When was the last time you saw an angels baserunner get thrown at at home vs the Yankees? Like you said Jake, the angels have bent over the Yankees for many years.JakeYonkel wrote:Teixeira had a GREAT spring. To be exact, he hit .362/.423/.596. Like I said though he got hit on the arm and his last few games before the season started he was sucking. And he's carried that over into the regular season, because I think he's hitting around .100 through 10 games or so.
Maybe I personally give Scioscia too much credit because he's always bent the Yankees over, but it seems like a lot of the guys that always gave the Yankees fits are gone now (Lackey, Kennedy, Molina, Figgins). Either way he's a 1st-to-3rd, score-from-2nd, balls to the wall kinda guy and I respect that.
Last night I find it very telling that Matsui was thrown out at home.
Could that be a sign that the angels dominance over the Yankees is finally over?
Hughes threw really hard last night. He was hitting 93/94 and getting hitters to swing and miss on his fastball.
After the game Girardi said all 5 of his starters will get an extra day of rest coming up, meaning Hughes will not be skipped when the team plays at oakland next week.
