Why are you fighting Levy's battles for him? Is he going to let you suck his dick twice tonight, instead of once?

What an ignorant statement. Go look up 1991-2002 Cincinnati Bengals and then see if that fits your description of someone that changes teams.bigbuttskinner wrote:It sounds fucking terrible, actually. It seems you're just a casual fan and don't give a fuck what your team does. You're the kind of guy that has probably changed teams five times during your life. And then . . . the 1998 draft . . . it dawned on me that I knew way too much about players that would never be on my team.
Since then, after the playoffs I avoid the football message boards until after the draft aside from a weekly check-in to see any news updates. THEN I'll take the time to read three or four write-ups on each draft pick and not get all upset on who was still available when we took some unknown project at Safety from Canoe Lake State.
Much more enjoyable that way.
The truth is that later in '98 I went to Germany and discovered how cool soccer is set-up. The NFL last played a game around two and a half months ago. The last two months have been discussions about what-ifs and free agency, most of which never involves the Bengals until AFTER all of the big FAs sign. The next four and a half months are going to be a waiting game with the only competitions being 4 or 5 practice games that no one cares about. Basically, for over half of the league, the NFL is a four month long season, September through December. The NFL loves it when idiots say "There is no off-season in the NFL".
In four and a half months, when my team plays a game that counts, I'll yell scream and holler for three hours 16 different times in 17 weeks. Meanwhile, depending on the time of year, I have anywhere between 35 to 75 soccer matches at my disposal every Saturday for the rest of my life and basically around 100 every week.

There is a communist's forum somewhere I'm sure, but I don't post there.
So I doubt most communists care which homes get searched. They probably have their own person they are hoping gets searched.

You're one of the idiots that says there is no off-season in the NFL
So you're tough because you watch more football than I do?
You're more ignorant with every sentence. I guess people that watch MMA and UFC must be real badasses.
I got tired of . . .
Referee huddles after every other play
Illiterate 20 year olds being paid millions of dollars for what they did in college and never doing shit in the pros
Illiterate 20 year olds having a camera and microphone shoved in their faces
Three to three and a half hours to watch a game
The embarrassingly stupid NCAA "amateur" set-up
Useless bowl games
Single digit IQ football fans (Steelers, Raiders, Cowboys) and Fantasy Football geeks
Moronic mock drafts
Seven month off-season, eight months for most of the league
TD ... review ... Extra point ... commercials ... kick off through the end zone ... commercials ... false start ... encroachment ... injured player ... commercials ... holding ... three and out/punt ... commercials
QB gets injured . . . usually, game lost or season ruined
Watching fat fucks play three plays and waddle off to grab an oxygen mask.
Roger Dildell and crew adding 10 new rules every year
Five weeks of practice games
Supporting a system based on Communism
(the layout below is real, not sure of the percentage breakdown since the last CBA)
NFL has fans of their teams . . .
Buy a jersey
4% to player
5% to team
31% to other 31 teams
25% to NFL offices
35% to Nike or Under Armour or whoever is contracted to every team by the NFL offices
Soccer has supporters of their clubs . . .
Buy a jersey
10% to player (if it's personalized)
60%-70% or more to team
30% or less to whatever company that they sign with at their own negotiated price
Also, NFL is the Rush or Thrash Metal of sports, Soccer is the Hair Metal . . . meaning, when I used to wear an NFL jersey while shopping, women didn't say shit to me . . . when I wear a soccer or rugby jersey, women will often break the ice asking what kind of shirt I'm wearing. I've since stopped wearing a football jersey other than at home on game day.

Rageman.... the fact that you admit you watch soccer, and then go on a rant defending it really makes me loathe you. Enjoy your weird sport that ESPN tries to ram down this country's throat.

Whatever floats your boy in the boat. A little thenthitive if you ask me. But, thanks. I do enjoy this weird sport but ESPN has a reason they are showing more and more.bigbuttskinner wrote:Rageman.... the fact that you admit you watch soccer, and then go on a rant defending it really makes me loathe you. Average attendance for American professional sports leagues 2012
NFL 68,240
NCAAF 46,704
MLB 30,138
MLS 18,807
NHL 17,455
NBA 17,273
A 2012 poll for ESPN showed pro soccer as the second ranked sport between the ages 12-24 . . . a key demographic for ESPN as they attempt to get a look at the future trends of their future audience.
http://www.sbnation.com/soccer/2012/3/3 ... -youth-mls
Don't worry though. ESPN was out bid for their English Premier League package by NBC Sports so that means the 2013 Confederations Cup and 2014 World Cup will be ESPN's last venture into international soccer outside of the Euro Championships in 2016 and 2020.
2015 and 2016 will be the years when you'll see if ESPN really wants to show soccer when most of those contracts they lost come back up again
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/20 ... -declined/
A bit dated as attendance did rise last season after he wrote that but MLS had risen in attendance almost yearly during the recession.
It's growing, dude. Accept it. I don't get the massive interest in NASCAR, Golf, Poker, X Games . . . but I don't hate them. Why the vitriol for soccer? I bet you have no idea why.

Seriously, fuck soccer. And fuck anyone who likes it or tries to get others to accept it. I am not accepting this kid's hobby as a sport. It is something children play in gym class to pass the time. It was boring in school, it's even more boring today. "What a match today! We tied them 0-0 but our player had a corner kick that almost went in!" Fuck off and die.

Ah, the plight of the North American Xenophobe adapting to a changing and shrinking habitat.bigbuttskinner wrote:Seriously, fuck soccer. And fuck anyone who likes it or tries to get others to accept it.
You see . . . (whoops! poor choice of words because obviously you don't) . . . The thing is, most of the single digit IQ football fans act like they're being intruded upon when people say "Soccer is going to make it in this country". They somehow think that when THEY accept soccer as sport THEN it will have made it. Soccer does not need your acceptance to FINALLY make it. . . It already has.bigbuttskinner wrote:I am not accepting this kid's hobby as a sport.
A decade ago, there was one Soccer Specific Stadium in North America and it was less than two years old(built by old AFL visionary Lamar Hunt in Columbus). Now there are 12 in the USA, two in Canada and three NFL/CFL stadiums built with soccer fields in mind, Vancouver, Seattle and New England, in fact . . . come to think of it . . . MLS would have never survived without the deep pockets of NFL owners Lamar Hunt and Robert Kraft using their MLS losses as tax write-offs to protect their NFL profits. At one point, they owned 40% of the league and if it wasn't for knuckle dragging mouth breathers like yourself blindly supporting a communist system . . . MLS would have folded and died after 2001 when the league contracted down from 12 teams down to 10. Now there are 19 teams in the league and they outdraw the NHL and the NBA.
THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!!!! We couldn't have done it without you!
To be honest, the NFL is far more boring today than it was 20 years ago.bigbuttskinner wrote:It is something children play in gym class to pass the time. It was boring in school, it's even more boring today.
This is the problem with the average American sports fan today. You need a stat sheet to tell you who won. When there is a draw and one team's players are staring off into space searching for answers and the other team is high fiving and hugging each other . . . you still need a score sheet to tell you who won. The whole "goal" or mantra during the season is "Three points at home, steal a point on the road". It's a season long race and the regular season champ gets automatic inclusion into next seasons Champions League.bigbuttskinner wrote:"What a match today! We tied them 0-0 but our player had a corner kick that almost went in!" Fuck off and die.
Oh, and US National teams are All-Star games that actually mean something. They will play at least eight and possibly 11 "All-Star" matches before a single NFL pre-season game is played this year. But don't worry . . . ESPN will probably only show five of those so you're in luck!

Re: NFL Draft question.
I don't care to get in a pissing match with you about soccer but when you say the MLS soccer attendance is better than the NBA while technically you're right the numbers are what they are.
I just think you're getting in a rush to proclaim how big soccer is, again not wanting to get in a pissing match but the NBA is played in arena's only and I think you should look at tv ratings as a better gauge of comparing the NBA to MLS.
Like I said though if you like soccer good for you it doesn't bother me one way or the other, why should I give a shit, that's why tv's come with a remote control.

Re: NFL Draft question.
Totally agree but I think you're getting in a rush about my comments on soccer's growth. I only used those numbers to explain why ESPN is finally beginning to promote the game. Don't forget, the NBA was almost dead in the water before Magic and Bird saved them and their image. Most of their playoff games went untelevised nationally and those that were on national TV were on tape delay at night. Jordan then took it to another level.eddie lee roth wrote:I don't care to get in a pissing match with you about soccer but when you say the MLS soccer attendance is better than the NBA while technically you're right the numbers are what they are.

Plus the NBA doesn't have to compete with around ten leagues on global TV that are better than they are. MLS is entering their 18th season in a country that is still new to the game. They used to buy time on TV and try to sell ads to get their money back. Now they are getting paid for their broadcasting rights. Baby steps. The NFL was around for over 60 years before they finally became top dog. The NBA and the NFL can thank the 1981 MLB baseball strike for that one. MLB was top dog for over 50 years at that point.
