Well Weeden sucks, but the most ridiculous thing he said was that he thinks the Redskins would Trade Cousins for that bust and a 4th.

Why the fuck would they do that? Cousins is a starter-quality backup who is under contract, cheap, for FOUR YEARS. And he's probably worth a 2nd right now. Maybe more after another year or so. Nobody wants Weeden's sorry ass - certainly not the Redskins, who have seen first hand how much better their 4th rounder is than the Browns' 1st rounder.

If it were me, but I'm just a high school coach so what do I know, I'd have stuck with Colt. In fact, I'd have kept Delhomme around because he was mentoring McCoy and they had a good working relationship. The "cancer" was Seneca Wallace. He made it no secret that he wasn't going to help McCoy at anything because Seneca's job was to take Colts.
Anyway, the coaching staff thought that they couldn't get to the next level with Colt so they drafted who they thought was the best QB they could get at that point and decided to go with him. You have to keep in mind that if the Browns hadn't sold, Shurmur and Heckert are looking at coming back next season and going to the playoffs with a Weeden lead team. Not saying they would be going to the playoffs, but that was the mindset. Once Lerner sold the team that all went out the window. Hell, McCoy may wind up being the starter again with a new coach.

P.S. I have my suspicions that Holmgren knew all along Lerner was shopping the team and that Holmgren's role wasn't really to make the Browns a playoff team but to make them appear more valuable than they were under Phil Savage and Kokinos. So in that sense, Holmgren did his job and laughed all the way to the bank as did Lerner.

So, you're clairvoyant now as well?? If the only coaches that are "hirable" are Super Bowl winners there wouldn't be enough to fill the league.

yea it would be nice if every team could hire a coach like that, and I'd still like to see at least one more season of Weeden before I'd sell him off as no good.

Still though you just know they wish they could have gotten in Washington's place at draft time though.

If he can stay healthy RG3 is gonna be one bad motherfucker and I hope he does cause I want him to terrorize Dallas for years to come.

Hiring coaches based on Super Bowl victories gaurantees nothing. How many coaches have won a SB with two teams? Thanks for playing. The odds of either Fisher and Reid getting a SB victory before a coach wins a Super Bowl with two different teams are strongly in Fisher and Reids corner based on the history of the league.

My biggest worry with RG3 is that he is going to take too much of a beating and will quickly fade into Mike Vickville. Look at modern day "Big Ben." He's toast.

For one thing the RG3/Luck debate has been a popular topic in the NFL since the draft, So it's been an intersting year watching not just those 2 but the entire rookie class, but of course those 2 will get the majority of the attention, that and it's fun watching P13 wallow in his misery. There is some actual debate in between kicking greg around.
Again, why the fuck would I be miserable?? Have you SEEN what the Colts record is? :lol: Compare it to the Dolphins record. Now tell me who's the miserable one. Oh yeah, I forgot you're only a Dolphins fan when they're good. :lol:

Tomorrow is the finale in what has been an incredible Colts season, one of the best I've ever witnessed as a fan, and there have been some great ones. I rank it right up there with some of those most dominant Peyton Manning years. Not because this team is better than those teams, it certainly is not. But because how the team has won, the way they've played together and fought hard. The way they won for their coach, their community, and themselves. It's been a magical ride. We'll see what happens in the playoffs, but this season is already a HUGE victory for the horseshoe!

Looking ahead, we have a TON of cap space, plenty of draft picks, and a front office and coaching staff that's already proven to be elite. This team is going to be downright scary in a very short amount of time. I'm just grateful to be a Colts fan, not a fan of some shitty organization like Washington or Miami.

COLTSTRONG!

Yes, I am just a fan. I don't pretend to be part owner of the team just because I overpaid and got ripped off for a worthless piece of paper. :lol: :lol:

My thoughts:
San Diego
Turner --> Reid or Arians
Turner should have been gone a long time ago. SD will be cleaning house next week.

Kansas City
Crennel --> Arians or Caldwell
Crennel is not head coach material. He'll hook on as a coordinator somewhere. Pioli should be gone too. KC needs to start over and rebuild - yet again.

Philadelphia
Reid --> Gruden
Reid lost the team and it's time for a change. I see them going after Gruden and giving him complete control. Reid will take a year off and then hook on with another team in 2014.

Cleveland
Shurmur --> Chip Kelly
Another organization needing a complete housecleaning. They are also rumored to be looking at Josh McDaniels, but that would be a mistake as he isn't ready for another shot as a head coach. Kelly has had success at Oregon, and it might be time for Cleveland to try something different. Kelly's brand of hurry-up would need modification to work in the NFL, but it certainly would be interesting.

Buffalo
Gaily --> Does it really matter?
The problem in Buffalo is ownership. Yeah, they under-performed given their roster, but a coaching change won't help an organization that is unstable at the top.

NY Jets
Ryan --> ?
Ryan might get one more year, but the organization is going to see changes. Ryan might go too if NY thinks can land a big name who will want complete control since the GM is a gonner. I could see them making a run a Gruden.

Thoughts?
I've never "cheered" for a Head Coach more than Romeo Crennel, but he's proven that his coaching style doesn't work as the head mofo in charge. He can be a Defensive Coordinator for any team in the league and he'll probably go somewhere where he can add to his Super Bowl rings. Such a nice guy, really wish he had more success as a HC, but I digress.

His buddy Belichick would love to have him back I am sure.

Well, the Colts are playing a good team with something to play for, so I don't like their chances.

But win lose or draw, it's surely a COLTSTRONG day. I find their coaching controversy to be a pretty intriguing story. Not what a team heading to wild card slaughter needs.

Chatter is that patriots might tank today's game so they win the right to assrape captain Turnover and coach T-cell in the first round. But Coach Bill can't be that much of a bastard, can he?

Romeo = class act. I've had the pleasure of meeting the man and he was one of the most gracious fellas ever. He handled the tragedy in KC with such class and grace, it brought tears to my eyes. Loved how he handled all the bad situations in Cleveland in 2008 when Phil Savage was afraid to handle the press. Also loved the 10-6 season of 2007. Had the Colts not started Sorgi and tanked the final game of the season, the Browns would've been in the playoffs and Romeo Crennel might still be in Cleveland. That's a huge what if. As it is, we've probably seen the last of Romeo Crennel as a head coach unless KC gives him a "mercy" season after the tragedy of this one. Romeo will be a DC wherever he wants...probably back with his longtime friend Bill Belichick. Bill, being a huge fan of Romeo may even label Romeo "Defensive Coordinator/Assistant Head Coach" out of respect.

I've heard it's possible RAC will walk away from coaching due to health reasons. We both know he's had his issues. I agree that 2007 was a blast. Browns didn't help themselves by losing to Cincy in week 16. That game alone kept them out of the playoffs because they should have throttled Cincy. Colts did the usual, start manning for a little while then let the #2 man come in. And the Titans barely beat them, even then!

RAC had hip replacement and stayed away from the game for a year in 2009. It's his choice to walk away or not. I would hope that KC would not fire him and just let him resign. Much classier. He's got enough SB rings for one hand. And yes, that Cincy game sealed our fate and that was when we (Browns fans) were beginning to realize that Derek Andersen was a flash in the pan. That was a great season though. That was the most "alive" I've ever seen the new stadium. Closest it has ever been to the old one and I attended many a Monday Night game and playoff game in Muni. The season finale in 2007 against San Fran was a friggin' party, even though it was meaningless (we already knew that the Browns fate was in Indy's hands) but still, getting to 10 wins was a huge step for the team. That was a magical season.

What a way. WHAT A WAY to end this magical season!!!! 11-5 bitches! We kicked the Texans asses back to Houston! So proud to be a fan of this team and franchise. This season has been just miraculous with all the things that have gone on. The HORSESHOE once again stands strong as the best organization in the National Football League. We WIN and we WIN the RIGHT WAY!! With our leader back on the sideline, this team showed today what we're really capable of. We stood CHUCKSTRONG and thouroughly WHOOPED an inferior opponent.

Hey bane, how does it feel? HOW DOES IT FEEL knowing the Texans have NEVER and WILL NEVER win a game in Indianapolis? This is our turf boy, and the Texans are our bitch. 0-11 vs the COLTS in Indy. 0-11!!! You cannot win here, boy! You will never surpass the horseshoe!!
