I love seeing the Colts 0-2. It would be better with Manning playing, but it's still the Colts.

The colts are tanking the season for Luck.

I don't believe any NFL team in history has ever tanked a season. This is a new low.

Redskins win again. I was at the game and it's the first time I've seen the Skins win in several years.

Grossman had 2 costly picks, but only one was his fault. He played an otherwise solid game. It was a very entertaining game.

They suck so bad this year that it's not even fun to revel in them losing.

Just kidding. I love it when the Colts lose.

Great Sunday night game, no? I had girls at my bar tonight who couldn't give 2 shits about football rooting for the Falcons because of doggies (actually I agree with them).

My take on yesterday:

Ryan Fitzpatrick is turning into a very good QB. I've always liked the way he runs the game. He might not be the most physically gifted player but he plays like a Harvard guy - smart football player.

Donovan McNabb sucks. Minnesota should be on the phone with David Garrard first thing this morning.

Bringing in Kevin Kolb was a good move for Arizona. Now if they could just play defense.

Rex Grossman is off to a good start with the Skins. But he is still prone to doing boneheaded things. Gunslingers can be fun to watch, but they rarely win championships.

Cam Newton is going to be a decent QB as soon as he figures out that he is no longer able to get out of jams with pure athleticism.

Andy Reid is going to get Michael Vick killed. Having him stand in the pocket and not move around is just leaving him open for big blindside hits. Certainly they don't want him taking pounding hits like an RB when he leaves the pocket, but he avoids the big hits by being mobile.

Dunta Robinson is a moron. He's looking at a huge fine for launching himself and going helmet-to-helmet. I don't care much for Goodell but he was right to crack down on this stuff.

Defenders lying down on the field to try to take a team out of a hurry up offense should cost the team a timeout no matter what point of the game they do it. And if they are out of timeouts it should be a penalty. Legitimate injuries are one thing, but using cramps as an excuse to slow a team down shouldn't be allowed.

The officiating sucks this year. Maybe it's too many rule changes or Goodell's crackdown, but there are way too many flags for little things away from the ball. Stuff like questionable defensive holding on the opposite side of the field after the ball is already thrown or offensive holding behind the QB on a lineman who is just trying to stop a defender from falling into his QB after the ball is downfield needs to stop being called. But worst of all is the way they call roughing the passer. A defender who puts his arms around a QB's waist and shoulder into his chest and takes him to the ground cleanly is roughing while a defender on the ground who rolls through the QB's legs is okay?

Tavaris Jackson was just terrible again. I'm looking forward to week 3 to see Seahawks at home against AZ. I am willing to bet Whitehurst chants start to be heard. But I doubt he gets a chance to play until they fae the Jets at the Jets. Even then it wont be until they are at least 17 points behind.

I'm thinking SF will be the one talking to Garrard this week. Detroit looked bad against the run and fast paced offensives in both games. If they don't figure out plans to stop it someones going to get way ahead early.

Nothing says We are tanking our season more than Tavaris jackson is our starting QB. He flat out sucks and never should have been brought in by the Seahawks.

I thought the same thing, bro. How could you be so stupid? Even a purple and gold homer like me admitted last year, this guy has no chance... ever.

Do you think they'd take Luck anyway? They're locked in with a shit ton of guaranteed money with Manning with his new contract. Are they going to draft Luck and sit him for 4 or 5 years? They might be bad enough this year to get the top pick (although KC looks to give them a serious run for their money), but I'd bet they'd trade down for a bunch of picks. They have needs all over the place, and this year they'd have a few takers.

I don't think Peyton has 4-5 years left in him. I'm sure they could re-structure his deal to make it more cap friendly.

Apparently there's a Colts version of this t-shirt already.

I don't see that going over very well with Manning. He'll want them to spend the pick on players that will help him instead of restructuring his deal to draft his replacement.

It took OT to beat a mediocre San Fran. Let's not get too excited. Romo played well though.

Your Texas-fag dreams die a painful death next week, as the undefeated first place Redskins bring the pain to Jerryville.

Also...you may not be aware of this, but Romo rhymes with homo.

That's unfortunely true :(

And to make things worse some important offensive starters got hurt :? Romo, Austin, Jones, Bryant (he didn't play), Costa.

The game against the Redskins, who are on fire, it's gonna be pretty rough :|

True. OT was neeed, but the Cowboys still came back from 10 down, with an injured QB to escape the city with a W. I'll take a win, no matter how ugly.

Looking forward to rex grossman and the redskins next Monday night.

Yeah, everybody says that. Everyone is looking forward to Rex Grossman until he rains 300 yards and a few TD passes on you.

It's not 2006. Very soon people will stop looking forward to Rex Grossman.

Oveheard Trent Dilfer on ESPN last night with a great stat:

NFL teams that begin 0-2 have a 12% chance of making the playoffs.

In order to be the best, you have to beat the best. If the skins are the best in the NFC east right now, no better time to play them.
Hopefully T. Newman will return to 1 corner spot.
Unsure what Romo's status is. I'll take him with a broken rib over
J. Kitna.

There is talk if Manning doesn't improve after this latest procedure that the Colts may cut him before March 1st.

That may be true, but he can tell them to fuck off on restructuring his deal. How much money can they tie up in the QB position? If he's healthy, no way they cut him, and that's about the only leverage they have.

That would be brutal, but it's a cold business.

The Colts can't afford to destroy their franchise for the next decade just because they don't want to offend a legend. The reality is that Manning is old, and suddenly, looks like he could be all but done. If that's the way it is, he has to go.

Manning can try to fix himself and come back with someone else. This whole scenario played out with the 49ers and Montana, and everbody got on with their lives.

But I don't think you can discount the "suck for luck" theory. The Colts are 0-2 and obviously the Texans are a better team. If the Colts keep losing, what incentive do they have to not lose 'em all? It's only week 2 and the playoffs look like a distant fantasy for them.

I seriously believe that they cannot be committed to winning at this point. They'd be better off with P13 as their QB than Collins. They are just going to keep sending him out there until he retires again, gets hurt, or just keeps losing.

I thought the Colts would have too much pride for this, but scumbaggery runs in the Irsay's bloodline. I'm not so sure any more.

If they think he won't come back or won't be the same QB he was then they will cut him before March 1st to spare a bad cap hit. Also know that Manning went for surgery just a few days after his deal was finalized, and there is a possibility he knew he couldn't go this season but tried to cover for himself until he got the deal.
