Every team has a stinker in them. If the Lions can manhandle the Als in Montreal - Chris Leak not withstanding - then the Bombers can handle the Roughies in Winnipeg.

We're still headed for Montreal facing Calgary or Saskatchewan for the Grey Cup, barring a minor miracle.

Rickey Foley is back :)

Ricky Foley is headed back to the CFL.

He agreed to terms with the B.C Lions on Monday, returning to the club where he spent four seasons.

Foley, who was named the CFL's top Canadian last season, signed with the NFL's Seattle Seahawks in February but was cut at training camp last month.

The New York Jets claimed the 29-year-old defensive end off waivers on Aug. 31, only to release him last week. Despite being unable to make an NFL roster, Foley is pleased to be back with the Lions.

"B.C. is where I made my start, made great friendships and won a championship in 2006," Foley said in a release. "I couldn't imagine playing anywhere else."

The Courtice, Ont., native recorded 12 sacks and 51 defensive tackles with the Lions last season.

"Ricky brings a very high level of play to the defence and I know our fans will be excited to have him back in black and orange," Lions general manager and head coach Wally Buono said.

The Lions (3-7), who sit third in the CFL's West Division, host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Saturday night.

The latest is that after agreeing to terms with the Lions, he spurned them and signed with the Argos.

Hmmm. Sounds a little fishy to me. Buono seems to be taking this too well. Maybe the league should sit down with the owners of the respective teams and discuss how this could have happened. Oh, wait a minute.....

This weeks winners:

Calgary
BC
Winnipeg
Montreal

We'll see tonight how much heart the Riders offence has. I'm hopeful but not confident that they can break out of the slump they've been in.

Calgary - they might be as close to unbeatable as I've seen any CFL team in a while. They have a couple of games coming up against the Als and they should definitely be interesting.

BC - The Lions are hot and the trip west is always a bitch for eastern teams.

Winnipeg - With Cory Boyd out, I don't like the Argos chances. Take away the run threat and Cleo Lemon stands to throw at least three picks.

Montreal - I wish we'd go with McPherson again, but AC says he's ready and maybe it is best that he ease back into things with a soft opponent.

But Lord God and Saviour Eric Tillman has taken over the Evil Empire, Wolf. Don't you know that the Eskimos are destined to go Undefeated for the next 6 seasons? *sarcasm off*

Its hard to call foley a cunt because he wants to be near his family, but fuck it, that was a cunt move announcing he was coming back to BC and bailing the next day.

I guess he could imagine playing somwhere else.

The roughrides now dont have a non caucasian in the recieving core, defaintly the only pro football team i have seen like that in the pros

Great game tonight, i couldnt get over how calgarys D got shredded at the end there. Wild

And that punting call was the dumbest thing i have ever seen ever.

You know, I didn't hate that call. Eddie Johnson has been crushing his punts lately, and I think Ken Miller was playing the odds. It didn't work out and now even with the win Miller is taking a lot of heat, but I don't mind the call.

Great win for the Riders.

Week 13!

Montreal over Winnepeg tonight. No contest here, likely.

Hamilton over Saskatchewan. Riders D-line is a patchwork, and I think Kevin Glenn will have time to pick us apart. Plus, the Riders suck out loud on the road this year. (Loved the Ti-Cats TV phoney 'Fantuz Flakes' shampoo spoof. Check it out on their website for a laugh.) Looking forward to seeing Stevie Baggs suit up for the Cats against his old team.

Calgary over BC. I think the Lions can hang in with Calgary, and if they can get consistent pressure on Burris and force some mistakes, they've got a shot. Can't pull the trigger on calling an upset here though.

Edmonton over Toronto. A road game for both teams really. i'm only interested in this game because it's in Moncton. Should be a crazy time there this weekend. I take the Eskimos because Cleo Lemon can't seem to throw for 100 yards a game, and that has to catch up to the Argos sometime, right?

Enjoy!

Als
Hamilton
Calgary
Toronto

Those are your winners this week, though I'd love to see Sask and Edmonton give the Als some breathing roon atop the East.

OK, that was ugly, but I'll take it. The Als have no return game to speak of this year - god do we miss Larry Taylor! The kicking isn't much better; I fully expect Damon Duval to be our downfall this year. Between the dropped passes, stupid penalties, and horried special teams, I just can't see the Als repeating.

Oh, and I fully admit the Bombers got hosed. I really thought that was a fumble by Richardson, not an incompletion. I have no idea how command central decided to uphold the decision on the field so quickly. CFL reffing sucks - but it usually cuts both ways.

What a great week for my Als!

- We gained a game on the entire East and now look like a solid bet to win the division

- We moved into a tie for first in the overall standings

- We have now have a home-and-home series against the Stamps, who are playing their worst football of the season

Thank you Riders, Lions, and Eskies!

Let's get this fucker fired up again!

I just had me a great Turkey Day. I watched the Als return the favor and kick the Stamps' collective ass all over Molson Stadium AND I got to watch a class act, Ben Cahoon, become the CFL's all-time leading pass catcher.

Cheers to the Als and Ben Ca-Hoon!

Respect to Ben Cahoon..one of the best even on EITHER side of the border.

If you could have bet on all the eastern teams winning this weekend, what would the odds have been? 100-1? great job by the Cats bombers and Argos as well this weekend.

Fuck...the Riders special teams piss me off. Oh well, beat Calgary next week and we're in First. HUGE game coming up.

I'm not sure what I'm looking forward to more:

- watching in person as the Als, hopefully, clinch the division title at home against a desperate Bombers squad; or

- arriving home and watching the Stamps and Roughies play for 1st in the west.

A great day of CFL action coming up! N-F-what?

Jeez WOLF, did the Als just take the night off last night, or are the Cats for real?

I hope the Riders come up with a better effort tonight than we've seen the past few weeks.

Nice win for the Lions last night. I'm thinking the Stamps would rather face the Riders in the West final than have to host the Lions again.

I'm kind of chuckling reading comments on TSN's message board about how the Ticats handed the Als their asses and how they're going to whup us in the playoffs. The Als rested several "injured" starters; had a very short week after playing Sunday and only having one walkthrough on Wednesday; and most importantly they completely ran plays from the back pages of the playbook and very little from their normal offensive package. They don't want to give Hamilton, and Toronto the next two weeks, anything to look at on tape before the East final.

The Als are just getting healthy and prepping themselves. The road to the Grey Cup in the East still goes through Olympic Stadium.

Also, kick returner extraordinaire, Larry Taylor, seems to be returning from the NY Jets practice roster, which is GREAT NEWS. He was Special Teams player of the year last year in the CFL.

I would have loved to get in the mind of a US fan, checking out the CFL for the first time on the NFL Network last night, and trying to decipher the end of the Als/Argos game! That was a Canadian classic, but had to even make the most ardent CFL fan say "what the fuck"?!

That's funny, I said the same thing to my wife right after that play. 'Oddball Canadian rules' indeed.

Playoff predictions:

Hamilton over Toronto: As much as the Argos running game, and special teams (read: Chad Owens), are to be feared, I can't get over the mismatch at QB. Kevin Glenn is head and shoulders the best player in this game. So long as he plays that way, the Ticats will win. Besides, I want them to get their asses whupped in Montreal. They're a little cocky after beating the Als in a nothing game, 4 days after the Als clinched the division.

Saskatchewan over BC: Yeah, the Lions are hot going into the playoffs, and the Riders are streaky, but still the Riders have played in a lot of big games the last few years. They're also at home - where they're a much better team - and have a lot of weapons. This one will be close, but the favorites will win. Do I smell a Grey Cup rematch?

Also, it didn't take long for Eric Tillman to make his mark in Edmonton. Ritchie Hall is gone. Look for big changes to their squad next year.
