Re: NFL 2012 Thread, Bitches!!!!
Arian Foster is the first player in NFL history to rush for over 100 yards in his first 3 play off appearances? Weird. Doesn't seem like it would be that difficult a feat for a premier back.
Re: NFL 2012 Thread, Bitches!!!!
Reports are RGIII told the head coach he was hurt, but not injured.Crazy Levi wrote:I went to the game with friends and family, headed back on the train drinking heavily with some friends, and made it home around 1 am. Didn't watch any of the post-game or even read anything. I wasn't aware that he had gotten hurt so early in the game.johnk5150 wrote:Levi, Griffin shouldn't have gone back in after that play.
I didn't really know what was wrong but it was obvious the offense couldn't do shit as the game went on. Cousins is a good QB, and he probably should have gone in much earlier.
The consensus seems to be that Shanahan made a terrible decision letting RG3 play the 2nd half. Surely he did not look like himself - at all- after that great 1st quarter. Shame it all ended like that last night but it was a great season. Looking forward to next season for sure.
As for the Seahawks, hey they are a very good team and I wouldn't mind seeing them go all the way. They can beat Atlanta for sure.
So coach let him remain in the game.
Just wondering how much more damage he did to his knee.
Skins also reported that Dr. James Andrews cleared RGIII to play.
The Dr. has remained silent on the issue as of now.

Re: NFL 2012 Thread, Bitches!!!!
Robert Griffin III will get more tests on his injured right knee after an MRI proved inconclusive because of a previous ACL tear.
Griffin tore his ACL while playing at Baylor in 2009, and Shanahan said sometimes an old injury can cloud the results of an MRI.
If Griffin has torn the ACL again, he would likely require a rehabilitation period of nine to 12 months, putting his status for next season in jeopardy.
Griffin reinjured his knee twice in Sunday's playoff loss to Seattle.

RG3 should have never been on the field in the 1st place.
This is going to be a story going forward, especially if the news about his knee is another torn ACL.
If so, then the head coach should have known better than to let a rookie NFL determine his status for the game.
Shanahan has enough experience in this game to tell the kid to sit down and let someone else play because his knee was nowhere near 100%
If the decision is left to the player, of course the player is going to lie and tell the coach he is well enough to play the game.
Foolish of the skins. The worst thing that might have happened to them in 2012 was making the playoffs.
Multiply that by 1,000 if RG3 has another torn ACL= possibly missing the entire 2013 season

Re: NFL 2012 Thread, Bitches!!!!
Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III has suffered partial tears to the anterior cruciate ligament and lateral collateral ligament in his right knee, according to a report from The Washington Post.

I thought for sure more people would rip Shanahan and while I agree that they should've put Cousins in the 3nd half, look at the way Cutler was teated for sitting out with a knee injury and the way Rivers was applauded for playing through one, granted those guys arent rookies but RG3 is going out of way to let everyone know it He was doing anything to stay in the game no matter what. Shanahan really had to step in though as HC and do what was obviously best for Griffin going forward.

I hope Griffin can make a full recovery and be ready for next season. Now I have to wonder with the rumors about Andrews not clearing Griffin to play, if Shanahan gets investigated by Goodell and co for failing to take proper steps in evaluating RGIII's injury.

The weirdest thing about it for me is the fact that Griffin was playing like shit...couldn't plant, couldn't run, limping all over...and still Shanahan didn't pull him. It was pretty obvious he was hurt and wasn't himself and the offense couldn't do shit.sin wrote:I hope Griffin can make a full recovery and be ready for next season. So what was to be gained by leaving him out there? They somehow STILL had a 1 point lead going into the 4th quarter, at that point I'm surprised he didn't go with Cousins.
Re: NFL 2012 Thread, Bitches!!!!
It is unfortunate for Griffin, I feel bad for the kid. It's too bad he was drafted by a low class organization who views winning as more important than the health of the players. The ownership and coaching staff ought to be ashamed for putting Griffin's health at stake in the name of winning. The biggest irony is that Griffin didn't even give the team a better chance to win than Cousins.sin wrote:I hope Griffin can make a full recovery and be ready for next season. I agree. I don't know what Mike was thinking or did through out the week but if they had given Cousins more snaps with the starters and had an alternate game plan they might have still been able to win.
I saw the game Cousins played. Trust me I wasn't ready to celebrate when he came in.

Yeah, an animated Gif of Luck falling down and getting hit in the head proves he aint tough.
The correct answer is Luck missed exactly zero snaps this year. RGTebow missed A LOT.

Sounds like somebody is butthurt that Ray Lewis stole a little attention away from the whole Chuckstrong sideshow for a week....
---------
Ray Lewis' dance 'disrespectful,' Reggie Wayne says
"I saw it as disrespectful," Wayne said Monday on WNDE-AM in Indianapolis. "They'd already had a tribute every quarter."
We could see how the spectacle surrounding Lewis would become tiresome for a Colts team that traveled to Baltimore solely to keep its season alive. Instead, they became a supporting act to a day about Ray.

The pressure Griffin felt to play that hurt sucks. People really did treat Cutler unfairly for sitting out the second half of the title game 2 years ago.

Dr. James Andrews, the renowned orthopedist who caused a stir when he was quoted as saying that Redskins coach Mike Shanahan put quarterback Robert Griffin III back in a game against the Ravens without Andrews’ clearance, has now changed his tune.Crazy Levi wrote:The weirdest thing about it for me is the fact that Griffin was playing like shit...couldn't plant, couldn't run, limping all over...and still Shanahan didn't pull him. “Coach Shanahan didn’t lie about it, and I didn’t lie,” Andrews said. “I didn’t get to examine [Griffin’s knee] because he came out for one play, didn’t let us look at him and on the next play, he ran through all the players and back out onto the field. Coach Shanahan looks at me like, ‘Is he OK?’ and I give him the ‘Hi’ sign as in, ‘He’s running around, so I guess he’s OK.’ But I didn’t get to check him out until after the game. It was just a communication problem. Heat of battle. I didn’t get to tell him I didn’t get to examine the knee. Mike Shanahan would never have put him out there at risk just to win a game.”

Furthermore, why was the field in such poor shape?
That field has torn quite a few ACL's in the last year.
A.P tore his up about a year ago.
RGIII just messed up his knee and in the same game, the Seahawks DE
tore up his knee.

But it'll come down to the coach. As many have said correctly - even Gregg - RG3 clearly hurt himself early in the game and was completely ineffective after that point. Shanahan should have pulled him at that point, or at least by the 3rd quarter - it was CLEAR he was hurt and wasn't gonna be able to get the job done. That INT he threw was a badly underthrown deep chuck that was all arm. He hasn't underthrown a pass all year.
No point in finger-pointing at this point. Shanahan isn't going anywhere and neither is RG3 (though he might be on an extended vacation). It's football and shit happens - just wish it had gone down differently. Taking RG3 out - even at the end of the 3rd quarter - would have given the Skins the best chance to win and protected the QB.
As far as the field - I'm not sure why it was such a mess. Part of it is there was just a bowl game there a few days earlier. It does seem to be chronically bad. Redskins have always played on natural grass, but the new fake turf is great so I wouldn't really mind seeing it put in. We aren't talking astroturf anymore.
