So far this month, the Angels have hit four HR total. Two by Wells, two by Trumbo. That's four HR in 15 games. Ugh.

That doesn't look good for their Division hopes. Texas is still tough without Lee, Seattle's pitching is unreal and Dustin Ackley hit his first HR tonite, Oakland still has really good pitching.

I would never expect a Scoissica team to finish at the bottom of the standings, but this season?

It's possible. This offense is horrible and there isn't any relief in sight. Starting pitching is good (Weaver and Haren are a great 1-2, then Santana-Pineiro-Chatwood are good), the bullpen has gelled, but the offense is dire. I find myself looking for other things to do instead of watching the games.

Edwin Rodriguez resigned this morning. :( Good manager and a helluva good guy. This slide was NOT his fault.

Rumor has it that Jack McKeon is being considered Edwin's replacement.

Yeah, that's all 80 year old Jack McKeon needs is to have to deal with Hanley Ramirez.

Bring Larry Bowa in to give those guys some discipline. Obviously the nice guy approach isn't working.

I really don't think Jack would put up with Hanley's bullshit. He's still a feisty fucker. But you are right, they don't need a "nice guy" manager. I was thinking Ozzie (LOLZ) but Bowa's not a bad idea...

Sux vs Yankees is the best rivalry in sports going.

2003 was pretty good, but losing the WS stunk
2004 was going fine, up until losing the ALCS.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I wanted no part of Beckett and Florida in 2003. I knew whoever won the ALCS especially after a long 7 game series was going to get their asses handed to em'.

If you think MFY Stadium wouldn't shut up about 1918 before?

Well sometimes some new blood in the clubhouse turns the team around. The A's got rid of Geren and replaced him with Melvin, and they've been on like a 5 game win streak.

The first thing Mckeon did was bench Ramirez his first day on the job. So he ain't fuckin' around. Maybe it will carry over to the team.

Albert Pujols is out 4-6 weeks with an arm fracture so at least they won't have to pitch to him. That's a start right?

So far today, the Angels have 12 hits and no runs. One inning left to tie or break the record of 14! God, this offense is pathetic.

Oh, you got nothin' on the Fish, Tinny. Tonight's win (Thanks, btw! :D The 11 game losing streak is OVAH!) was only our SECOND this MONTH. Absolutely brutal. Hopefully now we can win a few here and there.

Is everyone else sick of interleague play yet? The novelty is long gone. I'd rather the two leagues only meet in the WS.

Yep. I'm over it. I hate Selig and everything he's done to the game.

Home field advantage in the World Series being decided by the All-Star game, fuck you. The Roid-era, fuck you. Billion dollar payroll teams ( yes, I know mine is one of them ), fuck you.

I didn't know the Marlins were going to be called the Miami Marlins when they move into the new stadium.

How would we spin that? Let's see.....The Miami Florida Of The Eastern Standard Time Marlins USA. It just isn't as fun as Tin's LAAAAAAAA Angels.

Yeahhhh...new name, new uniforms, new logo, new park, new everything. New park is 70% ready! (I'm not too thrilled about the new name, etc. but it's better than the San Antonio Marlins, I guess...)

If Selig has his way there will be realignment and expanded playoffs. Two 15 team leagues, interleague play every week, and 5 teams from each league in the playoffs. Not to mention other things he's done such as no more Saturday afternoon ballgames and no day games during the World Series. Kenesaw Mountain Landis he ain't.

I still enjoy inter league play. I don't want this to go away.
One suggestion that might help is to eliminate the home and home series(Yankees at Mets, Mets and Yankees) in the same season. Keep the series to either a 3 or 4 game series, just once a year to keep the rivalry fresh.

Fuck inter-league. Fuck Selig.

Did anyone see this yesterday?

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=6735623

A 3 ball walk that led to the only run scoring? Unfuckingbelievable. I was watching that game yesterday, and didn't catch it either.

I've been enjoying watching Seattle's rookies come up from AAA. They've got an awesome Farm system. I don't know how I feel about Wedge yet though, he seems to have a fascination with Peguero which I just don't get. They demoted Mike Carp ( only 35AB ) to make room for new pitcher Beavan ( who pitched today 7IP 1ER 1BB 4K ). He's a really tall flyball pitcher who is ideal for Safeco.

I also want to see Halman get 100AB in LF this year too, to see what he's capable of. He's shown power in AAA, and there is no one availble to fill the void in LF for Seattle. I think he's got the potential to be pretty badass. So far Ackley ( who's had a hit in every game since his call up ), Smoak ( who they got for Lee ) and Pineda ( who is approaching his IP limit ) are kicking ass.

I've said two years ago that Seattle will be a force again in about 3 years time. Jack Z is a fucking genius GM, and they have Tom Tango in charge of Baseball Operations. The callups are working out, and the next batch ( Everett AA ) are looking tough.

I love seeing teams rebuild from within.

Derek Jeter made the all-star team. A .256 BA, .320 OBP, .630 OPS, and 4 errors. Give me a fucking break.

How is this not an all-star line?

Paul Konerko CWS 83 304 39 97 13 0 21 62 37 47 1 1 .319 .390 .569 .959

He even has a fucking stolen base this year.
