Did your family ever live close to a chemical dumping ground when you were a child?

Re: NFL 2011 Thread
I'd bet it was a nuclear power station that LAdumbrocker's family lived by when his/her mother was pregnant. And she drank like a fish and smoked like a chimney at the same time.

Conditions for Saturday night's Denver @ New England game: Cold and windy with temperatures around 15 degrees.
Conditions for Sunday's New York @ Green Bay game: Mid-20's with a chance of snow.
Yeah! I was hoping for some good old time winter weather football games. And while it's not exactly another ice bowl it's better than watching teams playing indoors.

Broncos should have been called for illegal motion on last play of game last week. TE and Royal were moving at same time

I don't understand the concept of cold weather teams building domes. Use the weather to your advantage. Fans DO NOT skip out on game because of weather. Buffalo, Chicago, Cleveland, Green Bay, do just fine at the gates. Detroit, Minneapolis, and to a lesser degree (inclimate weather wise) Indianapolis, will say "but it got our city a chance to host the Super Bowl!" Big deal. Cold weather domes get one token superbowl. And everyone involved will bitch about being there in February. Detroit and Minny should be playing in the snow. End of story.SkyDog112046 wrote:Conditions for Saturday night's Denver @ New England game: Cold and windy with temperatures around 15 degrees.

I don't get it either. Some of the best football games of all time involved snow and cold. The fans will sit through anything as long as the game is good. I think a lot of it has to do with wanting to bring in the corporate crowd and in addition to them wanting all kinds of amenities they want a sanitized environment. I understand building domed baseball stadiums in places with bad weather so they don't end up with 30 rainouts a year but football can and should be played outdoors.Tymaster wrote:I don't understand the concept of cold weather teams building domes. Re: NFL 2011 Thread
Thing is, I've never "froze" at a Cleveland Browns game. Underarmor, fleece, carhartts, thermal, etc. All relativelycheap. I ride bikes year round so I just wear my cold weather gear to games. I'm warm as could be. As far as amenities go CBS and PBS both offer plenty of boxed seats/luxury suites and the like. The super rich fans of the Browns and Bungals can watch a game live in person and never be exposed to the elements. Underground parking with elevators leading straight to their suites. Wtf they didn't do this in Detroit, Minny, and Indy is beyond me. Minny has a chance to build a new stadium, I hope they return to the great outdoors.SkyDog112046 wrote:I don't get it either. I won't make my picks based on the spread, so here are my winners
Pats win by a large margin
Ravens win in what should be the most competitive game of the weekend
Saints over Niners
Packers win BIG over Giants

His critics call him "Coach .500," but even his worst Oiler/Titan teams were always a team to be respected. One of the best coaches of the modern NFL era, easy.WTF wrote:Smart move. .542 winning percentage and will surely get his team to stomp on some heads...Facedown wrote:Rams to hire Jeff Fisher.

Since we don't have the Colts to laugh about this weekend, here's Jim Irsay with his tie around his head.
