Now you are just being stupid. There was never any proof of anything nefarious regarding the Patriots' three Super Bowl victories. Certain types of taping didn't become an issue until just before the 2007 season when Goodell sent out a league-wide memo on it. Up until that point there were no restrictions on taping. Taping is still allowed, only some things are not allowed to be taped. In fact camera crews can and do tape sideline action for team sponsored NFL shows and can do so as long as they wear special vests identifying them. A Patriot employee got caught taping something during the 1st quarter of the 1st game of the 2007 season. No team employee even had a chance to view that tape before it was confiscated and subsequently destroyed. There is zero evidence that they ever benefited from any type of illegal taping. It's just something that idiots can fall back on when they try to dismiss past successes.

I don't think spygate is the reason they won 3 titles but it is funny that with all the great teams they've had including the best team they've ever had(18-1), that they're 0-2 in both SB's they were favored in. Don't know why they were favored this year but they were. And spygate will forever be a black eye on that franchise, fair or not.
