Talking about youth, Ferguson got another unknown striker, Bebe from Portugal. I hope he's right about these things.
Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
Apparently Real were interested in Bebe, but like United they are linked with everyone. Fergie has had his fair share of flops, Berbatov and Veron to name 2 but the scouts have to take some of the blame too. I'm sure they study these players a lot before making a decision.

Interesting "news" about Ozil.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... -Ozil.html
"Mesut Ozil apparently looks all set to join Manchester United - after the club's website placed a template of his profile among their first team.
The club have not confirmed the signing, but the profile on the site has only fuelled rumors that the Werder Bremen play-maker is on his way to Old Trafford.
Yet United have moved quickly to pour cold water on the imminent arrival of one of the world's hottest talents, dismissing the e-error as little more than a technical glitch.
It would not be the first time a club has prematurely announced a player on their website.
Arsenal, in error, published a small feature on Sol Campbell's return to the club before his signing had been fully announced in January earlier this year.
It is still not known if the profile has appeared as a result of the site being hacked but the profile can still be accessed by clicking here."

wait, what?
The Spurs - Citeh game was a corker, Joe Hart was in rare form.
Liverpool - Arsenal tomorrow, nervous and excited at the same time.

Yeah, good win for Villa considering the upheaval, but then again it was only West Ham.
I'd read on other forums many people writing off Chelsea as their pre-season sucked, but write them off at your peril.

Just watching Match of the Day this morning. What do you do for that over there Mickey, can you get MOTD or are there highlughts on ESPN or something?
Chelsea gave WBA a fucking pummeling It's going to be a long season for Scott Carson.

Albrighton was great, if he continues like that, he will be signed by a bigger team soon. Also Blackpool ftw. Wigan is the most uneven team, probably this season too.MickeyG wrote:Yeah, good win for Villa considering the upheaval, but then again it was only West Ham.

Albrighton will be in the England squad by the end of the season , and he has just signed a new 8 year contract at Villa with a buy out clause of 35 million, so someone will have to be sure if they buy him.Hellsinkey wrote:Albrighton was great, if he continues like that, he will be signed by a bigger team soon. Great win for us , west ham looked appalling but we had Cuellar, Collins, Agbonlahor all injured and still managed a great win - good signs so far
There is also a chance that Kevin Macdonald might get the managers job
Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
Shitty City was on live and I saw that, then Chelsea was on but I missed that. They usually show the goals from Saturday at half time during the big Sunday match, and then they have a show after that that shows all the goals from the weekend so far with discussion about them. Monday's game is on ESPN too. But I'll be at work.el_nino wrote:Just watching Match of the Day this morning. So I get to see a fair amount for an extra $5 for Fox Soccer channel as ESPN and ESPN 2 come with basic cable anyways.

Arsenal were awful today. Very lucky to get a draw. Koscielny should not have been sent off for that handball unless Ngog had been booked for his handball earlier. Poor reffing. Not sure Cole's foul was any worse than some of the others that went unpunished.
Still, good result for Chelsea and United.

Scholes and Giggs still going strong. Funniest thing after Barton's moustache was Rooney kicking the ball at his head when he was down. I wonder if it was by accident.

So Ozil joins Madrid, I never expected him to come to United.

Real shame. Scholes has started great but he can't play the whole seaon like that. He's 35 for christ sake! And the backup is just not creative enough. Attacking midfielder please Fergie - asap.

You can get away with it if your 2 wingers are very creative, which fucks us if Fergie decided to play Park wide because he has no creative skills. Carrick can pass, but seems to lack the creativeness to open defences. Gibson can shoot and nothing else. Mostly Giggs will be replacing Scholes as that midfield creator, but he's not as good at picking a pass and he's not getting any younger either. I agree, someone should be signed. Fletcher will be there to ball win/kick people.

Just read that Possebon has signed a 4 year contract at Santos.
Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
this has been poorly reported all week - he was actually booked for kicking the ball away after the decision was given, not the handball.MickeyG wrote:Koscielny should not have been sent off for that handball unless Ngog had been booked for his handball earlier. Poor reffing.
Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
You are correct. I did read that somewhere else, whereas when I saw it during the game there was no mention of the ball kicking and they kept showing the handball.MickeyG wrote:Just read that Possebon has signed a 4 year contract at Santos.
My apologies to the ref.

Ineffectiveness, Berbatov tearing out his hair, Nani failing and second best scorer called Own Goal. Felt like watching the last season. A challenge for Chelsea?
Re: **OFFICIAL Association Football 2010/2011 Season thread*
I know they have a new manager but Fulham were no pushover at home last season. They've beaten United there both of the last 2 seasons.
But it's still a disappointment considering they were 2-1 up with 6 mins left, then missed a pen before letting Fulham back into it in the last minute. All after Chelsea scored 6 again on Saturday.
