I don't see the rule change happening. It's a nice gesture toward 'player safety' But Commissioner is still an appointed job, and he can get voted out correct?
It's pretty much in the definition of football at all levels and to change it would generate a level of outcry unheard of from peewee football all the way through College and the AFL.

I don't think it will happen either, but these days, it's tough to put anything past them. The commish isn't the guy who implements rule changes. There's a commitee that comes up with recommendations and the owners vote on them. The commish is just a mouth piece that handles discipline, throws his weight around and acts like a dick.sin wrote:I don't see the rule change happening. Dolphin players are now claiming the Patriots disrespected them last week by running the ball with a 7 point lead and 8 minutes left in the 4th quarter.
http://nesn.com/2012/12/dolphins-defens ... ek-13-win/
The Patriots beat the Dolphins 23-16 on Sunday, but the manner in which it was done isn’t sitting well with some of the Miami players. When the Patriots put the game away in the fourth quarter on a 16-play, 77-yard drive that ended with a field goal to ice the game, they did so thanks to a run-heavy attack. Of the 16 plays, 13 were running plays and what’s more, six of those runs were through the same hole in the Miami D. As a result, backup defensive lineman Tony McDaniel wasn’t too happy with Josh McDaniels‘ play-calling. “It really [ticked] me off,” he said, according go the Palm Beach Post. “It was disrespectful to us to run the same play over and over and be successful. “Normally when somebody’s driving down the field you just think, ‘Well, they just had a good run there,’ but you run the same play over and over, as a competitor that [ticks] me off.” Ultimately, though, the Dolphins and Patriots are professionals. So if the Fins were so upset about the play, they should have done something about it on the field. ‘It is disrespectful,” tackle Randy Starks explained, “but you’ve got to stop it. We never stopped it, so I’d keep running the same play, too.” The Patriots likely will, when the teams meet again in Week 17.

Running the 2-minute drill up by 5 TDs with 3-4 minutes left is disrespecting a team. Grinding out the clock with half the 4th quarter left is Smashmouth Football 101. Tony McDaniel ought to get NFL Pussy of the Year for that quote. I can't see any opponent respecting him after that one. Hell, even Pop Warner kids won't respect his candy-ass after that quip.bane wrote:SkyDog112046 wrote:Dolphin players are now claiming the Patriots disrespected them last week by running the ball with a 7 point lead and 8 minutes left in the 4th quarter.

Yep, but it was also Puss13. You just don't remember because the bandwagoner only talked about them when Cutler was the qb and they were in the news.demolition23 wrote:Wasn't Vandy TuffmuffTygertailz ?!NeverSurrender wrote:I said Vandy never wins shit. The competition sucks ass though. I mean, hockey, basketball or football? The first 2 suck ass so most will stick with the NFL no matter what. But that's really a casual fan decision. A real fan will stick with his team no matter what.poizond13 wrote:During the whole referee situation this season, plenty of people said they were "done" watching NFL. None of them followed through. These things come in threes. My prediction for the third NFL incident will occur when Andrew Luck goes to take a shit and accidentally drowns a nutswinging P13 in the toilet bowl water.
Fortunately, the story has a happy ending when all the solid waste gets flushed at the same time.

I smell a QB controversy in Washington, with Cousins winning that game for them.
But in all honesty, I am glad RG3's injury is not serious. However, there's a good chance he will miss some time. With his playing style and physical build, Skins fans can expect him to get injured 2-3X per year.
Colts move to 9-4 and unofficially clinched a playoff spot! With both Cincinnati and Pitt losing today, it is extremely unlikely that we don't make it in at this point. Andrew Luck has done the unthinkable. This team has blown away expectations. What a season!

Andrew luck can thank his defense and Jake Locker for today's win.
Re: NFL 2012 Thread
Wrong. Defense certainly did their part in the second half and stepped it up nicely. But don't forget the fact that Luck had his SIXTH game winning td drive of the season. He was under heavy pressure all day and performed well.bane wrote:Andrew luck can thank his defense and Jake Locker for today's win.

Keep in mind folks, Luck continued his season of turnovers today. Two interceptions and one was a pick six. That is 23 turnovers on the season.
Also..... Andrew Luck's Total QBR today was 18.4 - the lowest in a game for any QB in a win this season (min. 40 action plays.)
