Would like to see him fight Ferguson. That would be a good fight.

Ferguson is not deserving of headlining a ppv. Besides he's lined up to fight the russian in April. That's going to be a fight.
If it happens my guess it will be either Cerrone or Nate Diaz. I hear Pettis wants it as well. The problem with that is he has lost 2 in a row so he doesn't really deserve it. You could say Diaz doesn't deserve it, but he looked great in last fight, and people love that guy or really hate him. And the trash talk those two would have would be epic. The issue with Nate is he likes to smoke weed. Will he pass a pre or post fight test? Probably not.
My guess is it will be Cerrone.
And I will be really surprised if it doesn't happen at all.
Doesn't surprise me Aldo took a pass.
And the chance of RDA busting McGregor- Nah, RDA doesn't fight in angles at all. He comes in straight on. McGregor would pick him apart like he did Aldo, like he did Siver, like he did etc etc etc.

Dana has reported its Nate Diaz.
The catch is its at 170lbs.
Hmmm, McGregor takes care of Nate, maybe Robbie Lawler next at ufc 200?
Hmmmmmmm, very interesting.

This sucks though...now we get Diaz, who hopefully doesn't get popped for marijuana in his system...he didn't know he would be fighting and that shit is in your system for 2 to 4 weeks. He also didn't have a training camp for this. Just like the Mendez fight, McNugget will have an advantage in that he had a full camp against guys who didn't.

I hope this turns out well

I'm kind of curious about these two paragraphs...

"Dana (White) called me, telling what happened and asking if Aldo was in shape to fight," Pederneiras told Combate. "I said he wasn’t and that there wasn’t enough time, and unfortunately he wouldn’t be able to fight next week."

During a recent media scrum in Rio de Janeiro, Aldo, who lost to McGregor in 13 seconds back in December, said he "returned to training a while ago, adjusting my weapons and getting better," but didn’t expect his next move to "be decided until dos Anjos’ fight with Conor."

If he returned to training awhile ago why wouldn't he be in shape to fight?

Just guessing, maybe he's not ready to make weight? Some of these guys walk around 30 plus pounds over their weigh-in weight. Not saying Aldo does, but for sure guys like Johny Hendrix do. A guy like Aldo that was champ for so many years, and his camp probably figure it ain't worth it unless he is at peak preparedness. Yeah, he talked a lot about "anytime, anywhere...". But the reality is he looks like a chump if he loses bad again. So only way he fights McGregor is when he feels 100% prepared. Guys like Cerrone, Diaz, Pettis...etc...this is just a pay day and a chance to make some headlines. Aldo is McGregor's bitch if he loses again like he did.

Makes sense.

That "anytime, anywhere..." comment though is now being thrown in his face even though he probably didn't think he'd get just a little over a week's notice.

Yeah, if you're gonna say it, be prepared to eat shit if ya don't back it up. Cerrone, Benson...those guys will fight on a couple days notice no problem. And they have.

Aldo has never been known to be a "company" man. He's blown off & said no to so many fights. He just put himself further back of the line.
Jeez,
When Anderson Silva fought Chael the first time he had a bad rib, but fought & pulled out a hail mary submission.

Diaz & weed- so he will get tested after the fight? If so, he'll probably come back positive, but not care. He wants to fight McGregor.

Yeah, the Diaz brothers don't say no to a fight. High as a kite? No problem, just write the check.

Edgar ain't happy about the way he claims Dana made it sound like he refused to take the fight. Can't say I disagree with him. UFC is about money, they don't give a shit about most competitive fight.

The conversation b/w Dana & Nate went something like this-
"Hey Nick, we want you to fight McGregor, you in??
"Hell fuckin' yeah, sign me up"
"Now you are clean right? We don't have to worry about any tests coming back bad, right"?
"Nope".
"Okay".

I love Frankie Edgar, but getting sick of all of his whining. It seems every time he gets passed up he has bitch & moan like a baby. Frankie has never been much of a mover when it comes to ppv sales.

Edgar is a great guy. Great fighter. Dud ppv draw as you mentioned though. Is he right? Yeah, but the only people that care are guys like me (same home town).

Bottom line...Dana doesn't "need" Edgar, Dana "NEEDS" McGregor right now. So he's gonna do whatever he has to do to make McGregor happy and his fights interesting.

I don't understand that policy. Weed is not a performance enhancing drug. Why does the commission even give a shit?

Is it simply because it's illegal, or would they have a problem even if it was legalized?

That its illegal, pretty much.
Also, because its illegal Dana has to treat it as such.

You'll learn that Dana is somewhat a blow hard. He's toned it down big time the last year or so.
I give him, Joe Silva, & Sean Shelby(?) credit because they make the fights the fans want to see.
My guess the fans wanted to see Diaz or Cerrone fight McGregor. Don't know what happened with Cerrone. Like somebody else mentioned, fighters like Cerrone & Benson Henderson will fight at a day's notice. Others like Aldo say they will, but never do. Too bad Bendo went with Bellator.

From what I saw, Dana said Cerrone threw his hat in the ring, but Diaz got picked. Makes sense... A much more exciting fight prospect.

You could see McGregor truly got pissed when Nate mentioned steroids.
I hope Nate is in shape when this happens.
Remember when he got his ass handed to him by RDA. He was in terrible shape. But he mentioned afterwards that he had an injury so couldn't train 100%. But on the flipside, he looked in tremendous shape against Michael Johnson.
My take is when/if McGregor beats Diaz, he'll go against Lawler at 200.
He doesn't seem that interested in fighting RDA since the guy backed out less than 2 weeks out.
When he isn't all showboating & everything I find McGregor an interesting guy that has some interesting takes on fighting & other fighters. The guy is no dummy.

Nate had John Cena hair so it was easy to hate him at first, the other guy grew up Stone Cold Steve Austin fan you could tell, he brought wwe to ufc that's why he has millions now, good for him
D White didn't show up but his little clone did.

Still not giving up Lita Ford at Saban to see this event live, it was fun

You forget to mention that McGregor has mad skills. Probably the only one close is Jon Jones. Although JJ is his own worst enemy. McGregor knows how to fight & definitely knows how to sell it.

So,
was the crowd there going crazy or what?
