So was Manning.
Well, Denver learned from San Diego's mistake obviously.

Indeed. He'd also only had one really good season.

Now, it was obvious Brees was a solid QB, and after the whole leaf/post-leaf era of gloom (and with a great RB in place), I wasn't happy that they traded him away.

However, the potential of Rivers was clear, and in his first four full seasons he threw for more yards a game, more tds a game, and less interceptions a game than Breees did in his four full seasons, and never missed a game through injury. Like Utah said, I don't think anybody saw Brees exploding into an elite QB quite the way he did.

That's basically the beauty and cruelty of sport though. Even when you make what was ostensibly a good decision, it can still come back to haunt you.

Or Indy didn't learn from San Diego's?

Again though, there were fairly solid odds Manning was fucked forever, and the Colts aren't in too bad a place.

Them trying to trade him has been a huge fiasco. First off, he's worthless, and second, smearing him publicly by releasing his drug treatment info was massive mistep which could have grave consequences for them.

Their coach is a complete douchebag who has already lost the team.

That coach is the last person to know he lost that team. I predict Schiano will be fired after the 2013 season.

Freeman can double-dip if he signs with another team this year.
Not bad for his bank account. There has to be at least 1 team(Raiders) that might be interested in his services.

I doubt Schiano makes it through the season. Come week 7 or 8, he may already be gone.

Patriots sign Austin Collie.

They also released Zach Sudfeld.
Maybe Gronk plays this Sunday?

Speaking of the Chargers, Raiders starting 3rd string undrafted QB Matt McGloin Penn State, back up RB's, questionable FB and no one at WR with 100 career catches.

Raiders vs Chargers...Should be a close game!

Awesome. Gonna be a tight division but at this point it's just cool to see the browns not at the bottom. I'll root for them in the North.

Amazing game, just got home. Intense crowd and a wild atmosphere. Hats off to Buffalo fans representing, loud, boisterous, and got beat by Brandon fucking Weeden...

Classy tribute to Jim Brown at halftime. I can't wait to watch the dvr of the game tomorrow.

re: Jim Brown celebration:

I have to believe they do something like this every couple of years, right? Or does someone just wake up in 2013 and say "Hey, we should honor the greatest player in our history who we have been ignoring for 50 years!"

re: browns:

Good win for the Browns, but that game was basically over when Manuel got hurt. Felt sorry for that kid Tuel he had no business being out there. Find it hard to believe that the Bills went into this season without a veteran backup.

The Vikings sign Josh Freeman. How desperate is Leslie Frazier to keep his job. The Vikings are not going to the post season this year. The only thing this does is ensure that only one team from the NFC North makes it to the playoffs.

Holy hell that Cowboys/Bronco game was hard to watch. Only Dallas can put on that kind of showing and lose. Fucking hell..

Blame Romo? Not as much as I blame a fucking defense that can't stop anyone. And, just where in the fuck has this "monster" Demarcus Ware run off too? The guy is a joke now and the REAL choke artist.. Doesn't even show up in games anymore. Got manhandled one on one last night. Pathetic..

Romo, Romo, Romo, What in the FUCK is wrong with this guy? Sure. The dumbasses "coaching" didn't help. But, to pass right then? With a tie? RUN THE FUCKING BALL.

Like , when they were up 14-0 and Murray, while just running for 9 yds, a first down.. You pass 3 fucking times? Pass? that close? Wake the fuck up assholes.. Dallas shouldn't even of been in this game but, fortunately for them, Denver's secondary sucks balls too. Dallas had nothing to lose and played like that.

Oh,... Fuck it. Just ranting here. Not like I should be suprised.. Got terrible coaching and one of the biggest chokers in the game. Along with Romo doing his best to stink up the joint.

And, this is what you get..

THE 2103 Dallas Cowboys..

Next up.. A poor showing against the Redskins.. Lovely..

Oh well, better than being a Giants fan. ahahahahaha

All this means is Ponder is most likely gone, and this is a stab for the future. I think it means very little for this season.

They are winning with a stifling defense. Nowadays, that is considered "ugly". Dan Patrick last night openly questioned if they can keep winning with the offense they have. The answer is YES. If the opposing offense is turning the ball over, the QB is constantly under pressure/sacked, being kept out of the end zone (did you see that goal line stand the Chiefs had yesterday? That was fucking awesome), the Chiefs are gonna win. They don't have to score a lot of points if they are preventing the other team from scoring hardly at all. It was troubling to see them give up the lead to the Titans in the 3rd quarter. It's going to be very interesting to see what ends up happening against the Broncos. The Broncos won't be putting up 50, I can guarantee that. Whether the Chiefs can beat them, I don't know. Raiders next week. I think the Chiefs will remain undefeated. They can never show up on highlights, as long as they keep winning, I don't care.

This game was hard to watch. Up 14 early, then down double digits sometime in
the 3rd quarter.
Romo's pass was horrible but to be honest the Rookie tight end didn't do Romo any favors by running a very poor route.
Ware has to be injured because he's playing like an average joe out there.
The rest of the Dallas D should be embarrassed for not being able to stop the Broncos offense at critical points in the game.
Besides the recovered fumble and the Clairborne INT, Dallas defense was getting run over and appeared over-matched. AWFUL!!!

In the last 161 games played, Dallas has a record of 130-131 after
the loss yesterday to Denver :(
