poizond13 wrote:What a showing for Luck today against a tough defense. In fact, the game couldn't have gone any better for him. People will say, "but he had a pick six and another interception." The second pick was a perfect pass that was bobbled and then picked. The pick six was absolutely all on Luck and he knew it. But those types of things will happen, especially against a tough defense like the Steelers. What matters is how you react to them. Luck brushed it off like a veteran and didn't let it faze him. He came back and led two touchdown drives, and looked stellar for the rest of the time he played. He even led a sharp one minute hurry up drive, leading the team to a last second field goal. You like to see Luck make some mistakes early so he can learn from them, and more importantly see how he will react and bounce back from them. In that respect, I couldn't be happier with this game. Again, it's only preseason, but any Colts fan has to be excited about the future of this team with Luck playing QB.

Love RG3's game. You have a franchise QB Levi.

Loved what the Bears first string offense looked like.
That's great news - wouldn't know from the stats though. Didn't see the game, what went down?
RG3 has a cannon for an arm. He's fast as shit but isn't looking to run first. He's patient with his progressions. Bears D line did pressure him and sacked him 3 times but I'd put those sacks on skins O line and Peppers getting pressure. Griffin going to be good.

I watched the Colts game and Luck looked pretty good to me. I've watched a lot of bust rookie QBs but this guy seemed to be in control.

Keep telling yourself the games right now
don't mean anything.
Luck could lead the league in QB rating during the exhibition season and that won't mean a thing.
Nobody remembers how Joe Montana or Troy Aikman performed during their 1st exhibition games, do they?

I would like to think thats Seattles defense doing that not Peyton having a bad day. I didn't have high hopes for Seattle this year, but so far they look like they could challenge the 9ers for NFC West champs this year.

2 exhibition games down, 2 more to go.

The remaining 2 exhibition games are useless.

There is only a need for 2 of these games and throw in a handful of scrimmages vs other teams and that's plenty.

Peyton's red zone INT was a terrible throw. It was a wounded duck he threw way too low, which caused a deflection.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson told ESPN's Lisa Salters that he didn't give a full effort last season because he didn't want to get injured before signing a new contract.

When asked about instances when his effort was questioned, Jackson said: "I let it get to me, even though I tried not to let it. I was trying to protect myself from getting hurt -- now I'm just giving it all."

After receiving the Eagles' franchise tender, Jackson signed a five-year, $51 million extension with $15 million guaranteed in March. Jackson said he was "happy to finally get the contract. I felt with what I had done for the team, I deserved it."

Jackson sought a contract extension last year and held out the first 11 days of training camp. During the season, Jackson was deactivated for a Week 10 game against the Arizona Cardinals and benched during a Week 12 loss to the New England Patriots.

He finished with 961 receiving yards, his lowest total since his 2008 rookie season, and averaged a career-low 6.7 yards on punt returns.

Report on Junior Seau:
No drugs or alcohol found and no visible signs of brain damage.
His cell phone was found with him but the card was removed.

A Preseason Showdown for the Ages!

Image

World’s most loathed mini mogul, Dan Snyder, didn’t get where he is by NOT monetizing every little thing he possibly could. With that in mind, of course there is a shirt being sold by the Redskins team store pushing the preseason showdown between Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III as tomorrow’s history…TODAY! Snyder, you brilliant opportunistic fleecing bastard.

If anything, I would argue that the shirt is more a potential investment for lovers of ironic football shirts. Buy it to keep as a treasured keepsake and people are just gonna laugh at your desperation. But get one in the hopes that one or more of these quarterbacks turns out to be a bust, and the world laughs along with you. If you had an EPIC SHOWDOWN: PEYTON MANNING VS. RYAN LEAF, OCTOBER 4, 1998, why, you’d have quite the deliciously pathetic memento on your hands, wouldn’t you? This is even better since it’s for a preseason game. Just adds that extra touch of camp so necessary in bad T-shirts.

Now, if you’re in the business of trolling ‘Skins fans – and who isn’t? – the pro tip is Photoshopping Kirk Cousins into the right half of the design. HE DID LOOK BETTER AGAINST THOSE BACK-UPS, COOCH!

I'm not. I think Junior couldn't live without the game. I think this is as big a problem as the concussions. maybe bigger. but it's not as sexy or money driven as concussions. The concussion thing is about money and lawsuits, imo.

Reports were that the Rams did that because this team might return
to LA in the next 2 seasons.

BUT, they are spinning it as "we pulled out of London to take care of staying in Saint Louis." The Cleveland Rams. The Los Angeles Rams. The Saint Louis Rams. Now, about to be the LA Rams again. Hell, bring the Raiders back to LA too. That would be hilarious!!!

So Matt Flynn is in danger of losing his job to mid-round draft pick?

Has Flynn sucked or is the other guy just lighting it up?

I have a strong suspicion that Flynn may be suffering from Matt Cassellittis, AKA, half ass decent QB made to look like a super star in the making after performing well with the equivalent of the Beatles as teammates.

If any of you here have HBO, I highly recommend watching
the latest Real Sports that debuted this week.
1 of the feature stories about is former Saints player,
Steve Gleason. He has been diagnosed with ALS.
I'm not a Saints fan, but the story is very, very interesting.

I think the Giants are going to be solid again. They just reload on defense. I saw no less than eight defensive linemen last night that would be starters on any team.

I was concerned about the Texans offense going in to tonight's game. No longer. They looked awesome. The D not so much, but missing 3 key starters against the NFL's best offense, I'll take it. I'm feeling pretty good about my teams chances this season. A return to the Big Easy doesn't seem impossible, in fact, it looks to be well within reach. Come on health.
