Gagne back to The Flyers for a 4th round pick...awesome. Guy's always been a fan favorite here in Philly. We need him in the locker room and n the ice. They need to pull their shit together with the quickness.

Habs ship out Erik Cole and re-acquire Mike Ryder and a 3rd round pick.

Cole did score 35 last year, but had clearly lost a step this year. They get a 30-goal scorer back, who's two years younger. Not to mention, Cole has two years left after this one, at 4.5 million per. Ryder is in final year of a 3.5/year deal. Habs get cap relief now, and even more the next couple of years, when the cap goes down.

Very good deal for the Habs, from a business perspective. Ryder probably plays with Plekanec and Gionta as early as tomorrow.

Not to mention that Cole pulled the "I'm an American,I don't want my kids in a Canadian school and Quebec taxes are too high whaa whaaaa" card during the lockout. See you later, bitch. His rumored hatred of Subban may have played into this as well.

Ryder is a odd cat,put him with Riberio(Mtl,Dallas) and he light's it up,without him...not so much,although he's off to a great start this season.It is a great move,cap wise,for sure.

I hated to see Simmonds go, but I got over it when I saw Mike Richards hoist the Stanley Cup.

The Blackhawks are just ridiculous atm. But maybe peaking too early.... I can honestly see them winning the presidents trophy and then losing in the first round.

Their run has also overshadowed the Ducks impressive start to the season. Definitely my favourite California team!

The President's Trophy Jinx has hit them in the past, so it's not a crazy thought.
They're winning even when they play poorly lately, and that's the difference. They're getting the bounces (like Stalberg's goal last night that skipped away from Shaw) and they're making the plays at key times.
You're right, the Ducks are playing lights out and barely anyone notices because of what the Hawks are doing.

No wonder. You been to a game yet? They're kinda good. You know something is going on when my wife is paying attention.

Was talking with some buddies yesterday, and I put some money down saying the finals will include our 2 least favourite teams in the world, Hawks and Bruins.

As a Canucks fan, that would torture me, but as a hockey fan, that could be the best finals in a long damn time.

Habs take 3 points out of 4 in a tough home and home vs Pitt and Boston. 11 games in a row with at least a point since that 6-0 drubbing vs the Leafs.

Marc Bergevin has totally changed the face of the Habs. They no longer have to depend on a goalie making 40+ saves, or the PP. They are rolling 4 lines and 6 D, are fighting through injuries, are getting great contributions from rookies and role players.

By no means do I see them as a Cup threat, but this team has become respectable fast.

I'm thinking the brass would've been satisfied with "A" save Saturday night, that includes the Penguins as well. Holy Hell that was a sloppy game.As I was leaving the Bell Centre someone in front of me muttered,"Can't believe Montreal gets a point for that!",I came back with "I can't believe the Pens get two!!!"

Vokoun ain't right....he looked scared to death out there last night.

the last time a team started with a record like that didn't they win the Cup?..wasn't it the Ducks?...either way, that would be an awesome final....I'd even like to see a Pens/Hawks final.

I would die if the Hawks won the cup. Moving from a city where nobody even knew we had a hockey team to being in a damn ticker tape parade where the cup comes riding down the street. I don't want to jinx it. I"m taking this one game at a time.

First of all, bitchin' avatar and welcome to the club. The decade before Toews and Kane were brutal. They were outdrawn by the Wolves some home games during that stretch and it sucked knowing they were horrible.

Secondly, Kaner! See what happens when you quit drinking and punching cabbies?
