shit, but very few will actually walk the walk.NeverSurrender wrote:And plenty of people feel the way i do.

Re: NFL 2012 Thread
This thread has now reached 88 pages!
Which of course is the number worn by prized free agent acquisition Pierre Garcon, who is finally realizing his promise for the Washington Redskins, even without being fully healthy.
"We should call him the "comeback kid." Garcon showed no signs of a lingering toe injury that sidelined him for six of the first nine games of the 2012 season. Over the last three victories for the 'Skins, Garcon had 15 catches for 197 yards and two TDs."
He's going to be a beast next season for sure. Skins are 5-1 this season with Garcon on the field, and 1-5 without him!
Fortunately, looks like he'll be on the field against the ravens, and for the rest of the season as the Skins continue their surprising push toward the playoffs and possibly even an NFC East title.

I don't remember anybody claiming they were done watching the NFL ever. Not that what you type means anything.

The FACT is, when you yell fact, nobody gives a fuck.
That's a fact.
