The sale of the Arizona Coyotes might fall through, again, and by now Bettman is surely fed up. He'll move Arizona to Las Vegas, maybe expand to Seattle and Quebec City, and then if Florida, or another Eastern team, dies he'll move them further West - maybe to Kansas City. We'll wind up with 16 east/16 west soon enough.

Once they traded for Boychuk and Leddy, I knew this team would be good. It's what they have needed for years now. And Halak is playing well.

Take a ridiculous over payment. The management at Edmonton completely over values their players. More than most other teams.

Florida vs Washington set a new record for the longest shootout in NHL history. Florida won in the 20th round. 5 times Florida had to score to stay in the game, and they did!

Crazy.

while I can somewhat agree on "over valuing" their players, Taylor Hall @ $6 million is a good deal, locked in for another 5 years...he's been top 10 in scoring the last 2 years, one of the best LW in the NHL over the past couple of years ( points wise ) as well, at 23 years old. Oilers lose any trade involving Hall ( unless another team offers something crazy good) I think Eberle gets traded in the off season though, nice return for him to help bring in some of what this fuckin team needs..the next 50 games are gonna be hard to watch.

Oh I agree that Hall is on a great contract, and one of the best wingers in the game. Although his defense could be improved quite a bit. At least next season he'll be playing with McDavid.

I honestly think they'll end up losing out on McDavid somehow, which even if they ended up with Eichel I'd be happy BUT if you ask 90% of Oilers fans, we'd pass on both to play competitive over the remaining games..I know it sounds stupid to pass on a generational talent like McDavid/Eichel but Taylor Hall was drafted in 2010 and it's been nothing but suck since... hell, if they end up with the #1 pick ( again  ) I think they could package that pick to pretty much any team and get one hell of a return ( Lindros trade ) how many teams wouldn't want the next Crosby? ( this is how he has been perceived anyway )..I'm sure we could get either that #1D/#2C or #1 goalie that this team so desperately needs.

I think Arizona will 'win' the lottery. You guys picking 3rd could be a blessing, because Hanifin is a stud D prospect. But you're not passing up on drafting McDavid and Eichel.

Eriksson has simply NOT worked out as a Bruin. Some guys just aren't meant to wear that spoked B. Getting Oshie would make the Seguin trade more palatable I think.

Me neither. I guess maybe they think he fits better in their system and will return back to form?
Like WOLF said, he just doesn't fit here.

Devils fire coach Pete DeBoer.

Total idiocy! Lamiorello should fire himself. DeBoer is a great coach and likely was not the author of a team devoid of any young talent, and led by the likes of Jagr, Elias, Gomez, and Cammalleri.

I wonder when Scott Stevens is coming out of retirement?

Flames finally end their 8 game losing streak.....While the Rangers just picked up 8 in a row, a little surprised with this group but still don't see a playoff run. Go NY Lightning.

Do they have a coach by committee now?

Pretty much. Apparently Lamiorello is supervising the bench, with Oates managing the offence and Stevens managing the D. That franchise is getting worse and worse every day.

Good chance to get McDavid. As long as it isn't the Oilers.

It won't be the Oilers, even if we end up last, we don't end up with him, he'll go to Carolina/Arizona... as much as not getting a "generational" type player that McDavid/Eichel is, this team needs a Top 2 Dman and a #1 goalie and change also needs to happen from the top down ( Lowe ) I think some of the "core" will be traded in the off season to bring in what this team really needs, that includes possibly trading Hall.

Never saw this side of the forums, so when I did it was nice to see an NHL thread. Always good to find another place to talk about hockey.

I follow the Blackhawks more than the other teams, but that's mostly due to the fact that I'm one of the team photographers for their AHL affiliate in Rockford, the IceHogs. I get to see the development of the players and watch them as they develop and hopefully hit the bigs. Due to that I probably know more about the prospects for the Blues, Preds, Wings and Wild than their parent teams since we play their affiliates most, but still love watching.
