KC vs. Atlanta or something like that would be a nice change of pace. Not gonna happen, but I'm reasonably confident that at least one of the most blathered about teams in the AFC wont matter after the first round.
New blood would be KC('70) or NY('69) vs Atl('99) or GB('98). I don't know that any of those matchups would make for the most entertaining game, mainly because Cassel or Sanchez could be overwhelmed and turn in a bad game. NE, Pitt, NO, Indy, Chi, Sea, & Phi have all been there within the past 6 years.
With the participation of Arizona and New Orleans in the Super Bowl (and in consecutive years no less) the NFC has all its teams with at least one participation, with the exception of the Detroit Lions.

So it's the turn to the AFC to send a new representative 8)
All of the AFC teams in this years playoffs have already been to at least 1 SB.

If that happened once, I might agree with you. But for a chain of accusations to happen. He has to be guilty, or a complete moron to keep putting himself in these circumstances. Out of any athletes or musicians, how many actually get accused of rape?

I do tend to subscribe to the whole smoke/fire thing. You're right that he's probably either prone to rape (when drunk, perhaps? In that case he ought to abstain from alcohol, DUH!) or a massive moron both on AND off the field. My first statement was extreme and not really indicative of how I feel.

Firing Cable for taking that team from punch line to quasi competitive seals the deal.

More reason for NFL fans to bash the Raiders. I love it.
I wonder how the Raider nation will react to this screw-up?
There is no organization more dysfunctional than the Raiders.

If there was a coach who earned another year on the job, Cable is the guy.

Reports are Al has reached out to JaMarcus for a return to the starting QB position. News at 11

I've heard that Davis is dumping Cable so he can hold on to Hue Jackson.

The move comes the same day the Raiders granted the San Francisco 49ers permission to interview offensive coordinator Hue Jackson for their vacant head coaching job. Jackson will interview with the 49ers on Wednesday, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Punter Shane Lechler ripped the move in comments to Bay Area media Tuesday, saying it was a "huge setback" for the Raiders.

"It's hard to understand how or why the decision was made when it seemed it was in the best interest of players and we finally felt like we were headed in the right way, and the owner goes and pulls the [plug]," Lechler said, according to the Oakland Tribune.

Shane Lechler
"Yes, I do respect [Jackson]. ... I totally agree and like the energy he brings to the offensive side of the ball. Whether he can call plays and pull off the whole head coaching deal and deal with Al Davis on the side, I don't know. That's a lot on somebody's plate, so we'll see."

8-8 for the Raiders is like winning the Superbowl. Maybe Davis is upset because he won't have a top 5 pick this year(and someone forgot to tell him he traded the pick)?

That'll work. Marino lasted what, 3 weeks in that job. Then he realized it was actual work and said fuck that noise.

Latest Lines:

Favorite ........... Line ....... Underdog ....... Total
New Orleans ..... -10.5 ..... At Seattle ........ 44.5
At Indianapolis .. -2.5 ...... NY Jets ............ 44.5
Baltimore .......... -3 ........ At Kansas City .. 40.5
At Philadelphia ... -3 ........ Green Bay ........ 46

So Vegas thinks NY is better than Indy on a neutral field.

I look at the lines for this weekend. That New Orleans game should probably be higher than it is but Vegas would never have an NFL playoff game around 2 TDs. I think it will be a 3+ TD blowout where Seattle is forced into a bunch of mistakes from playing down 2- 3 scores and being the playoffs NO won't slow down until the 2 minute warning. That Philly vs GB should be a good game, and Vegas has them even except for the home field. I really wouldn't be shocked if all 4 road teams won, and I would think at least 3 of them will.

The Saints game will be a massacre. I still love that a losing team made the playoffs for the first time...now I know what hockey fans feel like.

I think the Colts will win, sadly.

And I think the Eagles will win, sadly.

The good news is I don't bet on sports, and generally suck at picking games, so I'm probably wrong.

Non-New Orleans fans think it will be a blowout. Nothing comes easy for the Saints. It's a 60 minute heart attack. They still will win though.

And I like the Packers. Eagles will blow it. Aaron Rodgers is a BMF.

That's bullshit. It's not 1976 anymore. Or 2004.

The Saints are super bowl champs and they will hang a ton of points on the hapless Seahawks. The hawks are not a good football team.

Have a little pride in your boys, they aren't the 'aints anymore.

Vince Young WON'T be with the Titans next season.
They took the coach over the quarterback?

If you knew anything about football, you wouldn't be shocked about it. It was the right choice and the obvious choice. I hate the Titans and hope they fail, but Jeff Fisher is a well respected coach and the longest tenured coach in the league. He's proven he's a good coach. In 4 years, VY still hasn't proven he has what it takes to be a franchise QB. Easy decision.

It's a playoff game, and NO is a much better team than Sea from top to bottom. These games tend to be blowouts because once a team gets behind they can't play conservative just to make it look respectable and they end up forcing things which usually just leads to mistakes. Just take the teams off the field and match up Payton vs Carroll. That's like Einstein vs P13 in a battle of wits. Carroll excels at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory with poor game management and bad decisions.

You're an idiot. Seattle will make it close or win due to their immense home field advantage. That's one LOUD place to have to play. On top of that the Saints have to travel cross country on a short week. Lastly, the Saints are overrated and are not that good of a team.

I'm still predicting a Saints win, but it will be closer than most people think.
