Re: NFL 2010 Thread
I'm not ready to hand them the trophy just yet. A lot of things can happen and even though they look pretty good they are still beatable. Baltimore is a bad matchup for them if things work out that way, and GB just about beat them in Foxboro without Rodgers. It's a very young team, and even with Brady and Belichick there is no way to know how they are going to handle the playoffs.bane wrote:Brady is gonna win one this year. But I was thinking that if hypothetically they did win the one held in Indy next year that it would send P13 off the deep end.

OK, tell you what. Let's let somebody else win it this year, and Brady and Co. can have it next year just to boil Greggie's brain. No way I could stomach it if those guys won 2 in a row.

Jesus. Bears are 9 1/2 point favorites. There's the kiss of death. Hasselbeck looked great Saturday.

What kind of number would a Bears/GB conference title game grab for Fox (If the Bears don't pull their patented shit the bed against Seattle this week).

The only team I like in the NFC are the Packers. Patriots are obviously the only AFC team worth shit...but a Packer/Patriots Super Bowl does not get me excited at all. Eh.

If David Akers is normal David Akers and Andy Reid isn't an idiot, there's a chance that game yesterday turns out differently.HMJ wrote:The only team I like in the NFC are the Packers. That pass Rodgers threw when Jones DROPPED the touchdown was probably the nicest pass thrown over the weekend. I really hope the Bears don't act like typical playoffs Bears Sunday.

I think it would do very well. It's an old rivalry, both teams have good fan bases, and it should be pretty easy to market. The diehard football fans from every city will watch it because it's one of the last games of the season, and the conference championships(as well as the Superbowl) also draw a lot of casual fans.johnk5150 wrote:What kind of number would a Bears/GB conference title game grab for Fox (If the Bears don't pull their patented shit the bed against Seattle this week).

That pass couldn't have been thrown more perfectly if it was taking place indoors with no defensive coverage. Beautiful throw.johnk5150 wrote: That pass Rodgers threw when Jones DROPPED the touchdown was probably the nicest pass thrown over the weekend. Re: NFL 2010 Thread
As much as I would hate to see the Pats get closer to the SB again, I hope they kick fat boys ass this weekend. Also, is there a more annoying person to watch on the sideline then Pete Carroll?

Indoors with no coverage. You mean like the conditions Manning gets to play in most of the time. No wind or elements to alter the path of the ball and an officiating crew that won't let opposing D-backs anywhere near his receivers.WTF wrote:That pass couldn't have been thrown more perfectly if it was taking place indoors with no defensive coverage. Re: NFL 2010 Thread
Look at this. A PATS troll insinuating that the Colts get preferential treatment and are allowed to bend the rules. NEWSFLASH: Your team was CAUGHT cheating. They were penalized severely for doing so and the league openly acknowledged that they CHEATED. This cheating went on for YEARS and helped them win Superbowls. These are all FACTS.SkyDog112046 wrote:and an officiating crew that won't let opposing D-backs anywhere near his receivers.WTF wrote:That pass couldn't have been thrown more perfectly if it was taking place indoors with no defensive coverage. The COLTS on the other hand, have never been caught, or even been suspected, of cheating.
If anything, the vast majority of calls this year have gone against us. In this past weekend's game, the jets were penalized THREE times for 15 yards. No pass interference calls, even thought there should have been 2.
I know you don't know much about football and have only been watching the game for a few months now, but if you are going to run your mouth about something you know nothing about, be prepared to show FACTS. FACTS, such as the fact that the Patriots were caught cheating and were penalized for it. FACTS like the fact that Mr. Polian has never instituted any rule change regarding defensive holding or pass interference. Where are your FACTS that show the refs benefit the Colts? I'll wait.

Really? The AFC is a WAY stronger conference. I would like any of the 4 remaining teams in the AFC's chances vs anyone in the NFC, including Atlanta. NYJ, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh all have punishing defences - THEY all may be more dangerous to Atlanta (or whoever) than the Pats. No disrespect meant to the Pats.HMJ wrote: Patriots are obviously the only AFC team worth shit.
Re: NFL 2010 Thread
I think I agree. I also think we'll never see a "sure thing" like the 1985 Bears again. I mean, that team wasn't going to lose and everyone knew it. I don't think there's a team since then that you could say that about. Even in the Pats undefeated regular season I never felt like they couldn't be beaten.WOLF wrote: Really? You mean other than the couple of times where Polian got thrown out of stadiums for trying to gain access to the officials before the game?poizond13 wrote: The COLTS on the other hand, have never been caught, or even been suspected, of cheating.

And yes, there should have been 2 pass interference calls - against Bethea on 2 consecutive passes where he was all over Keller on the series that ended in a INT right before halftime. But give the officials credit this time they let the teams play instead of handing Manning a win he didn't deserve.

Once again trolling with the same bullshit you always do. Didn't we have this conversation a while ago?poizond13 wrote:This cheating went on for YEARS and helped them win Superbowls. These are all FACTS.
That's right, you have NO proof of that and you know it. Just your typical bullshit when you know Peyton will NEVER have as many Super Bowl wins as Brady.
Doesn't mean they didn't do it, does it?poizond13 wrote:The COLTS on the other hand, have never been caught
If the Patriots were benefiting so much from those tapes, how come they didn't go undefeated EVERY year and win the Super Bowl EVERY year during that time? Oh, that's right, because just about every other team was doing it too.
COLTS SUCK, troll.

There were a couple of 49ers teams that were close to being like that. Especially the year they smoked SD in the Superbowl. But you are right I don't think we'll ever see that again due to the salary cap.WTF wrote:I think I agree. I also think we'll never see a "sure thing" like the 1985 Bears again. I just don't see Baltimore or Pittsburgh beating New England. And I certainly don't see whoever comes out of the NFC beating New England.

I still be rooting for the Jets even tho' their chances are slim
VERY glad that the E-gals are out and I won't hear of that Michael Vick in quite some time.
I hope (and think) that the NFC championship will be between Falcons and Bears.
And that the AFC sends whomever EXCEPT the fucking Steelers!
That'll be sacrilege for the holy ground in Cowboys Stadium

I can see Pittsburgh beating NE. They have the D to slow down Brady at least a little bit and an experienced qb. Not saying they will, I can just see it happening. NE doesn't have the defense they had when they won 3 super bowls.HMJ wrote:I just don't see Baltimore or Pittsburgh beating New England. Word. Everybody left in the AFC is capable of beating any NFC team at this point IMO with the possible exception of the Jets. I don't think anybody is going to beat NE, but I'd give Baltimore or Pitt a good chance to do it. Atlanta probably has the best shot out of the NFC against any of those AFC teams, but the rest of the NFC is pretty pedestrian this year IMHO.WOLF wrote:Really? The AFC is a WAY stronger conference. The Steelers' defense can't stop Brady, they only beat Brady one time in his whole career.NeverSurrender wrote:I can see Pittsburgh beating NE.
