These are tickets that would go for $100 easily in Quebec City, Hamilton, Markham or Seattle.

The NHLPA really should've fought for relocation of a few teams during the lockout. Teams generating more pie = more pie for the NHLPA.
Exactly - those seats would go for $350-400/pair in Montreal; more in Toronto. I've heard about the Club Red thing, but I can't believe that 3000+ were in the lounge, watching the game from there.

Also, if I'm an advertiser, thinking of advertising on the ice, boards, scoreboard, etc. - and I tune into the game and see all those empty seats, paid for or not - I'm not putting my advertising dollars into there.

Phoenix is a priority before Florida, but one team in the state is probably enough.

Nobody from Florida, is from Florida, dude. It's that way for the whole state.

Most people from South Florida are from NY or Cuba,

Nope. It's in three sections.

Sure. Lets just put every team in Canada. That will be good for attendance but in the long run not great for the league.

My point is that Florida is not the lowest attended or least profitable team in the league. And the club red section is deceptive in regards to numbers in the arena.

As for where a new Hockey team should be - for me it should be in Seattle.

I wasn't using it as defense mechanism. I was stating some facts. I fully admitted that the Panthers are no where near the most popular or profitable team. My point was that the club red section makes the arena seem a lot emptier than it actually is. I've been to the arena. Have you?

Yeah pretty much.

With all the people from the North East states coming down for the weather it results in solid away fan attendance. Especially from an original 6 team or a team in the North East of North America.

It was free hotdog night - so everyone was in the hallways with their hotdogs. If that doesn't explain it for you doubters, I don't know what will.

On Saturday night, the Bell Centre will be louder than the LGBT/S&M/B&D/WTF Arena was on Thursday.
Hockey is in trouble in south Florida … despite the ludicrous suggestion that 17,021 showed up to watch the Canadiens...

Your link didn't work. Considering the disastrous start to the season I'm not surprised to see attendance declining (although the first game was sold out and was the third highest attendance of the opening weekend). Yet it is still decent. As in between 15,000 to 21,000. I'll repeat yet again. The Club Red section is deceptive to the amount of people who are in the arena. Are they the most popular and profitable team in the NHL. Absolutely not. But there are teams who have worse attendance and are not as profitable. When i first went to the arena (and yes the Panthers were performing worse then) the arena was 90% full. I've been to the arena. Have you?

Very impressed with the Devils this season. After losing the Stanley Cup final and Praise leaving I really didn't think you guys would do as well.

You had better be dreading JT91. He is in beast mode right now.

But it is the Flyers and they usually beat the Isles.

Tavares is REALLY coming into his own. He should start challenging guys like Stamkos, Malkin, and Crosby for the Hart and Art Ross, come next year. He's great with Moulson, but the Isles need to surround him even more.

This is the deadest Flyers team I've seen in ages. I know yesterday was a back to back for them, but they brought almost no jam to the game. Not the Flyers I grew up fearing...

They need to draft/develop a good young goalie on their own and use their $ elsewhere.

Nah, they trade 'em or even more tragic, let 'em pull a Vince Neil. :(

Hopefully when they get to Brooklyn and Wang sells they can get a big time guy to put next to him. Boyes has been a very good linemate for him and Moulson this season.

I guess you haven't been to many sporting events or concerts. The first few minutes always has people trickling in.

Oh and over 17,000 in attendance for yesterdays game! Gutted about the result :x twice in two games blown a two goal lead in the third to then lose in overtime. FFS.

They also announced that many in the building for the game against the Habs and per the Montreal media (and from what I saw on TV) there weren't half that many people really in attendance.
