Re: The NFL Thread
That picture don't tell shit. Dick was yacking all the way across the endzone before Crabtree pushed off. As far as what started it, Dick Sherman said it started at a charity event months earlier with Larry Fitz in Arizona. Crab is/was an asshole as well so who knows. One things for sure, Sherman yacked all game including when the play was over all the way across the field. His actions afterwords...You wouldn't find it funny if Seattle lost and Crabtree did the CHOKE on YOU.
Sherman comes off as a roid rager. I've been there, you might have had the experience as well but I hate it with a passion. Hate what it did to me and watching what it does to others. Even if he's not, he's got the attitude.
The shit talk bugs me because in every game there was always some young mouthy disrespectful roiding bitch who'd never shut up. That's who Sherman reminds me of and he's one injury, one hit away from learning respect. I hate self promoting assholes. I was more of a team guy rather than a dancing after a tackle douche who run my mouth all game.
Sure I'm ok with some trash....But trash is something said and left on the field. There's a difference between shit talking and attention whoring.

Crabtree did that because Sherman patted him on the ass. he's a great cover corner, but he really is a prick.Son_of_Sam_I_Am wrote:Bayless is a tool and asked a stupid fucking question (surprise!).
Sherman called out Crabtree because Crabtree did this:
And even more so, Sherman called out some classless assholes in the Hawk's Nest who threw popcorn at Bowman as he was lying there in agony:
One thing I can’t accept is what I read after the game about Seahawks fans throwing food at 49ers linebacker Navorro Bowman as he was being carted off the field with his knee injury. If it’s true, it’s beyond terrible. That’s as low as it gets. I’m sure whoever did this is in a small minority of fans, because I don’t think that kind of action is an accurate representation of the character of the 12th man. Navorro Bowman is a great player who plays the game the right way. When he went down, I dropped to a knee and prayed for him. He deserves better than having food thrown at him as he’s carted off a field. All players deserve better than that.
Yeah, I'm a Seattleite and Seahawks fan, but I'm also a fan of some shit-talking and some personality being injected back into this league. A league where we get "We just went out there and played our best" soundbites week after week that fans like you bitch about. When someone like Sherman goes against the status quo, though, you cry about that, too.
Sherman is the fucking man. Buck up.

I didn't know who Dick Sherman was till his spat with Revis this year, the more I google the more I laugh. Makes Terrell Owens looks like Barry Sanders. I'm done with Sherman, I'm up to date and seen enough of this clown. I don't think he's fast enough but has he returned punts? I'd like to see him give it a shot.bane wrote:Crabtree did that because Sherman patted him on the ass. he's a great cover corner, but he really is a prick.

The last time we saw Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman he was getting shoved in the face by Washington Redskins offensive tackle Trent Williams. The chatty 24-year-old corner has been involved in similarly cordial exchanges all season long, notably mocking Tom Brady after a Week 6 game.
With the Falcons already leading 13-0 in the second quarter, White may have settled their argument. The 31-year-old receiver blew by Sherman on a deep route. As Ryan flung a deep ball toward White, Sherman lost his footing in pursuit and fell to the turf. White caught the ball for a 47-yard touchdown. Not only did the score stake the Falcons to a 20-0 lead but it may have momentarily quieted Sherman. With White now administering the trash talk, Sherman offered up a sarcastic golf clap.

The Seahawks are tough, no one is disputing that. As a Hawks fan how do you feel about the reffing that game? Seattle's good and it's was probably unneeded, but it happened. Doesn't that piss you off? It would me, I'm not saying it would've changed the final outcome ( Kaep did choke ), but even if you weren't losing this game. That would piss me off. If I was a diehard fan I'd be insulted. What are you the Lakers?Son_of_Sam_I_Am wrote:Bayless is a tool and asked a stupid fucking question (surprise!).

The calls were total bullshit, but I want to explicitly state I think Seattle played better. I just want to hear a Hawks fan take on something so apparently false.

The reffing wasn't very good but it didn't cost the 49ers that game.
In fact the biggest fuck up of all - failing to recognize the 49er's recovered fumble at the goal line - was reversed one play later on a turnover.

Since that blown call sack on Brees that lost them the game you'd think the Niners are being targeted.

What is Seattle's record at home again? Aren't they close to being undefeated in the past 2 years there?
Yeah, god forbid THAT wouldn't have anything to do with it. Seattle is a different monster at home. Everyone knows that.
It's always the refs when it comes to the losing team. Blown calls are always gonna be there. It's nothing knew. Overcome them and win.
Frisco didn't.
Oh, and staying away from Sherman's side might help when it is the last do or die play of the game. ahahahaha..

Re: The NFL Thread
I'm not sure if it's Harbaugh's temper tantrums, or Colin Kaepernick's attitude and failure to progress as a QB but I do believe that the NFL had it out for SF.
That being said. I hate SF always have, the bad calls and giving Sherman the mic right at the end tarnished a great game for me.

Are there any good sites for player stats? Since I refuse to bet against Seattle, despite what I feel is Peyton's retire on top game. I've got a tentative bet, Manning's completions to whomever Sherman is covering.

Seattle didnt do much to put that game away. If Sherman doesn't get a hand on that last pass this is a whole different conversation. We'd be talking about how the Seahawks can't score in the red zone. Woulda shoulda coulda indeed.

Re: The NFL Thread
Here's something to add debate to the Richard Sherman interview. I copied the 1st 12. If you want to read the whole Seattle slanted thing it's here.
http://www.forbes.com/sites/tommytomlin ... interview/
1. So the Seahawks beat the 49ers to go to the Super Bowl, and Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman made the game-saving play, and Erin Andrews interviewed him on the field immediately after the game, and he hollered like a crazy person:
2. Within seconds people on social media were calling him a fool, a thug, a classless jerk and many worse things.
3. Sherman is black, and so of course there was an undercurrent of race to some — OK, a lot — of the discussion.
4. Sherman graduated second in his class in high school and also graduated from Stanford. So not only is he not a fool, odds are he’s smarter than you and me.
5. His degree from Stanford was in communications … which might explain why, while he seemed to be hollering like a crazy person, he didn’t curse and looked into the camera the whole time.
6. In other words, he might have just been auditioning for the WWE.
7. Maybe 15 minutes later, when Sherman sat down with the Fox NFL guys, he was calm and funny.
8. If you stick a microphone in a football player’s face seconds after he made a huge play to send his team to the Super Bowl, you shouldn’t be surprised if he’s a little amped up.
9. Ninety-nine percent of on-field interviews are boring and useless. The TV networks do them anyway for the 1 percent of the time they get a moment like Richard Sherman.
11. But we — the media, and fans in general — don’t know what we want. We rip athletes for giving us boring quotes. But if they say what they actually feel, we rip them for spouting off or showing a lack of class.
12. It’s like we want them to be thinking, Well, that was a fine contest, and jolly good that we won. Which NO athlete is EVER thinking.

Re: The NFL Thread
New point system being talked about for the upcoming season. (being talked about)
the extra point has a 99% success rate so their thinking about making a TD staright up 7 points and you can get another point added on by trying what is now known as the 2 point conversion.
If you miss on the extra point however your TD would be only 6 points.
I like that idea so it probably has no chance of coming true.

Why not just do away with the extra point and make it a 2 point conversion? A TD is worth 7 except when it isn't is retarded, unless the 2 point try is still voluntary, then it makes sense. That could be pretty cool from a strategic perspective.eddie lee roth wrote:New point system being talked about for the upcoming season. (being talked about)

Because the anonymity of the internet allows people to be what they really are without fear of repercussion. Racism still exists in America. Since its no longer PC to be one in person, the ones that are net savvy find outlets to vent just how much they hate cats of a different color.
If you want to see something truly frightening, go take a few shifts at a call center that does the Gallup polls. Even scarier is these people vote.
Back to the matter at hand. Every big sporting event needs a face and a heel to elevate it to a grand stature. Simply, its the easiest form of hype. You know it. I know it. And certainly Rich Sherman knows it. Manning and the Broncos need a foil to add that extra spark, as well as the extra draw it will bring. And that foil is The Nature Boy Rich Sherman and the castoffs known as the Seahawks.
If the Sea Pigeons manage to notch a win against the post-season choke factory known as Peyton Manning, expect to see Sherman at Wrestlemania. That is how well he has played the role of the villain thus far.
